IS this sh*t really in da game ? o_0

first impressions

There seem to be categories of clothing, so shoes are in a different category from ties etc. There must be at least six categories. --Toejam 00:22, 1 June 2007 (BST)

face(wearfc), head(wearhd), neck(wearnk), shirt(wearst), jacket(wearjt), coat(wearct), trousers(wearts), foot(wearft) --PoisoN 11:35, 1 June 2007 (BST)

I've noticed that. Probably so people aren't wearing forty different shirts at once.--Labine50 MHG|MEMS|DHPD 00:29, 1 June 2007 (BST)

Has anybody checked out mansions yet?--Labine50 MHG|MEMS|DHPD 01:34, 1 June 2007 (BST)

or stadiums? someone should check those out.--'BPTmz 03:12, 1 June 2007 (BST)

What? No baseball caps? What about the gold necklaces? And jerseys? As well as basketball shorts? Can't forget those now can we? --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 04:55, 1 June 2007 (BST)

Actually, Dowdney mall has baseball caps. I'm not sure if this is particular to Dowdney though? --Sweetirony 16:48, 1 June 2007 (BST)
Looks like all malls have baseball caps... or at least dowdney and nichols =) --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 17:17, 1 June 2007 (BST)
The lack of American Football jerseys in this game is a clear indication of the unfair British bias in this game. These silly soccer jerseys won't stay together when a zombiefied linebacker nails you with Feeding Drag. Plus I miss wearing shoulder pads; it makes falling on the ground just a tad easier. Also, if I can't find any Nike-brand Trainers, I'm going to lose my sponsorship contract. --Sexy Rexy Grossman 23:01, 1 June 2007 (BST)
What? No baseball caps with specific team names? What kind of baseball cap is complete without showing a team logo? --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 00:51, 2 June 2007 (BST)

ok so buildings that havent been reported, (im guessing because they have nothing) are as follows

  • Arms-nothing
  • Bank-nothing
  • (office) buildings-Nothing
  • Club-nothing
  • Hotel-nothing
  • Motel-nothing
  • Library-nothing
  • School-nothing

if someone wants to check these out and confirm that they have something/nothing clothes wise. and maybe we should add a short list of places where you can't find clothes at the top of the article.--'BPTmz 05:39, 1 June 2007 (BST)

  • Edit, as others or myself confirm no clothing in said buildings, i will check them off the list.--'BPTmz 09:53, 1 June 2007 (BST)
  • I can confirm that there is nothing to be found in: Libraries, Schools, Hotels, Motels, Banks and Arms. I have added the things I could remember from my visit to the Mansion under a mansion header on the main page. It has nifty clothing - Deyd 15:53, 1 June 2007 (BST)
thanks. now all we need is to check cathedrals and (office) buildings.--'BPTmz 21:11, 1 June 2007 (BST)
There are no clothes in (office) buildings. Pvt Perkins 22:24, 1 June 2007 (BST)
good work. now to just check a cathedral....--'BPTmz 00:44, 2 June 2007 (BST)
ok good work everyone we now have a full list of buildings you can't find clothes in. i'll put work it in the article.--'BPTmz 00:46, 2 June 2007 (BST)
  • The three different stadiums have different sets of clothes in each of them. Pvt Perkins 21:13, 1 June 2007 (BST)

there's nothing of use in this one.

Some buildings will allow to you change your clothes, but there's nothing of use in this one.

changes upon death

I was wearing a NecroTech jacket. Zombies ate me. Now i'm in a blood-flecked NecroTech jacket --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 07:44, 1 June 2007 (BST)

I wonder if that stays after you are revived?--Labine50 MHG|MEMS|DHPD 16:48, 1 June 2007 (BST)
it does.--Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 17:15, 1 June 2007 (BST)

Upon second death blood-flecked turned to bloodstained. And my shirt is now also blood-flecked. --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 10:26, 2 June 2007 (BST)

My black jacket is already torn and blood soaked. I suppose that's because I died a lot =P. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 18:51, 2 June 2007 (BST)

This could be a great way to monitor your character when you've logged out. Put on clean clothes before you log out, and if something gets blood flecked, you know your going to need a revive.--Labine50 MHG|MEMS|DHPD 23:04, 2 June 2007 (BST)

Ha-ha! There are also changes without dying involved. MJS (in zombie form) scratched my sunglasses! Not sure if that's just after claw damage or bite or after tagling grasp or infection - i had all of this (but then healed) --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 18:33, 3 June 2007 (BST)

we should have a report area where we can figure out what does what. It's good stuff to put in the article.--Vista +1 18:35, 3 June 2007 (BST)

