Press Of Bodies (Edit)

Timestamp: MrAushvitz 23:06, 30 September 2006 (BST)
Type: New Zombie Skill
Scope: More powerful zombies can encourage tactics that grant less powerful zombies +1% to hit barricades!
Description: Press Of Bodies

Zombie skill, requires level 10+ to purchase. Appears under a seperate new skills tree.

Your deep resounding groans encourage less experienced zombies to press themselves against buildings, rocking back and forth against the barricades.

Game Mechanics:

  • All zombies at your location that have 3 or less zombie skills have a 1% bonus with their claw attacks against barricades.
  • This bonus only works if your zombie (with this skill) is standing outdoors of a building, if you leave or are killed/revived these lower level zombies do not get this bonus.
  • This bonus is not culmatitive! they only get a max. of +1% to hit with claws on barricades, period.
  • All zombies that get this bonus will see a red PRESS on this location's description, so they will know this bonus is in effect (and may choose to stay and attack this building!)

There, nice and simple.. very powerful zombies can buff low level zombies into a more respectable destructive mob. But it only helps the really low level zombies so usually it will mean claw attacks of 25% now 26% and 35% now 36%.. but every little bit helps! It should help lower level Z's get indoors a bit more often, and hopefully get some XP before their complimentary headshot/dump outside.

Keep Votes

  1. Author Keep Simple enough, always on, just stand up. And point!MrAushvitz 23:06, 30 September 2006 (BST)
  2. I like its simpleness.--Thari TжFedCom is BFI! 23:15, 30 September 2006 (BST)
  3. Keep - Carries with it the standard objection to any skill helping out new zombies (fear of zerg abuse), but this seems fine. I like it, in any case. --Rgon 00:11, 1 October 2006 (BST)
  4. Keep - anything to pep up a low level zombies dull, pointless gameplay -Dog Deever TNec 00:43, 1 October 2006 (BST)
  5. Keep - Most of my votes are influenced by what Jon Pyre has to say. Usually, because he rocks. In this case, he points out that 2 Zs can take down a fully barricaded building. He neglects to point out that most newbie Zs won't have the skills needed to do this. Help a newbie. And to those saying 1% is trivial, I say 5% is broken. Barricades don't need to be significantly weaker, but newbie Zs need every incentive to horde they can get. - David Malfisto 03:16, 1 October 2006 (BST)
  6. Keep - I like it. Nicks 07:06, 1 October 2006 (BST)
  7. Keep - Very nearly an "abstain", but I don't see any reason against this (two zerg zeds will surely set off the zerg flag anyway?) --Karloth vois RR 12:27, 1 October 2006 (BST)
  8. Keep - This "buffing" low level zombies thing could become it's own skill tree. Numbers and fear are a zombie's greatest weapon. --CrimsonD 14:03, 1 October 2006 (BST)
  9. CrabCake - Sure 1% isn't a lot, but wouldn't it make the game more Fun to know you were helping out the little guys? --Officer Johnieo 14:51, 1 October 2006 (BST)
  10. Keep - This looks like a neat idea.--Labine50 MHG|MalTel 21:10, 1 October 2006 (BST)
  11. Keep - no objections from me. --Kiltric 00:03, 3 October 2006 (BST)
  12. Keep - Definitely an interesting idea. Zombies need more love -- bashing barricades can be pretty thankless. --DeathToSpam 22:28, 3 October 2006 (BST)

