Officer nominations will now be dealt with in the forums.

Barricade Policy Draft

It should be noted that there is a page, Scarletwood Barricade Policy where the public can discuss the policy. You may want to make public your support if you deem it necessary. BuncyTheFrog 03:26, 4 April 2006 (BST)

I've drawn this up for approval within the GBP before we tell anyone else about it.

My idea for upkeeping this policy is only paint the buildings that are labeled as VS to keep them there, and any other important buildings to the GBP such as the NT and hospitals. If you see a EHB building that's not EHB, get it there, but after checking if everyone there has free-running. If they don't, inform them of the impending change, give them a day, then go back and barricade up to the correct level.

If a VS building is barricaded to EHB and is painted as VS, bring it down immediatley. If it's not, paint it, refer to the policy, and give them a days warning. Come back the next day and knock it back down to what it should be.

So without further ado, here's the draft. Scarletwood Barricades.png

Any thoughts, or changes that you think should be implemented?

  • Of course, I approve this policy, because we need one, but don't really have the presence within Scarletwood to just do things 'cause we want to. In the future it may be good to convert some of the VSs side by side to one of them being EHB, but for the moment let's see how we do with this one BuncyTheFrog 17:58, 3 April 2006 (BST)
  • Is good. Perhaps Bland Auto could be VS as well, as there is a long line of EHB running N to S right there.--*poof* 00:51, 3 April 2006 (BST)
  • I like it. It is strong and gives the appearance of a wall of strongness. It is very centralized to the Garniss and takes priority over the important buildings, while using the lesser ones as an opening. We maybe need to tag the outer buildings with messages that they are in Garniss territory.--Scott Boone 12:51, 3 April 2006 (GMT)
  • I retract my statement. It looks like a fortified city, with a ring wall around the outside. Is good. Now comes the difficult part of implementing and maintaining it. Does it pass for now? Shall it be presented to the leader(s) of the Republic of Scarletwood for a "Yay" or "Nay"? I feel that as long as they are sharing a 'burb with us, they should have a say in matters as grand as this.--*poof* 00:47, 4 April 2006 (BST)
  • Yeah we're gonna tell 'em. We just need Eldest to approve as well. BuncyTheFrog 01:07, 4 April 2006 (BST)
  • Gentlemen, I approve most definitely of these fine plans. Let the construction begin, and may it usher in a new period of protection and progress. Combining this with the potential of a partnership with the New Republic and their business interests, perhaps things could become a tad bit more hospitable around here. I, for one, very much like the idea of sipping martinis behind safely barricaded structures. --Eldest 02:56, 4 April 2006 (BST)
  • My friends, speaking for vOx, I am asking for a minor change in our barricade policy and am bringing it before the officers for review and action. The NT building just north of the Page is listed at VS, but it holds numerous survivors and is a vital asset on our eastern border with Penville. I vote for changing this to EHB and painting such instructions on the inside of the Thompson Building. --Eldest 05:37, 23 April 2006 (BST)
    • I do not know if we should anti-noob another NT building in Scarletwood. If this is such a populated place, how many of the people have free-running? In my opinion, it would be too isolating for them, and detrimental to Scarletwood's SE corner. Unless you can prove me wrong Eldest... BuncyTheFrog Talk GBP 14:02, 23 April 2006 (BST)

Private Revive

It should be noted that if a GBP member is killed, they should wait 1 south of the Garniss (Stayner Road [73, 87]) if they have not already informed another GBP member of their location.

There are many who believe that cemetaries are sacred places and consider them all to be Revive Points. Last I checked, Scarletwood has 1. What say you all on this matter? --*poof* 02:19, 5 April 2006 (BST)

I say we should put that box on our page. I'll go get it. BuncyTheFrog Talk 01:02, 7 April 2006 (BST)

Could I (Andrew Past, UD=536010) get a revive here? I'm new and want to join you guys. (I'm waiting to be accepted at your forums atm.)

BGolan

Hehe, I am being hunted?

Up for a virtual hide and seek?

Buncy The Frog

Personally I see your intrusion as a slight annoyance. Do you know that it takes me a mighty 1 ap to stand? Do you know that we have people in the Garniss more then willing and eager to use 1 ap to get 5 xp? Do you know that your attacks have not slowed the GBP, *poof*, or myself in any way? Personally I see your jackassary as a sign of an immaturity that is either caused by a bad case of boredom or a need to be loved as a loner wandering rejected through the city. We will not tire of our occupation of the Garniss, we have lived in it for all too long, and will not be driven out.

I await your next feeble attempt at trying to destabalize our community. BuncyTheFrog 03:01, 28 March 2006 (BST)

BGolan

All that "do you know" shit is getting old, it's pointless. I don't care about how much is slows you down. Just intrested in making game life a bit more fun. If i wanted to slow you down and kill you all i'd call my (alt's) horde (mota) to your place, it's not like you made any efforts to hide it. "need to be loved as a loner wandering rejected through the city", Take this cheap psych and shove it up your...

