Barricade Plan

The Dentonside Regulars would like to update the barricade plan. Originally all schools were entry points, but we no longer think that's a good idea. We would like to change it so Barnete School is EHB since the police station right next to it is VS+2 and there's no since having two entry points next to each other.

Suggestion For Simplicius General Hospital

I was just wondering, if we are going to have a bulletin board in the page for Simplicius General Hospital, could we try and date the bulletins? It's good to know how old the bulletins are, because as an example there is a request for survivors to help defend the building, and it's rather useless if the bulletin is out of date by several days, weeks or months, which it could most probably be for all we know...

--Badwolf robotics--talk-Dentonside Power- 12:26, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Badwolf, I was just thinking that same thing about those bulletins. They are all very old, like over a year. They probably should be dated, or removed if they no longer apply. We Zomburbians may add something from our point of view if the bulletin board is kept on the page, as we are quite attached to this building.Mads 17:25, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
If you touch the Moorse Cinema Bulletin Board, then it's just going back up. The Regulars won't like it a bit. John Raymond 18:58, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

Please Keep your posts on the wiki page neutral

Please remember to keep all news posts to NEWS. Not propaganda for any type of group. I know i may be labelled a hypocrite as I have done it a few times before. But the Dentonside wiki page is not for propaganda and this is what its devulging to. --Nimrod1 talk-DDF- 21:28, 3 June 2007 (BST)

This place is nothing but a DDF Propaganda page man....lol....yeah both DDF and my Dentonside Regulars have done a lot of propaganda but so has everyone else. I agree.

News format

We had it for some time like that and I think we should stick to it. It's way easier to read the news like that. Also in my opinion it's up to the user if he writes down his name on the news or not. Actually it shouldnt matter since this news should be facts and not opinions.

Barricading Plan

  • The two barricade plans listed on this page are in conflict with each other. Please remedy.--Kierson 07:07, 17 May 2008 (BST)
  • Ya' know, your supposed to have a 2:1 EHB:VSB ratio. Also, barricading all resource buildings to EHB is very hard on new players. Even as is, it's badly thought out, like that strip of 5 VSB buildings in a row, and a huge clump of EHB in the middle. If your that worried about supplies, there's a mall & a fort nearby that could use help.--Labine50 MH|ME|'07 22:50, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
  • we need certain buildings constantly caded. new player must work their way to suburbs like rhodenbank where it is calm to get thier points. dentonside is pker and zombie ridden, and i have to help it...those 5 buildings are not needed. and the mall and fort are not in certain group hq turf. --X
  • The X is right. I wish we could keep things at VS+2 but unfortunately this suburb is under constant assault. We have barely enough survivors to keep the suburb barricaded at all. --James C Blake 02:38, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
  • although my group tries to help, we are constantly under assualt by pkers who hate our dark humor [we will change flag soon...-X
  • We can't even hold them when their all EHB. This suburb doesn't have enough people - Dentonside Regulars
  • Every time I pass by the Maney Lane Police Department and the Horsey Square Fire Station they are both VS+2 barricaded and occupied with humans. I guess the PD is safe because there is quite an amount of survivors in there and the Fire Station is simply not an attractive target. Since the inhabitants seem want to keep them VS+2 I'd say we change the barricading plan: Barnete Row School and Swale Towers become EHB again and the PD and FS VS+2. What do you guys say? --James C Blake 15:41, 16 April 2007 (BST)

Lack Of Survivors?!

So how do we entice new and older players to come to Dentonside instead of leaving the suburb?

  • Well we could try and form a barricading plan for the suburb that everybody agrees on and finds acceptable!
  • Try to have small groups of people (2 or 3) barricading individual buildings across the suburb.
  • Try and weed our immoral people from the suburb... (Cyber rapists and the like)
  • Have more people working at the revive points.
  • Have more people working in the hospital.

Now these are all my ideas but you need to come up with some too! Yes some of my ideas sound horribly bad but most of them will work with a little effort from the existing people in the suburb.

The second idea isn't that hard, I have personally undertaken that task at the Warehouse 92,56 with Nimrod 1... It only took a day or two to clear out any zombies nearby, barricade the building to EHB and get some lights on inside. So that can just show you what some survivors and a little effort can do! So I hope to see some more ideas and more people working together for a better tomorrow!

Please leave your name in this list if you are pledging your name forward to this.

  • --Nimrod1 17:56, 23 July 2007 (BST)
  • --Badwolf robotics talk-DDF- 03:13, 30 July 2007 (BST) -- (Well it was my idea in the first place!)
  • -- John Raymond 16:49, 31 July 2007 (BST) -(We already have a place tp report immoral people on the Dentonside Regulars forum. I think we could use it to report all the PKer and Cyber Rapist in the Suburb. I also put together the Dentonside Police Department, a branch of the regulars, to weed these people out. The reason for the lack of survivors is that we are rebuilding the suburb after it was taken over. I find it kind of funny that the guys here signing this are the leaders of the Dentonside Defense Force, Dentonside Power and the Dentonside Regulars.)

Other comments

Just thought it would be easier to place the comments here instead of flooding the Pledging area with them...

  • Well John this suburb is always "Rebuilding" Its a literal mess mainly caused by there being nobody to clean it up. The lack of population really does cripple the suburb and the only people that probably will or can place there name in the petition is members/leaders of the 3 groups you mentioned! I honestly think that the only way to kill the lack of population off is to make more Pull factors and remove what Push factors we can.

PS. Why is the DDF link defunct?

--Badwolf robotics talk-DDF-Dentonside Power- 04:30, 2 August 2007 (BST)

Because their now The Malton Commando Corp. I forgot about that.

