UBP Discussion

This is a first template of the barricading plan. All suggestions from local groups are greatly appreciated to make improvements concerning the barricading policy. --John Cannonfodder 10:53, 3 August 2006 (BST)

I would like to see more buildings enterable. while fighting it is hard to go far because it is hard to find an open building.::
I'd like to see one each of neighboring Bridgewater Crescent/Grandon Place Police Depts and Money Row/Bugby Place Fire Stations become EHB as outlined in the UBP. In the case of Money/Bugby I think the replacement of Clevely Grove Railway Station [24,87] as an entry way for that area would still provide plenty of enterable buildings in that quadrant. --Max Grivas JG,T,P! 14:08, 15 August 2006 (BST)
I agree on keeping one of the twin PD’s at EHB so a genny can be hooked up there for survivors with Free Running but without the shopping skills. I suggest 'Bridgewater crescent PD [23,84]. Decading Hind Crescent Station [22,83] would be obsolete as the church 1 block north is already a VSB-building. As for the fire stations… Why would you want a fire station at EHB? It’s not exactly a prime resource building you know… By the way, thank you for moving the cading policy to the discussion page and for the input… You are the first sign of proof that somebody is examining it. *grin* --John Cannonfodder 16:35, 15 August 2006 (BST)
Lockettside's unfortunate lack of Factories make Fire Stations its greatest source of generators. In Lockettside the buildings you administrate have become a prime resource for powering the whole suburb. They provide twice the chance of finding gens as the mall, over thee times without bargin hunting and 10 to 20 times as likely without shopping. --Max Grivas JG,T,P! 20:38, 15 August 2006 (BST)
Ah, of course, then I propose Bugby Place FD [23,88] as EHB-building. This way our VSB-buildings are in the optimum places: almost everywhere there is access to a VSB-building in 2 moves. If nobody has any objections against the above mentioned PD and FD becoming EHB-buildings, I will update their status. --John Cannonfodder 10:14, 16 August 2006 (BST)

The only areas where you can't reach a VSB-building in two moves are the NE and SE corners of the burb. If this is a problem, any ideas are welcome to remedy the situation. I am quite reluctant however to lower the cade status of more buildings, as we already have quite a few resource buildings in this suburb. I suggest the Hayden Building [28,80] as an additional VSB-entrypoint. --John Cannonfodder 10:29, 16 August 2006 (BST)

Suggestions: I'd suggest setting Money Row and Dinham Row Fire Stations as EH. if the rates stated above for finding gennies is accurate. If Dinham Row and Grandon Place PD are set to EH then the warehouse at 25,83 should be set to VSB (instead of the junkyard next door). I'd also suggest the following additional VSB designations - a warehouse (24,80), the Browne Museum (28,83) and perhaps Coe Bank (23,86) in exhnage for Money row. Someone should also prod the 'Sards to see what they want Frossard Place PD set at. Good work John! --Gilant talk|DEM 02:41, 17 August 2006 (BST)

I see what you're trying to do... This way you have two well-placed EHB fire departments in the burb. Your suggestion for the VSB-buildings are dead on IMO, except Coe Bank: there are enoigh entrypoints in the neighbourhood to keep this one at EHB. Frossard PD is under attack for the past few months... Official cade status should be VSB, but, as with all long-term sieges on particular buildings, It should be allowed a temporary EHB status. I'll ask the 'Sards what their own views are so we can implement them in the barricading policy. I am changing the depicted Barricading Policy to the newly suggested version, to get a better view of the proposed plan. If there are no other suggestion/comments, I will change the DEM-barricading policy to match this one. Thank you Gilant for your input, this really seems to be the best solution. Regards, --John Cannonfodder 09:01, 17 August 2006 (BST)
Great job John! This is really looking good. --Max Grivas JG,T,P! 09:17, 17 August 2006 (BST)
Thank you! There is one last thing bugging me though: should we bring the cade level of Hoyle Place railway station [28,88] to VSB? It would provide a great entrypoint when going to the suburbs Southeast of Lockettside... In a similar way I chose the Hayden Building [28,80] as a VSB-entrypoint: it gives residents strait access to Marven Mall in South Blytheville. --John Cannonfodder 09:59, 17 August 2006 (BST)
I agree with [28,88] going to VSB. Otherwise you would have to make it to Foxwell Auto Repair [30,88] in Datside then double back to maintain those. --Max Grivas JG,T,P! 13:53, 17 August 2006 (BST)

The last change in th BP will probably be the upgrade of Frossard PD [20,87] to EHB and moving the VSB-entrypoint (Rodford Alley school [20,86]) 1 block north to [20,85] so that an EHB safehouse borders both St. John's hospital and Frossard PD... The police station has been under siege for a long, long time, so keeping its required status at VSB doesn't seem realistic... Still, you never know when these zombies finally get bored of the place... move out, see the world, that kind of thing... Anywho, to upgrade or not to upgrade, that is the question... --John Cannonfodder 12:01, 20 August 2006 (BST)

The suggested changes have been made. The Lockettside Barricading Policy is now a fact. --John Cannonfodder 15:45, 22 August 2006 (BST)
Moved to front page. --Gilant talk|DEM 16:55, 14 October 2006 (BST)

Brooks Row Railway Station [20,85] is currently EHB, though the map said it would be enterable. I hope I have enough action points to get back. --Toner Low 15:51, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

For ease of access, Coe Bank has been changed to VSB from its previous EHB.--PaperLilly 13:16, 23 October 2008 (MST)

I've reversed the unauthorized change to my "home," Coe Bank. It should remain EHB as discussed above. Entry point is two blocks south at the Bugby Place Fire Station.--O'Hallorhan 01:18, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

I'd like to change Brent Bank (21, 88) from EHB to VSB. Currently, there is no good access point when passing through Lockettside from the Southwest. Using Brent Bank as an access point would be really helpful. Thanks! Extropymine 23:36, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

With no comments made, I am changing Brent Bank to an entry point. ~ extropymine Talk | NW | 4Corners 08:46, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

I am suggesting changing the warehouse 25,83 to a EHB due to the fact it is the Lockettside Republicans Army HQ, also I would like to change the junkyard next to it to VSB to provide an entry point. I will wait 3 days, if there are no objections.--Sodomiser 17:42, 2 March 2009
