Talk:Death cultist

"Death cultist" is pejorative. I can just as easily make an argument that playing as both human and zombie is in the "spirit of the game". In any case, simple willingness to play as whatever side you're on is not really anything like being a zombie spy. --LouisB3 22:35, 22 Nov 2005 (GMT)

I agree. I believe the key difference is death cultist's let themselves die when convient (like when they have enough XP for a zombie skill) or work to advance zombie goals while alive. Survivors who fight tooth and nail to stay alive when alive and work against zombies but play feral zombies when dead are not death cultists. Gaining XP using FAK so your hive mind horde can gain more xp for eating you IS death cultist activity.--Matthew-Stewart 23:47, 22 Nov 2005 (GMT)

So it sounds like death cultist activity as most describe it is more like "zombie spies who do other things for their zombie buddies besides spy" than what the page currently states. Am I right? --LouisB3 00:46, 23 Nov 2005 (GMT)

That sounds about right, except specifically death cultists also sure as zombie troops when they die, not the disposable 1st level scouts most people are familiar with as the classic zombie spy. The death cultists jobs could be as simple as "get a flak jacket and gain xp to buy skills useful as a zombie then die", also it has a more "apocalypic cult" and less cold war "commie spy" connotation. --Matthew-Stewart 01:05, 23 Nov 2005 (GMT)

Okay, I'm going to take a shot at this now. If I get anything wrong, I hope someone with a greater understanding of the connotations of slang than mine will correct it. --LouisB3 01:11, 23 Nov 2005 (GMT)

Not bad, not bad at all. Good revision. Helps clarify how they are different from normal survivors.--Matthew-Stewart 02:29, 23 Nov 2005 (GMT)
