Suggestion talk:20071014 No Suicide for Zombies

#Abstain - "If a zombie falls from the building, and no one is around to hear it, does it still make a noise?" I was originally going to vote keep on this, as I think it is stupid that a zombie can commit suicide (they are already dead). Then I was going to vote kill, as with this suggestion, a group of survivors could grief a zombie player by perpetually killing it while keeping 'cades up. Thus, with this suggestion, the zombie player would never be able to leave. Ultimately I can't decide between either justification, and so I'll just leave this here for others to ponder... or perhaps sway my vote --Ryiis 19:27, 15 October 2007 (BST) see main suggestion page for vote choice Ryiis 15:10, 16 October 2007 (BST)

Question

Since I can't find the answer and those discussing this are most likely to know, may I ask is Zombie suicide pointless? If a wounded Zed dies and then stands up, will it not then have full HP? And wouln't be able to do this deliberately give a tactical advantage in some cases, such as before a planned attack? --Richardhg 05:16, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

A zombie suicide could be useful, but as it currently does nothing (other than moving you outside the building) and my previous attempts at making it do something failed, I decided to suggest removing it completely. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 10:45, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
It does do something, it allows a zombie to exit a building into the block outdoors when the building is barricaded (Sure you could hop to a neighbouring block and back but that costs an extra ap). It is also a RP tool. Your suggestion ignores these valuable parts of an existing mechanic. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 10:49, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
One AP isn't that important. And if it is, you can wait for half an hour. I tried to make it more of an RP tool by giving it an actual effect, but it failed.
Just because the mechanic's already in the game doesn't mean that it should be given any looser treatment than new mechanics. Would you vote Keep on a suggestion that gave zombies the ability to jump from a tall building that had absolutely no effects other than landing him outside? I certainly wouldn't. I would Spam it for not making any kind of sense. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 11:36, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Not 1 AP, 4 AP. Zombie movement isn't defaulted at 1 AP like survivors.--Karekmaps?! 03:04, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
Actually, even then it would be only two extra AP, not four. Unless suicide costs 1AP even without Lurching Gait, when it would be 3 extra AP. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 08:45, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
