Proposed Change

The Order of the Black Rose is proposing a change to the barricade plan for Grigg Heights in light of the changes to the Uniform Barricade Policy. All survivors in the area are encouraged to give input on the proposed plan, which can be found here. --Maverick Talk - OBR Praise Knowledge! 404 06:55, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

The proposed barricade plan changes have changed, although the initial proposal will remain at the above link for reference. The new proposal calls for all Dark buildings to be VSB (or ruined) to serve as entry points into the Free Running network, along with the following buildings at VSB:
  • St. Julius's Hospital
  • Victor General Hospital
  • Lees Boulevard Police Deptartment
As always local input is appreciated as we want a plan that we can all live with. Barring any other proposals (or desire for discussion), the OBR would like to begin implementing this new plan on 1 January 2010. --Maverick Talk - OBR Praise Knowledge! 404 06:34, 17 December 2009 (UTC)
After a fortnight from the initial proposal with still no discussion (and therefore I assume no arguments with either plan), the new barricade plan is considered Approved. --Maverick Talk - OBR Praise Knowledge! 404 05:29, 26 December 2009 (UTC)

Proposed Change take 2!

Griggs has fallen into a ghost town. UD Fark has taken most of it and most survivors have left. EGU is still about as well as a few others. We're using NecroConnect to talk. Futuyama suggested : "I mentioned to some in Griggs already but here is my plan and updated map. Fark have been dominating recently, with large swathes of the suburb in ruins, and regular attacks on Edmund/Haddock and any lit TRP. The low population is hindering survivor efforts, in terms of AP, we can't compete right now. I propose converting a number of buildings into spawning hotspots, to encourage the spawning of new players into the area. These locations would need to be powered and kept at VSB or below. The increased maintenance of the area may also encourage established players to stick around.

Although the influx of new players may not initally turn the tide against Fark, eventually as they level up, it may give us a better chance. Experience in Dulston with a spawning hotspot showed that it can be a success (see here). Most newly spawned players don't log in again after the first day, so they get to be meatshields in our hotspots. Those that do stick around can quite quickly accumulate xp and become effective players. If EGU is able to actively recruit/train it might make more new players stay with the game, and in Grigg Heights.

The map shows the north of Grigg Heights and south of Owsleybank. Outlined in dark blue are three hospitals and two fire stations I think could be spawning hotspots. The brown line shows a potential route between them. [1]"

Opinions?

Haygarth Road to VSB++

I'm proposing the change of Haygarth Row Railway Station to VSB++. This is to accommodate an appropriate free running corridor entry point for survivors. The alternative entry point for survivors attempting to access the south side of Grigg Heights is 2S 1SW, which is less than ideal

Furthermore, it seems like we have a significant number of excessive entry points in the north. I also propose the adjustment of [The Bengefield Hotel]], the Wriford Museum, Grey Bank and Markess Bank to EHB++, in line with the uniform barricade policy. It seems that previous editions of the barricade plan intended to create spawn points for survivors, but these neglected to adjust the barricade plan for surrounding now-redundant entry points. Furthermore, in recognition of the dearth of entry points in the southeast of Grigg Heights, I propose the adjustment of The Pincoffs Building to VSB++. Let me know if anyone has input! I'll make the changes in a week-ish if nobody says anything. I'd wait longer, but it's not as if there's many of us active on the wiki these days. World 'globe (talk) 03:09, 4 March 2016 (UTC)

I'd be fine with it, as Grigg isn't UBP compliant and therefore less resistant to plan changes. I've dropped a line at the EGU forum on NecroConnect, as any changes should probably get their approval (as the main survivor group in the area). Bob Moncrief EBDW! 05:14, 4 March 2016 (UTC)
I think your suggestions are good and would benefit the suburb. Having Haygarth Row Railway Station and The Pincoffs building as entry points would definitely help access in central and southern Griggs.
I understand your concern about there being too many entry points now, however these are not necessarily redundant, and I think The Bengefield Hotel and the Wriford Museum should be left at VSB++. Having an increased number of entry points/buildings at VSB will benefit the area more than maintaining buildings at EHB. Not only does it make the area more friendly to new players, but because of the spawning criteria it also encourages the spawning of military classes.
Lower cades may encourage more frequent break-ins but I think the benefit of potential increase in local population outweighs the inconvenience of repairs. However repairs to the banks, Grey and Markess, may prove more resource costly, requiring a gen and fuel, so I would agree with these being changed to EHB++. Wrentmore could remain uncaded, or also be changed to EHB++. Futuyama (talk) 18:23, 11 March 2016 (UTC)