Now *poof*'s response, that's more like it. Please hunt me down, and enjoy this while you'r at it. I await the next time you and i meet. Be sure that next time you will be the one laying on the floor and not I.

Scott Boone

So, you finally caught me. I was a tad tricky there, with the whole not being seen. Friggin' ninja style! I figured I was safe, I am still right. With a mighty 1AP, I stood up and got an instant revive.

Eldest

You've been a very busy PKer Mr. BGolan, if that's even your real name. We are coming for you, with our combined strength and our fancy cell phones that fit in our front pockets. Oh, we are so coming for you. I can't wait to see you shaking between my pistol sights. And even better, I so look forward to hacking your then zombified ass all over the street. Beware BGolan! Scarletwood will never be safe for you AGAIN!

A Message From The New Republic

"Hello. This is ShadowScope. I have sent a message to the GBP but I believe it has not been reached. Basically, we have founded a new nation, the Republic of Scarletwood, and we would like to have an alliance. We are not wanting to PK, or anything bad. Rather, we are busy trying to rebuild our economy, to help Scarletwood return back to normal. We have already been succesful restarting a Vodka Factory, and is contiuning to do more economic projects. Our Republic is netural in the Zombie-Human War, and we accept both Zombies and Humans in our ranks, but we do not like our subhurb to be invaded by enemies, zombies or humans. You have experience in defense, and we hope our cooperation will help protect this land.

I await your reply."--ShadowScope 02:16, 28 March 2006 (BST)

I can't speak for everyone in the GBP, but the idea of a vodka factory in Scarletwood sounds perfect! I couldn't think of a more vital commodity to bring. I mean really! What else are we going to do waiting around resting in between zombie hacking and PKer hunting? For whatever my vote counts, I say welcome ShadowScope. The more folk working to better Scarletwood the better this place will be for all of us. --Eldest 03:04, 4 April 2006 (BST)

I guess we shoulda posted something about this in our wiki page, but if you check theirs, we've already accepted with terms (it'd probably be a good idea to read them), and have already started confiscating booze (don't tell them that part). BuncyTheFrog 03:20, 4 April 2006 (BST)

*weighed down by gallons of booze* Ssshhh! You fool, they're gonna catch on! Um... *opens bottle and downs half* uh, Welcome to Scarletwood! I look forward to many a night of boozing with each and every one of you!--*poof* 04:37, 4 April 2006 (BST)

Watchout

The RRF is in East Grayside, We don't know where they are going. --Virus002 01:48, 1 April 2006 (BST)

Thanks-I've got reports of the RRF approaching, I've also got reports of DARIS approaching, so we're on guard. BuncyTheFrog 18:37, 2 April 2006 (BST)

Southern Alliance

Not sure if the GBP does alliances, but we the Southern Alliance are asking for one.

I'm sorry but you mis-understood me, we were never asking you to join us, only to be on friendly terms with one another. And "I scratch your back you scratch mine" kinda deal y'know? --Virus002 01:30, 15 April 2006 (BST)

Great, you can always register on our forum for any information you may need i usually have it all posted. --Virus002 00:38, 16 April 2006 (BST)

Umm err what information would you like BTW got killed in the GBP building. I'm leaning more towards the nasty side of the internet and shutting down all of PH's stuff and hacking accounts and what not. But i'm too nice to do that as it's only a game. --Virus002 23:47, 13 May 2006 (BST)

A missive from the Padre

Greetings from Padre Romero and the entirety of the Malton's Angels, my angels in scarletwood look forward to riding out this crisis with you. I will be dispatching an Angel to meet with you fellows personally within the coming weeks

And again...

Regrettably, I don't understand what has happened here. Whatever has caused this breakdown of Amity, I shall endevor to fix it. Here is where the chips lie. We are not organized like you fellows are, we are a group of childhood friends who seek similar souls from among the population of Malton. Naturally, therefore, I cannot control Mira any more than I can control the Extravaganza, Any more than I can control you. What I can do is inspire, and I'd like to think I have inspired Mira to be a quiet, law abiding girl (well, quiet anyhow). If you want her to obey your policies (which I imagine she will), you'll have to talk to her. If you have any questions about our policies (Which I imagine you do) she probably knows them as well as I do. If you want to discuss an alliance (or whatever the opposite of an alliance is) you have my blessing to do what you will. Many blessings Padre

The PH

I saw you guys have begun killing PH crossing into Scarletwood. Well done. I'm glad to see more Urban Dead groups targeting these low-life pricks. Stay in contact with us, as we have been battling the PH for months now and since they are losing they are resorting to leaving their suburb and hiding in others. Make no mistake; they are PKing scumbags and need to be killed. I personally wish you well and invite you to stay in contact with us on our forum which you can find on our wiki.

Thank you,

Radio template

Cool template, did you make it? Is there any way to use it and change the radio frequency marked on it?

