Curiousity

how do you (in general) recognize zerging? i'm pretty sure i was a zerg's victim but how can anyone be sure? i don't bother reporting anything. i reported 1 or 2 PKers because i wasn't aware that UD was PvP (i thought survivors could only kill zombies, vice versa). i know zerging is against the (game) rules, but i don't support zerg hunters, nor do i support bounty hunters...but i accept "hunting" as a playing style. does zerg hunting eradicate zergers? or do hunters just get a kick out of killing zergers? One way to detect them is to compare the creation dates of anyone that attacks you or anyone else as a team. If their creation dates are ridiculously close, you are probably dealing with a zerger. Another way is when you are attacked but not killed but then attacked again within a few minutes by another character to finish you off. Zergers also use alts to attack you in dark buildings by often using an alt to plant the genny/fuel followed by an attack within minutes by another alt. Sometimes you can spot them in Revive lines when one alt revies someone who stands up within moments of the revive. If someone is tagged as a zerger by Resensitized they have a chance to prove they are honest by having their them and their suspected alts create accounts at Resens so that their IPs can be compared. A lot of times you can tell by killing someone you suspect of zerging and then waiting to see if you get zerg rushed by several of their alts in revenge.
The reasons people zerg hunt are varied. Some do it for kicks I assume. Some just don't like cheaters. It's hard in this game because of the attitudes towards zergers which generally go: If the honest person is Pro-Survivor then any Zombie zergs are scum of the earth that need to be hunted down and tortured...but zergs that are Pro-Survivor can be ignored. This holds true for Zombie players as well, except the Pro-Survivor Zergs are scum and the zombie zergs are nothing to worry about. Basically hypocrisy, which is what really allows the zergs to rule this game. And don't believe anyone that tells you that zergs are a minority. They are full of it.
But at this point it's almost not a crime to zerg really. People who don't like zergs are the real minority. Kevan all but condones it and so do the majority of players. They pay lip service to hating zergs but forget actions in 99% of people. Zerging is becoming the norm. Sad but true.--Alice Gravesend 12:06, 14 October 2011 (BST)
thanks for taking the time to reply/explain. i'll start reporting suspected zerging. i have old screenshots saved but nothing recent because i've adopted the it's just a game attitude.
Yeah well it's not so much whether its a game or not but that cheating losers running around with impunity reflects poorly on the value of the game experience which drives real players away. But like i say Kevan pretty much doesn't give a shit about his game or the people who play it so whatever.--Alice Gravesend 07:34, 15 October 2011 (BST)
