Post 14 October 2008 Findings

After several days of searching and other people's anecdotes, it appeared that Newspapers were no longer to be found in hospitals. This appeared to increase the odds of finding a FAK to the standard 1 in 4 for lit and 1 in 5 for unlit hospitals. Alas, on 29 Oct, I found 4 Newspapers, so it would appear to have been a random anomoly. Although, a temporary, now reverted rule change is not out of the question. --SearchDerelict 17:13, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

issue

There's a bit of an issue here, you don't seperate Powered and Unpowered searches. --Karekmaps?! 20:16, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Take a closer look at column than says Condition --~~~~ [talk] 20:23, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
You mark them but it's not separating the search rates. At least that's not how it reads. Might be better to do it as you've been doing with the other pages and have them separated into multiple tables for Ransacked, Ruined, Powered, and Unpowered for ease of reading.--Karekmaps?! 20:55, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
You're not supposed to "read" raw data. You're supposed to "read" summaries of it. Summaries are made in bold, header-style of the table, last one was taken 26 August 2007, i was going to bind next one to the new year, so i'ld better do this now (*in few minutes). Consider these separate SO/D pages as "inner" workings of the project that are made in public domain. Flashy nice pages that are shown to producers are tables on main page and that summary, which i started. --~~~~ [talk] 21:27, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
I have no clue what you are talking about but you definitely do read raw data, it's how you analyze it and check over other people's analysis of it. I'm saying having them separated like some of the other pages makes it easier to read both the summaries and the raw data, that's a good thing as these odds are meant to be used for other things right?--Karekmaps?! 21:29, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
I'm talking about this bold text:
Search odds.png
But i understand what you mean, the table is getting too long, time to split it a bit. Odds that are meant to be used fir ither things should be better taken from data on main page - most of buildings for which we have a good amount of data are listed there except hardware store, factory and auto repair (where conditions changed, what made us to start new table. conditions never changed in hospital) --~~~~ [talk] 22:14, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
It might also be a good idea to do two data calcs, one with the pre-gen data one with only the data from the most recent searching session as we do know that the %s have changed over time which means the pre-gen data could be bogging down the results and causing a lower than normal % find rate or even a higher than normal one if the rates have been reduced.--Karekmaps?! 22:25, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
That's exactly why the "with the pre-gen" is a separate line... However, as it looks, we don't have enough "N" - data for searches after-gen to say considerably whether it differs from pre-gen or not. Unconsiderably saying (sorry for my bad english) they don't really --~~~~ [talk] 22:32, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

The page was revamped for easiness of viewing, some page-clogging stuff moved ot archives. Although, anyway, i'll make some more modifications to it, this is not final look of what i'ld like to see here --~~~~ [talk] 14:46, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

old comments

Sorry for the error but after looking at the wiki today I realized that the hospital I searched in yesterday was not actually ransacked (I’ve changed my report so that it is accurate). Gamer.g33k 12:24, 19 May 2006 (BST)

I can no longer search in a hospital when my weight is above 46 -- this suggests that if you search, you have a low chance of finding something that weighs 5. What weighs 5? Aetonnotea 08:20, 28 June 2006 (BST)