Edit: Ah... nothing a good edit (without actually changing anything) won't fix.

{{RadioFreq|freq=27.86 MHz|coords=*Throughout Scarletwood*}} Thanks, I hope you don't mind me using it...

Not ours, check the radio page; but I'm sure they wouldn't have any qualms about you using it. I think they encourage it actually. -- Buncy T GBP 06:34, 8 June 2006 (BST)

Questions and Answer

An odd word, Cypher. Did you know it can mean both a puzzle or the key to one? We had a question a few days ago, Angels begin to die, which should not happen, even in the worst of worlds. We were confused, and frightened, which men will be even in the best of worlds. But dying will happen in all worlds as well, and while we worried, we willingly welcomed anything the game could throw at us.

Until a little girl who an Angel loved very much was killed. Then we began to look for the answer to our puzzle. It took much time, which could have been spent on grander designs, alas, we have found our answer. And it frightens us even more.

Diaries are such maddening things, aren't they? Even if you have the key to them, they are still such a puzzle. Fortunately, I am very good at puzzles.

Buncys Sign Off

It should be known that my character BuncyTheFrog is no longer to be associated with the GBP in any way; he is leaving Scarletwood and his actions are now truly his own. In due time a replacement will be named.

It should be noted that I am not leaving this group out of shame or humiliation, as one may suspect. I am, in fact, leaving due to the fact that this game has gotten to be very tedious and at times boring to play, because of the size of the GBP and the groups currently vying for power and position within Scarletwood. It was always my vision to be the controlling power in a suburb, and help it grow and thrive. However, the complications caused by the various groups trying to make power-grabs in the suburb have simply exhausted my drive. I will continue playing, but in a different capacity.

To all allies of the GBP: Thank you for your support and understanding throughout our history -- Buncy T GBP 18:37, 12 June 2006 (BST)

News

Well, I look at your "news", and there is no recent entry... What have you been up to these last few months?

News

Speaking on behalf of the Garniss Border Patrol, I would like to extend our thanks to the Malton Rangers and others for their patience while the GBP works through some delicate but internal matters regarding the change in leadership of this group. To the members of the GBP, I want to assure you that any change in our organizational structure will in no way alter our long standing policies that have proven to be so effective in maintaining and defending Scarletwood.

That said, it should be noted that as a group, the GBP does not condone the use of PKing as a reasonable and responsible means of UD game play or as a means to a political end. Buncy has taken full responsibility for the actions of his RP ALT, Cypher Zero, a known Pker in the game, and has accepted the consequences for his (ALT's) actions. His unconditional resignation was submitted and accepted by the GBP membership at large and, while we will truly miss him, his companionship and his leadership, new leaders are stepping forward to take the GBP into the future. Again, speaking on behalf of the GBP, I would like to consider the matter of these Pkings a closed subject and extend our apologies to the Rangers and other injured parties.

Our main concern has always been the general well-being, safety and security of Scarletwood and its inhabitants and this will continue to be our mission. Any other changes in our structure will be of an internal nature and will in no way effect the community at large.

We do not rule out alliances with other groups. What we do ask is consideration for the sacrifices we've made in Scarletwood. When hordes made their way through our suburb, we fought and died to protect Scarletwood without offers of help from other groups. Such offers would not have been refused had they been offered.

As for the outburst heard today on the SBS, I recommend that the Malton Rangers and other interested parties review the entire dialogue on the GBP forum, beginning with Major Grippy's first post outlining the Malton Ranger's plan for a training facility in Scarletwood. While it has been acknowledged that the GBP was not in favor of the proposal the matter was progressing in a civil tone until Gamera interjected. His comments were hostile and antagonistic and frankly, the general members of the GBP feared an all out war with the Rangers over his inflammatory comments. I would also like to point out that Gamera is none other than Victor Tonelli, and we of the GBP are shocked to see such a complete reversal of opinion on the subject of the training facility. I suggest that all comments made by Mr Tonelli be considered unreliable. He has shown a total lack of respect for the chain of command and authority and his loyalty is questionable, conditional and self-serving. Dr Killdare

Generally speaking, I'm understanding of your situation here. I'd like to point out that the GBP need not fear the Rangers nor conflict with them, I'd never condone retaliation against a survivor group for mere words exhchanged (In fact, while some of the Rangers actively bounty hunt and the like, I've never personally attacked any survivor on any grounds). As it stands right now, I suggest we concentrate first on protecting Scarletwood (something I'm sure we hold as a concern in common)- then worry about the diplomatic wrangling.
I seem to be unable to access the GBP forums (although I could never see anything beyond the single thread, anyhow) - is there some way I can better contact you? If not, any member of the GBP is most welcome to track me down over at the newly renamed NMC Forum ([1]) - in fact the GBP as a whole would be welcome to join in the conversations there.
At any rate, I would like to extend my appreciation for your efforts to inform me of recent events.
