The following rules have been established for policy changes for the suggestions page:

  1. Proposal for Policy Change
A Proposal for Policy Change is to be defined as being either:
    1. A motion put forward, with the intent to alter an existing policy, or existing policies.
    2. A motion put forward, with the intent to create a policy where none previously existed.
  2. Creating a Proposal for Policy Change
A Proposal for Policy Change must be:
    1. Well written, with clear concise English.
    2. Signed and dated by the submitter.
    3. Placed under a seperate heading of Category_talk:Suggestions.
  3. The Democratic Process
The following stipulations apply to opening or closing voting on the proposal:
    1. Before voting can be opened, you will allow a minimum of 24 (twenty-four) hours to discuss the proposal.
    2. If you wish to alter a proposal — in light of comments you get, new ideas, and for clarity — you may only do so before voting has opened.
    3. Voting is held under a sub-heading of the Proposal's main heading.
    4. You may only open voting for 1 (one) proposal per week.
    5. You may choose to withdraw your proposal. Withdrawing a proposal does allow you to submit a new one. Multiple proposals from the same submitter that are submitted within less than 1 (one) week of each other are free to be deleted by anyone.
The following stipulations apply to voting on the proposal:
    1. There are three votes, "Yes", "No", and "Spam". If the proposal has 5 "Spam" and has no non-author "Yes" votes, it can be deleted by a System Operator.
    2. A proposal for policy change will be voted upon for 2 (two) weeks, and is then closed.
    3. A minimum of fifteen "Yes" votes are required for the Proposal for Policy Change to be successful. Additionally; 2/3 (two-thirds) of all votes must be a "Yes" vote for a Proposal for Policy Change to be successful.
  4. Implementation
    1. Successful proposals must be implemented by a System Operator, even if said System Operator voted against the proposal.
