Suggestion talk:20080425 Penalize URL Actions

Explanation?

What do the '?rise' and '?dump' things do? From the '?rise' page, I think the way they are used is that during a mass attack, a few active humans spam '?dump' to ((hopefully)) dump a body right after it dies. And '?rise' is used by zombies near death to avoid being dumped outside. As it is, neither of these actions actually counts to your IP hits per day, nor costs AP, so people can spam it anyways. And the suggestion wants to make it so spamming f5 doesn't give you an unfair advantage.

Did I get that right?--TagUrIt 05:20, 2 May 2008 (BST)

They do count as IP hits, every loading of map.cgi, regardless of what follows it, uses 1 IP hit with the exception of Manufacture Syringe which uses 20.--Karekmaps?! 09:15, 2 May 2008 (BST)
Well, if trying to heal people who are already at full life costs 1 AP, why not going around looking for bodies to dump, or standing up taller? The way I see it, when a survivor kills a zombie, it should have that moment where it gets to dump the body (if it reacts swiftly) after that hard work. ?rise is a zombie abuse that nullified the survivor's chance to dump the body. ?dump is just a counter-abuse. Without ?rise (which I do consider an abuse due to the time benefit that seems unintended through normal play), ?dump would be practically useless anyhow. As I've always believed, this game was given a GUI for a reason, that it be played with the clickable buttons, not URL cheats/shortcuts. Oh, and the IP hits barely matter unless a rising zombie goes nuts with it.--Kolechovski 16:38, 6 May 2008 (BST)
Difference being you do get a reward for healing someone at full life, you're just not realizing it. If you can't see life healing someone at full life is giving you information. If you can see life it's basically the same as DNA Extractoring a survivor or reading a newspaper.--Karekmaps?! 05:59, 8 May 2008 (BST)