My main question / concern / wonder about this is whether items of clothing can be destroyed. If so, that could cause some interesting situations, I'm sure... o_O --Specialist290 20:44, 3 June 2007 (BST)

after next death bloodstained turned to bloodsoaked. i've took a clear one now. also sometimes other stuff (boots, glasses) may not get dirty with blood and sometimes it does get. don't know if this is random or something. --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 10:16, 4 June 2007 (BST)

Design - tables

look how i've done mall section. Does it look good? --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 13:19, 2 June 2007 (BST)

Well the table is still only partly completed, It does safe space, that is a plus, but I've never been a big fan of tables myself. Let's see what other people think.--Vista +1 13:29, 2 June 2007 (BST)
Well, it's certainly orderly enough... but now that I look at it, there's empty spaces for other ties, but none for jackets, coats, trousers, or boots. Is that just a limitation? All in all, though, it's nice.--Andromai 14:09, 2 June 2007 (BST)
For the buildings with a lot of choice it might be workable. but what do you suggest for the buildings that have only one choice?--Vista +1 14:38, 2 June 2007 (BST)
I don't really understand your question. Not needed columns don't need to be added... --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 14:41, 2 June 2007 (BST)
I meant this:
museum staff peaked cap
A lot of the buildings don't have that many choices. Putting everything in tables would be counterproductive. We could split them up in two styles, but I'd rather not do that.--Vista +1 14:57, 2 June 2007 (BST)

I have made a new design for listing clothes in buildings. Have fun using it (and doing the dirty work of fixing the other buildings to it). For more info see Template:Clothes --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 23:18, 3 June 2007 (BST)

So maybe it would also be great to tour through Malton checking clothes in every block... Oh, and also someone should check Malton's unique museum, there might be something special... --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 20:38, 7 June 2007 (BST)

Humble suggestions

I find it unlikely that there would be no clothing in hotels and motels. I am sure that there is much abandoned luggage. I also think that school uniforms should be found in schools. I would love to run around dressed like Angus Young of AC/DC.--Toast Outlaw (no, I do not know how to properly sign my submissions)

Just click Button sig.png on the little toolbar thing. If that happens to be absent for whatever reason, type --~~~~ . Theres also a page for making Clothing Suggestions. --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 02:27, 5 June 2007 (BST)

is it a color? or maybe we should make a list of "different textures". like tweed from the mansions and khaki...--'BPTmz 21:47, 4 June 2007 (BST)

Khaki is a colour, however Tweed is a texture of several different shades of green, red and brown typically. I say for the sake of simplicity, keep it listed as a 'colour'. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 03:21, 5 June 2007 (BST)
thats what i was thinking as well, but i didnt want to start an edit war or something.--'BPTmz 06:02, 5 June 2007 (BST)
khaki is a colour, but it shouldn't be listed in colours list, because it is found only in special encounters - Forts. If you list it in the big list - you then need in almost every entry make a note about "limited to..." list not including khaki --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 06:55, 5 June 2007 (BST)
Then don't put it in. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 07:28, 5 June 2007 (BST)
ok, i've changed section title a bit and added text - now there shoudn't be any more problems --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 11:43, 5 June 2007 (BST)
well i'v got no problems with that. although Khaki isnt just found in forts. you can find it in the zoo as well. but your above reasoning makes sense.--'BPTmz 20:08, 5 June 2007 (BST)

I've thought about it from beginning and now i played around this in my sandbox. Of course, most of repeating text can be easily templated, just tell me what do you think about general layout --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 11:43, 5 June 2007 (BST)

I don't think it's a bad idea. Certainly useful if you are looking for a specific item, and where to get it. Maybe just have links to the different pages? clothes/footware? clothes/headware, etc? --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 11:47, 5 June 2007 (BST)
Sounds great. 1 more approval and i'll go for it --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 12:07, 5 June 2007 (BST)
Ow, by the way i just noticed by opening html of settings page that clothes also have char-codes (for example a NecroTech jacket is ntjt and a blood-flecked pair of black boots is abkbt) - this would fit well in this crossed list --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 12:12, 5 June 2007 (BST)

ok, Clothes/Footwear page is up.--Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 17:16, 6 June 2007 (BST)

Looks good.-- Vista  +1  17:18, 6 June 2007 (BST)

face mask?

