Talk:Northwest Borehamwood

First off, apologies for any misunderstanding over the map. I should have made it more obvious that I failed to locate the 3x3 square around Cornelius so I just dropped my map on to the same template. I realise now of course that it would have been clearer to just start a new one. It loks to have been cleared up now anyway. From what's already been posted here we seem to have a suburb that's at least 20 squares top to bottom, possibly 30 or more including fields; and as far as we know, 13 squares wide at the least. I'll try and scout the Eastern edge over the next day or so. Then we'll know what size of map template we need, or at least, how many map templates we need. Scribble 21:41, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

'kay. My format is awesome btw =P Nah, just kidding. Thanks. --Janus Abernathy 21:59, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Here is a java source code file that can be used to create map templates of dimensions x by y from the console/terminal. Any improvements highly appreciated. (You'll need a java compiler to run.) [1] --Quicksivlerzxc 15:31, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Please see my mapping info on the Radlett page. It contains some areas of Northwest Borehamwood, including the discovery that your burb is not rectangular! Balfa 14:35, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

Ive merged all the maps into one at this point. The North,South and East borders are all shown. I have no idea about the west. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 15:41, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Naming whilst mapping

By and large there will be no location pages for individual locations (that is specific named places rather than generic buildings such as "a factory") in Borehamwood yet.

If our intrepid mappers could please check their links after they update their entries, if their link is blue (i.e. live) then chances are that it's a name already used by a place in Malton. As per wiki naming conventions the link should be altered.

For example, The Shiel Building is in both Malton and West Borehamwood.

The link [[The Shiel Building]] directs a user to The Shiel Building in Malton.

The Borehamwood link should be rendered as [[The Shiel Building (Borehamwood)|The Shiel Building]] which will be a red (i.e. dead) link until the page is created, for example The Shiel Building.

In time disambiguation pages will need to be made to allow users to find the two locations from one search, and utilising these naming conventions now will allow us to find them easier to perform these tasks.

Doing this helps the newbies find where there are, especially players who have come aboard with this new promotion and may not yet be familiar with Malton.

Cross posting this to all Borehamwood suburb talk pages so that everyone sees it.

Cheers. -- To know the face of God is to know madness....Praise knowledge! Mischief! Mayhem! The Rogues Gallery!. <== DDR Approved Editor 11:12, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

Coordinates

Coordinates aren't supposed to be known without a GPS unit, but the UD toolbar reports Clare General Hospital as 542-24. From there, we can extrapolate coordinates... --Sigma 7 18:50, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

thanks. Duke Garlands Map confirms that. User:Duke Garland/BHW I'll add them for resource buildings. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 18:54, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
