LibrarianBrent

I actually retract my previous complaint. I'd much rather discuss people's thoughts on LibrarianBrent and his huge amounts of Bias. Thoughts? -- Amazing 02:59, 16 Dec 2005 (GMT)

Ok, here are my thouhts: What are you talking about? What "huge amounts of Bias"? Also why should this forum for a personal (and biased) grudges remain on the Wiki? From what I have seen of LibrarianBrent contribution (which is public record, just like Amazing's contributions) he has been a fair moderator practicing sound judgement in his duties. --Matthew-Stewart 23:24, 16 Dec 2005 (GMT)

Well, I assumed I could make a Wiki page based on a subject. Forgive me if I am misunderstanding the point of a wiki. Also if you have not experienced any bias in LibrarianBrent following you around and commenting to goad you into an argument then this isn't a place for you to comment unless you just want to add unrelated remarks without being a party involved. -- Amazing 04:05, 17 Dec 2005 (GMT)
Please take this to Moderation/Misconduct if you feel that you have a legitimate complaint against me, Amazing. --LibrarianBrent 05:22, 17 Dec 2005 (GMT)
I created a page where anyone can post a complaint like anyone can post a Suggestion on the Suggestion page. I don't believe you have the actual justification to tell people what pages they can or can not add to the Wiki when it comes to a universal place for all users to air their thoughts or feelings on a subject. -- Amazing 03:02, 19 Dec 2005 (GMT)
Regardless, we do have designated places for various topics (eg Suggestions go to Suggestions, etc). Moderation/Misconduct is where complaints against Moderator actions should go, where the rest of the Moderators (and other interested users) can decide whether the complaint calls for action against the Moderator. This was set up specifically for these sorts of circumnstances - You're effectively duplicating effort, Amazing. -- Odd Starter talk | Mod 03:10, 19 Dec 2005 (GMT)
Oh! Also, there's a slight issue in that putting your complaints here accomplishes nothing, whereas using Moderation/Misconduct may actually get some action accomplished. -- Odd Starter talk | Mod 03:23, 19 Dec 2005 (GMT)
You're assuming I wanted Brent punished. This is a complaint page, not a page where people ask Moderators for action. Absolutely nothing is duplicated.
As you said yourself, "To be honest, I think there's some usefulness in having a place for protest" -- Amazing 03:08, 20 Dec 2005 (GMT)
And of this point, I'm not entirely sure that the format you've decided to use is an appropriate one for it. The fact that there's a need for such a place does not, in itself, mean that anything serving that need is worth keeping around. I submit that while this page may have some sort of utility in allowing grievances to be aired, the way in which you are using this utility is mean-spirited and counter-productive. A complaints page, I think, should be more a constructive place, where grievances are not only aired, but rationally looked at, solutions found, and complaints (as much as can be done) be neutralised. Note that corporations have complaints lines ostensibly to help them identify what needs improving, so they can make an attempt at doing so.
From what I can tell, this page makes no attempt to do this at all. It is simply a forum for users to attack other users, apparently without fear of reprisals, because "hey, it's where it belongs!". Frankly, I don't think that such a page is at all welcome on a wiki. -- Odd Starter talk | Mod 09:14, 20 Dec 2005 (GMT)
Please feel free to re-form this page as you see fit.
I admit this seems like a whining page, but I really saw people having problems with certain aspects of the Wiki, its users, and the game itself (Note the Strike and the comandeering of the Suggestion Page as a Complaint page. Hello?) and I wanted to be the devil's advocate who created the place for all these currently scattered and haphazard thoughts to be consolidated and easily monitored/understood.
Am I correct in assuming that if I put all current text except the Welcome on this page's Discussion Page and kept the main page to simply: "Bob323 has made a complaint about School Overcrowding" or whatever.. that you could not or would not continue to threaten deletion of this page? -- Amazing 18:12, 20 Dec 2005 (GMT)
I think that deletion would still be appropriate because any complaint can be better served on the appropriate talk page. --LibrarianBrent 18:50, 20 Dec 2005 (GMT)
Once again there is nothing to be 'served'. This is a page to make note of complaints without asking for punishment of others or arbitration. You're still ignoring that willfilly to suit your desire. -- Amazing 03:32, 21 Dec 2005 (GMT)

Purpose of this page

What good is a complaints page when it serves no purpose other than allow uses to let of steam? Besides, in a NPOV place such as a wiki, a page that is complete devoted to POV items has no place. POV items should really go into your user page, or to the discussion pages. That is my complaint for the day. My apologies in advance for posting a POV item on a NPOV page. --Nov 03:30, 20 Dec 2005 (GMT)

Suggestion page votes are POV. "What good is a complaints page when it serves no purpose other than allow uses to let of steam?" answers itself. :) -- Amazing 04:03, 20 Dec 2005 (GMT)
That's because the Suggestions section is setup to be POV. Also the suggestion pages serves a purpose (supposedly) for the game. Are you suggesting that the Suggestion pages should be deleted too? How would this page be useful for the general public or the game? If you want to let off steam, there are better places to do so - go for a hike, play some competitive sports, kill some zombies in the game. It's pointless to let of steam here and it serves no purpose on this wiki. --Nov 04:38, 20 Dec 2005 (GMT)
This page is setup to be POV, too. See how that works? I'm clearly not advocating deleting the Suggestion page, just pointing out hypocrisy. I dunno why you're all set on telling others how to let off steam. Heh. Do you want me coming over and telling you that you must do it my way? This is a place for people to archive game events. Nothing more. -- Amazing 06:10, 20 Dec 2005 (GMT)
And how is this complaints page about a sysop a game event? --Nov 14:48, 20 Dec 2005 (GMT)
Loose association since this is a branch of the game. Obvious. -- Amazing 18:08, 20 Dec 2005 (GMT)
This is a branch of the game? I never realised a wiki was a game. --Nov 01:46, 21 Dec 2005 (GMT)
You win the Snideness Award! :D (AKA The Snotty) Being a branch of the game doesn't mean it is a game itself. You already know this because you aren't stupid. -- Amazing 03:30, 21 Dec 2005 (GMT)
Yay! I win an award. Do I get bragging rights as well? --Nov 03:39, 21 Dec 2005 (GMT)
Yes, but you have to wear this duck on your head. -- Amazing 06:32, 21 Dec 2005 (GMT)
I hope that wasn't a typo. I'd hate to were your dick on my head. --Nov 07:15, 28 Dec 2005 (GMT)