These are already in the game, just in a rather obscure location type... --Kevan . so anyone have any clue as to where they might be? kevan made the comment on a opera stye mask suggestion so, i'm not sure if he was talking about the hocky mask or not. --'BPTmz 15:07, 7 June 2007 (BST)

Yeah, I'm a little confused myself. A possible location besides the hockey mask could be Kilingback Cinema in Danversbank. When unpowered, the description reads: "You are inside Kilingback Cinema, its dark lobby decorated with posters for a 1930s vampire film". When a generator is available, the description becomes "You are inside Kilingback Cinema, a 1930s vampire film playing on its main screen". The film is, of course, Bela Lugosi's Dracula. Sounds arty to me. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 15:40, 7 June 2007 (BST)
I doubt it, vampires don't do facemasks. Any cinema's that have the phantom of the opera?-- Vista  +1  16:19, 7 June 2007 (BST)
Perhaps a drama school?-- Vista  +1  16:21, 7 June 2007 (BST)
Not that I know of. He also said an obscure location type. I think he was just talking about Hockey masks, which are really quite different from what I am suggesting. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 16:22, 7 June 2007 (BST)
I think so too, but stadiums aren't that obscure, They're rare but well known.-- Vista  +1  16:29, 7 June 2007 (BST)
I'm talking about your actual "white facemask", as well as Phantom-style half-face masks. It looks like there are only four citizens who've found them yet, from the database... --Kevan 16:53, 7 June 2007 (BST)
And still no hint. You are making it a real challenge.-- Vista  +1  19:02, 7 June 2007 (BST)

You know, I think all of these items are a great opportunity to create a few sub-building types. Such as one or two drama schools, a police academy, fire academy, a few collages etc. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 16:25, 7 June 2007 (BST)

That would be cool. We should ask how much work that would be. Then if this has run it's course we could start suggesting small changes in the map into that vain.-- Vista  +1  16:29, 7 June 2007 (BST)
It's not too much work, and it's something I've been wanting to start tinkering with for a while - I'm just a bit wary of messing up references in other places (particularly third-party maps, and groups who've built a lot of backstory around a particular building), if blocks suddenly start being renamed and repurposed.
Maybe it'd be okay if I was only changing buildings which had neither inhabitants nor Google results, but for anything more than adding "Drama" in front of "School", I should probably implement a canonical in-game city map first. --Kevan 16:53, 7 June 2007 (BST)
Well due to the suburb map and location block project, we actually have a good reference set for backstories and building history most of the time. It would be easy enough have the suggestion require that people whould name and check the blocks involved.-- Vista  +1  17:04, 7 June 2007 (BST)

For really unique items we can use this Template:SpecialClothes. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 21:03, 7 June 2007 (BST)

quoting kevan talking about the opera mask The buildings also contain clothes that are much too small to wear... maybe it's at Impressionist Puppets Museums?--'BPTmz 00:05, 8 June 2007 (BST)
*snaps fingers* Aha! I like that. I'll have a look around at museums then. Anywhere else that would have small clothes in an 'obscure location type'? --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 02:24, 8 June 2007 (BST)
Wich type of museum is "...currently displaying an extensive collection of toys"?-- Vista  +1  12:13, 8 June 2007 (BST)
Impressionist Puppets Museums, I believe. Is the mask there? --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 12:17, 8 June 2007 (BST)
Wouldn't that be "…currently displaying an unusual exhibition of impressionist puppets"? And I wouldn't know. I just took the description of the building page. I though a toy museum could also qualify. doll clothes and all.-- Vista  +1  12:21, 8 June 2007 (BST)
Dunno then, it's not a type listed on the museum page. Maybe a new type we missed? A little tweak by Kevan? What can you loot from there? --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 12:22, 8 June 2007 (BST)
I don't know. they're not listed in the loot page.-- Vista  +1  13:39, 8 June 2007 (BST)

Damage to zombie's clothes

Is it true that clothes worn by zombies don't take any damage when they are killed? I think it is quite strange seeing my human alts with bloodstained and cracked chlothes when they die once and my zombie alt runs around with perfectly clean clothing after dying 10 times and more.