--John Raymond 21:41, 4 August 2007 (BST)~

  • I acknowledged the struggle that the DDF and Regulars have had. Promptly i encouraged our members of the Light Knights to focus our efforts around Dentonside. As i looked into Zomburbia and what it stands for - i discovered that an unwelcome element to fair play within the suburb exists - the infiltrator. As a pk'r is known with skill and by name, thats what they want - people to fear them as an individual(and thats cool), a GK'r/RPK'r is known likewise - by name, however Infiltration is different. The element of trust to ones name as an idea on their intentions is thrown out the window - you simply cannot trust anyone. The only answer i can come up with is to change the ethos to the groups and what they stand for. ie make Dentonside truely a place not to venture into - become ruthless yet righteous to allegiance. Adopt a tougher stance to unknown entities by killing anything that does not identify - making players choose a side or leave the surburb. I would like to see how this suburb grows from here, as there is something different about the struggle between the powers at play, being that mix of players who choose to sleep with the enemy, 'the infiltrator' - quite different to a freelancer. Change the ethos of the Regulars. Take the hard line on acceptance to unknown playernames within the suburb. Become nasty, utterly disgustingly ruthless - or weeding out those who betray you will never happen.. the upside is that people will choose to become either DDF, Dentonside Regular or apart of Zomburbia, either way numbers within the groups will grow and the rightful heirs to the suburb will prevail.

Dentonside Defence Plan

I was thinking if this barricade plan could be put forward as a defence plan instead. If you read the following paragraphs it makes a lot of sense.

Dentonside.jpg

First we have to clear, if we have enough manpower at all to do this. But I thought we could have this 4 districts, each to be watched by one person, who checks the zombies in the streets and rebarricades his district if neseccary. About the districts:

Yellow: Tolman, reviving points, etc. Many fights, always some zeds around. That's why it's so small, it can be easily watched with binoculars form the Bransom Building. I included Elvins Auto Repair because it's the fuel source to Tolman.

Purple: Not that many builidings and as much as I remember neither many zeds nor humans are there. Basically just checking barricades and watching with binoculars form the Kingham Building.

Red: Many buildings, probably many zeds because of the fire station, the PD and the Denner Towers. Needs probably two guys to keep it in shape.

Blue: Main job to rebarricade the hospital, since the PD and the rest ist usually populated and secure.

Every district has it's transmitter to warn the others if there is a larger mob somewhere or a major break in (I say major because like with Tolman, all we would do is broadcasting if we do this with all break ins). Although sharing a transmitter like in the fire station wouldnt be bad either. For the Tolman district, I guess this is fine, since we are doing nothing else all the time than this! The question is, if we have enough people to spare some for this task and can still protect buildings like Tolman.

Dentonside Plan of Action

Ok, ive been around these parts for around 1 and a half years and im one of the few who has stuck with Dentonside through dark and dangerous times. We need a plan of action, we need all the survivors to work as a team and help each other. Dentonside Power has resumed operations in the suburbs and will be organising this.

I've decided to list the main problems this suburb has.

#1. Lack of Survivors. Dentonside is a ghost town.

#2. Lack of Teamwork/communication amongst survivors.

  • Because of the lack of survivors it is vitally important that the remaining ones work as a team and communicate effectively. This means that the Dentonside building information centre must be regularly updated so that survivors can see which buildings are safe and which buildings need assistance.

#3. Survivors spread too thinly amongst buildings.

  • We only have the numbers to make a resistance in certain buildings in the suburbs. We need to prioritize defence of buildings.

How the plan is going to work

Basically 5 main buildings and their entry points will be prioritized for defence.

  1. 1. Simplicius General Hospital
  2. 2. Edkins Auto repair
  3. 3. Winsley avenue police department
  4. 4. The tribe Building (NT) (Houldenbank)
  5. 5. Tolman Power station.

If these buildings are defended and a regular power supply given to them we then have the main framework for a working suburb. Please add your names of support to the bottom of this post. Thank you.

--Nimrod1 20:56, 3 August 2008 (BST)

I'm new, but I agree with you in all ways. I am in the libary to the southeast of Winsley PD, and I remember seeing some zombies outside and the doors thrown wide open. Is there a safe location that survivors can gather and organize? (Maybe form a Dentonside survivors group?) --TheMonkeyMon707 09:04, 4 August 2008 (BST)

As far as I know The Tribe Building Necrotech in northern houldenbank will be used as a point at which to attack and organise.

--Nimrod1 18:31, 4 August 2008 (BST)

Nimrod, I'll help you anyway I can. I'll be waiting at Crowley for the revive. Its time to bring some peace back to this suburb.

--Jon Stone 17:48, 7 August 2008 (BST)

Excellent, I may have revived you just now. Our priority building for defense just now is Tribe NT in North Houldenbank. It is required to run the revive points in Dentonside. --Nimrod1 08:36, 8 August 2008 (BST)

Great Suburb Group Massacre 2010

All suburb wiki pages are undergoing a clean up to remove inactive groups from the group listing (see here: this suburb's groups). If you are a group currently listed in this suburb, you will be contacted on your group's talk page within the next few days and asked to reply, indicating that you are active in this suburb. Groups that fail to reply within two weeks of being contacted will automatically be removed from the suburbs where they are listed.

We're posting here in the hopes that more groups will be aware of the clean up and can respond appropriately, since our team does not have the time nor the manpower to seek out every group in-game or track down its group members elsewhere on the wiki. If you know that some groups in your suburb do not check the wiki, please be a good neighbor and let them know that they NEED to check it for this, or else they will be unlisted in the near future.

The wiki members coordinating the cleanup will be using the table below to track their progress in communicating with the various groups. Please do not edit it if you are not involved with The Great Suburb Group Massacre 2010 team.