Kill Votes

  1. Kill - You know what, MrAushvitz, No. I do not like this. Whenever someone makes a survivor-only suggestion people absolutly spam it, saying it's imbalancing, but when someone suggests a indifferent/zombie suggestion, they absolutly praise it. No, Just No.--Canuhearmenow Hunt! 00:13, 1 October 2006 (BST)
    • Re Don't worry, it won't be long before I get another "itch" to take another crack at the hunring rifle, bear traps, landmines, and the like. Or some decent gebroni survivor skills. It's fisting time may get implimented, someday. MrAushvitz 00:57, 1 October 2006 (BST)
      • Re - Sorry, needed to get the Bitching out of the system.--Canuhearmenow Hunt! 01:17, 1 October 2006 (BST)
    • Re I feel your pain, shit I'm half tempted to create a "Adolescent" survivor character who gets a slinghot with unlimited ammo! Zombie kids are sooo cute! MrAushvitz 01:23, 1 October 2006 (BST)
  2. Kill - I got enough troubles with zombies - I don't mind their (un)lives being more interesting, but in my experience, they take down the 'cades just fine. --Funt Solo 00:24, 1 October 2006 (BST)
  3. Kill - Good in principle, but buff the bonus to maybe 5%.--Gage 00:55, 1 October 2006 (BST)
    • Re It's possible that since this is a seperate skills tree this could be the "noob zombie zerg tree" and maybe a 2nd skill down the road allows your presence to be culmative, up to 5% maximum.. but for now 1%.. what the hell. MrAushvitz 00:59, 1 October 2006 (BST)
  4. Kill - I too like the general thrust of this idea, but Gage is right, +1% is underwhelming. And even for the first in a tree of skills. --IrradiatedCorpse 01:06, 1 October 2006 (BST)
    • Re I know, but this is a starting skill, we have to see what effect it has on the game 1st.. if after a month it proves to be really weak, well then we can suggest buffing it up to 3-5%. I really don't want to mess with barricades too much just in certain situations. MrAushvitz 01:11, 1 October 2006 (BST)
  5. Kill - 1% is NOTHING. Hell even a flare gun with skill has a higher chance. There IS potential for abuse (a zombie just needs Vigour Mortis and Death Grip to be "maxed out" against barricades and that can occur at level 2. And if the other skill is Memories of Life?) at higher %, so there is THAT problem.--Pesatyel 05:49, 1 October 2006 (BST)
  6. Kill - As canuhearmenow, and also because its such a tiny bonus its just useless.--Mr yawn 06:48, 1 October 2006 (BST)
  7. Kill - Tiny as 1% may seem if most zombies in a mall seige got a bonus of 1% it would build up and be overpowered and give zombies the advantage. We don't need this. Barricades are survivors protection, lets keep them that way. --MarieThe Grove 10:23, 1 October 2006 (BST)

Spam/Dupe Votes

  1. Spam Stop suggesting skills with piddling little effects. 1% here or there won't make a difference. And barricades don't need to be weaker. Two zombies can break one down from maximum. But mainly spam for suggesting something so trivial it's a waste of space. If you're going to suggest something suggest something that is actually something new. Not a random eeny weeny buff. --Jon Pyre 01:44, 1 October 2006 (BST)
    • Re I suggest new things all the time. MrAushvitz 05:02, 1 October 2006 (BST)
  2. Spam As Pyre. Actually, day before yesterday I broke down the Blackmore cades with 35 AP. Your suggestion does nothing, and if you modify it to boost the bonus to something significant I vote Kill because cades don't need to be nerfed. Rheingold 02:57, 1 October 2006 (BST)
    • Re Actually, you kinda made my point for me. It shouldn't be any higher because I don't want to nerf barricades, just to help buff low level zombies if they mob up. Which shows why the bonus is so low, doesn't do much for you, but it's a big deal to them.. that'll do! MrAushvitz 05:00, 1 October 2006 (BST)
  3. Eat a crab! - You are making zergers very happy. Now all a zerger has to do is create several level 10 zombies, then make a lotta low level zombies, and *POOF!* they get an attack bonus. Currently, it's useless if you're not a zerg, and if you do make it that useful, then the zergers will be more raampant than ever. People have bypassed the zerg flag via proxies, people. This suggestion is broken. --Gold BladeVote Abstain! 15:37, 1 October 2006 (BST)