Maybe this is to avoid all zombie clothing to degenerate to rags, but it's very strange nonetheless.--Dr. Guedner

I think zombie clothes can get scuffed or torn when the zombie is killed, but do not get blood stained. Which make sense, as zombies do not bleed; all the blood is clotted, which is what causes rigor mortis (and, one assumes, vigor mortis).
However, I play a zombie with brain rot who does indeed have bloodstained clothing. Its just not HIS blood. Zombie clothes get bloody when the zombie kills a survivor. . . . swiers 15:01, 1 July 2007 (BST)

Really? My zombie kills survivors all the time - and sometimes he gets killed, but his clothes don't get scuffed, torn or bloody... strange --Dr. Guedner

My character's been killed four or five times as a zombie since the clothing thing was added, and his clothes suffered no damage. However, after he got revived and died as a survivor his shirt disappeared. Anyone else have that happen?--Jiangyingzi 21:54, 5 July 2007 (BST)
Yes, I have had that happen. It was a bug, apparently now fixed. Strike Boy is also shirtless, and has brain rot. Shame, it ruins his "urchin schoolboy" look. . . . swiers BigEYEwitnessLOGO.png 23:59, 5 July 2007 (BST)

TargetZombie made a good comment about paper hats in Clubs. Maybe they should be listed as special clothes on the bottom of the page instead of "big list"? --Duke GarlandTLCD SSZ 07:54, 4 July 2007 (BST)

Special Clothes

Copied from Template talk:SpecialClothes – please reply at that page.

A-HA! Was just hit by a better way to do this: Combined the notes sections from each {{SpecialClothes}} listed at Clothes#Special Clothes into a notes table below the templates, and put the bottom margin on that table. Special Clothes now almost exactly resembles a {{Clothes}} block, apart from the order of the clothing... but that's for chronological reasons, I'm sure. —Revenant talk 14:54, 8 July 2007 (BST)

Sneaky clothes update

I've just found some pieces of neckwear which aren't on the list in St. Matthew's Cathedral. They're the following:

  • a crucifix neclace
  • a set of rosary beads
  • a silver medallion of Saint Matthew

I don't know if they're in the other cathedrals as well, so I've decided to post it here. --Havelock 13:14, 24 August 2007 (BST)

Awesome! More clothes implemented. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 03:17, 25 August 2007 (BST)
Apparently. I've just actualized Mall section. --Havelock 09:20, 25 August 2007 (BST)

They were implemented very sneakingly about 1-3 weeks ago. Looks like i'll need to make another voyage to update all stuff. p.s. there are rumours of another "hidden store" - this time footware, in stickling. but apperently stickling is ransacked right now, so i'm not able to check --~~~~T''' 09:41, 25 August 2007 (BST)

  • Toe tags for footwear and nurse's gown for shirts (for shirts?) in Hospitals and Fort Infirmaries --~~~~T''' 10:45, 25 August 2007 (BST)
    • Toe tags also in NTs and NTs have more shoes
  • Fort Vehicle Depot, possibly Auto Shops/Factories/Power Stations too: a pair of steel toe-capped boots, black and brown boots --~~~~T''' 11:00, 25 August 2007 (BST)
  • a crucifix neclace & set of rosary beads in all churches. Looks like a silver medallion of <name> are named stuff for cathedrals, just like mall shirts, fort tags and power station overalls --~~~~T''' 21:33, 25 August 2007 (BST)
  • a grey short-sleeved shirt in NT buildings --Havelock 16:43, 26 August 2007 (BST)
  • ankh necklaces, a studded leather collars and <colour> stiletto heels in all malls --~~~~T''' 17:20, 26 August 2007 (BST)
  • I just found an emerald necklace in Alner Mansion, which I can't see listed on the clothes page anywhere (I'm not sure if it's unique to Alner, as none of my characters are near any other mansions) --Matt Spencer CDF 11:05, 18 September 2007 (BST)
Yup, looks like all of them might have extra special necklaces. Curton has ruby necklace --~~~~ [talk] 15:33, 27 September 2007 (BST)

Where Can I Get White Robes?

OK, I've read that white robes have been implemented (Clothes/Implemented#White_Robes, Clothes/Suggestions#Whites_Robes) but I can't find them. Anyone know where these can be found? Clay5x 12:27, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Hm... they didn't appear in Cathedrals, they didn't appear in puppet museums... strange. i'll leave Kevan a message on his talk page --~~~~ [talk] 13:55, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Ha-ha, i found white robes. --~~~~ [talk] 21:24, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
So does anyone know any way to pick these up as a survivor, rather than starting with them as a zombie? I've seen plenty of white robes in churches and religious institutions, like these, these, these, and these. --Clay5x 03:17, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Never mind. Just checked Kevan's talk page, he says they were supposed to appear in cathedrals and the bug is fixed now, in case anyone else was wondering. --Clay5x 03:23, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

I noticed my character's trousers had become 'charred' (A charred and tattered pair of black trousers), probably after I was hit by a flare (after being fuel soaked). I can find no mention of clothes being charred on this page, or any other kind of burn damage. Perhaps there are more? Profile link for you to see is 1745210. --ORakoon 15:09, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
