Suggestion talk:20071109 Label Maker

  1. Spam - Yet another way for retards to spam shit like STREETS IS WATCHIN... Also, humans do not need more ways to communicate. Also, all the objections Funt made. Also, adding a peel buttin would not be difficult in the slightest. All kevan would have to do is alter the zombies smash decoration code to remove the label instead of a decoration, and be usable by humans instead of zombies, both of which are rather minor. The framework already exists, and anyway, using the perception of sloth on the part of the creator as an excuse to justify your own sloppy thinking is just plain bad. Lay off the suggestions page, please. You do nothing but spam it up with idea after idea after idea, often without any thought as to how exactly the suggestion would affect the game. Instead take the time and put some thought into your ideas. Spend a week on them, or maybe you could go do something else, such as get laid (Though i could understand how that might be difficult if you are in bed as you are here, cosntantly making stupid suggestions). And stop RE'ing everything. It wont change our votes and makes you look like an even bigger dick. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 17:30, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Re /goes to girlfriend, describes awesome suggestion to improve Urban Dead. girlfriend responds "What the hell's Urban Dead?"
Grim, I spend less time making suggestions than you do superfluously criticizing them. My "spam" has resulted in quite a few implemented game features, include feeding groans, radios, and oodles more. I think you could cut me some slack if you don't agree with every or even most suggestions or even 99.9% of suggestions I make. Anyway, concerning the part of your vote that isn't spam, which could have ironically been stated in 3 short sentences instead of your spammy book: while a peel button could exist, I think it A) Makes it too easy to remove labels B) Adds a seldom used button to the interface. C) Is fine if you just have to attack it. For that matter why do you have to attack generators to destroy them? Why not just pick em up and chuck em out the window? Perhaps Kevan should introduce a "Chuck Generator Out Window Button" along with "Peel". Nice sexual insult there against a stranger on the internet though, your e-peen should be erect with pride. --Jon Pyre 17:44, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Regarding your suggestions: Half of those things would have been put in anyway. There are two ways to make good suggestions. One way is by careful consideration and thought on the matter, before posting the suggestion (My method, which explains why i have a 70% Peer reviewed rate, 78% if you discount the joke suggestion i made a year ago), and there is the brute force accidental method, which you practice which explains why you have, at best, maybe a 5% peer reviewed rate (And thats me being highly optomistic). Face it you have only ever made good suggestions by accident, but they are by far the exception, rather than the rule. Use your fucking head before you post something. Please. Three words: THINK. THINGS. THROUGH. Another 3 words: STOP. POSTING. CRAP. And i cut no one any slack. Why should i start with a moron such as yourself? Also, it wasnt an insult you unevolved example of proto-hominid, it was a joke. And stop fucking edit conflicting me. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 17:54, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Sorry I think that was me.-- BKM 18:08, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
No, it was him. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 18:17, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Re I've found the developing suggestions page to be of limited use with fairly straightforward ideas like this. If I put this there it would get one comment saying "Cool!" and one comment saying "Humans don't need more ways to communicate!" and then I'd post it as is. Developing suggestions has been most useful to me for suggestions that need numbers but I can use advice as to what would be balanced, or vague suggestions that need development. This is pretty much developed as it could get. "Label things you put down in buildings" BAM. The whole "peel or no peel" (hosted by Howie Mandell) issue is pretty minor. Look, I don't want there to be bad blood. You don't like my suggestions most of the time. Fine, whatever. Vote kill or spam. But I have the right to post them, and the right to re comments on them, and I'm going to. I'm not trying to sway your vote, but offer a counterpoint to anyone who votes next. And most of my suggestions aren't that bad compared to what's out there. My PR rate is still higher than average even if lower than yours, and I probably have the greatest number of implemented suggestions for any one person, not that I'm competing with anyone. I'm not trying to build up suggestion pages points, I think these are valid improvements to a game I enjoy. /rant--Jon Pyre 18:09, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Quit tootin your own horn about how much you have implimented. It is only reasonable to assume that a person who has made literally THOUSANDS of suggestions would eventually hit upon a good idea, if only by accident. Anyway, several of your suggestions were more than likely already on the drawing board when you suggested them, they were just that plain obvious. If you dont want bad blood, stop posting stupid crap! The point of the suggestions development page is not just to work out the kinks in suggestions, but to seperate the true crap from the stuff that might have a snowballs chance in hell of passing. Slow the fuck down, stop posting so much senseless crap and posting it as if you are trying to wow everyone with your creativity. You have ideas, WE GET IT ALREADY, now go develop those that are actually worth exploring instead of posting them here as soon as they pop into that vacuous volume you call a head. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 18:17, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Re As far as I can tell there aren't any serious kinks to work out. There's just the "I would like writing three words on machines" viewpoint and the "Three words on machines is spam" side. If anyone points out something I overlooked I'll gladly withdraw for workshopping. --Jon Pyre 18:27, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
And now you arent reading what is being said you cretinous knuckle dragger. I said that it was not only for working out kinks, but for seperating the good concepts from the bad. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 18:34, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Well, that's your opinion and your vote. The system works. --Jon Pyre 18:39, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
It would work a whole lot better if you would stop circumventing huge sections of it with your crap. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 18:41, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
I'm not going to not post a suggestion because one person on the development page says "Humans have enough ways of communicating", something I disagree with. That would be like [analogy involving Congress]. I think that analogy explains my point. --Jon Pyre 18:45, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
It's not the best suggestion in the world, but it's by no means the worst. thing is though, Jon Pyre - There's a whole lot of info already on the game page. If you wish to add to this text it realy has to be increadibly useful info. Adding anything that may be considered spam by anyone is always gonna be risky. No point in getting in a RE conflict over it.--SeventythreeTalk 18:55, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
I think that being able to effectively sign the generators you, or your group place would be a useful improvement to gameplay. Besides, I think it's right to reward people that place generators. That isn't spam, it's a brief message from the guy/gal that took the time to improve your search rate. --Jon Pyre 19:03, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
    Can't you kust say "here's a generator, have fun guys!"--SeventythreeTalk 19:11, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, who gives a flying ta-hoot who placed a gennie, for Grud's sake? Erm...nobody. Check the kill votes. --Funt Solo QT Scotland flag.JPG 20:45, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
Just goes to show why the suggestion sucks. Most people will not use it for that purpose, think before suggesting.--Karekmaps?! 22:51, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
