02:30, 11 December 2006 (UTC) - Shacknews is attacking Morrish, adjacent to Giddings Mall

Yes sirs. We are visiting the home of many zombieologists in our search for DNF. It is not the wish of our undead mass to eat any friendly scientists, and we plead with them to temporarily leave Giddings Mall and any NecroTechs for other, more scholarly or comfortable buildings until this search is over. I will be the first Shackhorde member to sign up for Shacknews Resistance, should the Giddings effort be successful. --Pchem 08:23, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Discussion

Hi guys. I have a fireman named pmchem in the PD that's SE of Giddings. He's not tagged as part of SNR, because I didn't realize you all were so close to where I made camp. What strategic objectives do you guys have right now? I mean, my guy is just trying to gain XP and it's pretty easy to roam around outside and find a zombie to kill. Also, this character may become a PKer in the future (for use against Caiger area, not you). We'll see. --Pchem 20:05, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

We have have any confirmation on RRF and The Shining Ones heading in our direction?--Kentor 16:52, 23 October 2006 (BST)

Things have been quiet inside Giddings Mall, with the exception of PKers destroying the generators.--N3rvous 16:22, 25 October 2006 (BST)

We have another issue: some of the Shacknews Zombie Horde have decided to start an alt-zombie group here in Pitneybank. Since they decided to come down here as alt-zombies knowing we're here, I have no qualms about attacking them. Opinions? --Kentor 17:51, 25 October 2006 (BST)

I'd love to fight them if the PKs and GKs weren't out of control in giddings. Mondo 23:23, 25 October 2006 (BST)
Really? I find it particularly annoying because I'll just see their locations and what not when I browse the Shack... what fun will that be?--Kentor 01:47, 26 October 2006 (BST)
They do outnumber us 500 to 20, it's your call. I have no problem not attacking them. Mondo 02:37, 26 October 2006 (BST)
Looks like things have been sorted out. They're setting up their alt-horde somewhere else.--Kentor 17:00, 26 October 2006 (BST)
They're setting up shop in Spracklingbank, a few squares north of Giddings. I've been up there scouting around. There's a few small groups of feral zeds, but I haven't found where the alt-horde is hiding yet. Not much comes up on NT scans, but there's way more on the ground than the NT scan shows.--N3rvous 17:33, 26 October 2006 (BST)

Lots of Zeds SW of Giddings, huho just iced 4 zeds outside SW giddings and lived to hide another day Mondo 07:41, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Seems like the changes to the Forts grabbed Zed attention. --Kentor 22:52, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
Indeed, I can't believe there is actual lag near fort creedy, everytime I go over there and attack, mid fight it lags - never would suspect a browser mmorpg would have lag. Mondo 01:10, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

Targets

Current target areas as well as any targets of opportunity

17:27, 23 October 2006 (BST) Zeds still clustered around the Armoury [79,48] at Fort Creedy, contingent shambling in from the south near the Hunter Building
02:25, 24 October 2006 (BST) 4 left standing in the Armoury
00:41, 28 October 2006 (BST) we have 10 zeds at the Amoury
06:04, 3 November 2006 (UTC) Zeds are using Mumford Towers to stage

Discussion

What about the Higgdon Building? (79,44) Looks like a good Fort Creedy staging ground. Mondo 19:59, 28 October 2006 (BST)

I suggest we spread out in as many buildings as possible, or one of the heavily fortified positions. We do not have the man power to monitor a barricade for a reasonable period of time so keeping a low profile and reviving quickly are probably our best bets. We should probably keep track of the entry points though.--Kentor 23:50, 28 October 2006 (BST)
I've been using it, but the barricading is low because other people use it as a entrance. Mondo 19:56, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
Sigh was such a good hideout while it lasted. :( Mondo 19:31, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

Hmmm Mondo 05:42, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Playing the humans kind is odd. There does not seem to be a win condition for the humans.--Kentor 15:44, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Check this out, http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Yagoton#November_16th Mentions a Shack attack Mondo 23:48, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, people watch lattestchatty these days.--Kentor 01:36, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

I saw on the radio that shackers we're going to attack giddings, and they're 60 zeds at fort creedy gatehouse Mondo 23:22, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Well it's finally coming, the Shack is attacking, thinking if I should bail or not considering how many pks live in Giddings. Mondo 00:58, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
Well, I figure our options are: a) leave the region, b) join the Shack blowout celebration, or c) join the defense. Most of us are leaving the game pretty soon.--Kentor 17:31, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
I feel like I'm Liv Tyler and your Agent Smith. Other zombie groups are attacking NE giddings while the Shack attacks morrish Mondo 17:38, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Policies

We've all seen the daily Horde threads which give us an incredible advantage as to their whereabouts. Something I've been wondering for a while is what our policies should be when encountering them in the field, and if we should act on the information we have available. For example, in the past I've had my medic run over to a zone being attacked by the Horde to try and heal up survivors, then boot it out of there. I guess the real question is whether or not we should start attacking them, seeing as how they are, after all, the enemy. I'm a bit conflicted with taking out good Shackers though. --ieGod 19:51 7 October, 2006 (EST)

I suggest we do not attack them because we have an unfair advantage with information. The only times we should really go head to head is at prearranged points where both sides are on fairly equal ground in terms of information (i.e. The Blackmore Building). The Horde doesn't abide by those rules though. --Kentor 01:24, 8 October 2006 (BST)
Today I was taken out by a Shacknews Horde member. I guess I can't really be cross with the fact that it was a shacker zombie since they are after all, out for my delicious brains. And of course, as the final bites were being made, I was simultaneously being squired with lime from behind. I guess the only reason I'm posting this is to say that it's time for us to put our zombological analysis into good use. Namely with bullets. Bullets to their heads. -ieGod 15:59, 15 October 2006 (BST)
What are they doing down here? I thought they were concentrating the entire force on C right now.--Kentor 06:16, 27 October 2006 (BST)

Here's another interesting question: I've noticed some players tagged with Shacknews Resistance who are running recon for the Horde. What's our take on that? --Kentor 03:51, 8 October 2006 (BST)

It is my professional opinion that they should change their affiliation to "Shacknews" status. Perhaps we could make a post suggesting so, since their goals are not in line with our prestigious efforts. I think an appropriate policy for pulse termination would be in order if anyone is found running counter-intelligence against us. --ieGod 02:03, 8 October 2006 (EST)
I'd suggest doing so. Frankly, Shacknews uses zombie spies (revived zombie players who act as scouts). Therefore, if you don't take a strong stance against aiding zombies, people will start assuming you are zombie spies. And that would be bad. --OmegaPaladin 06:48, 24 October 2006 (BST)
Most of the players abusing our tag have been taken care of I think. The Zombie Shackers are fairly reasonable for certain things. I'll have to check the master lists again though.--Kentor 05:58, 27 October 2006 (BST)

Organization

I like it, especially the annotation box. However that thing gets mangled in 1600x1200. I tried to play around with formatting briefly but couldn't muster anything. Is it possible to set line breaks before/after it instead of having text wrap around it? --ieGod 00:08, 5 October 2006 (EST)

So what do you guys thinks of our current page format? I think we should run the Zombologist Analysis with timestamps and authors. Additions to the entries can be made by placing one of those nifty looking annotation boxes in... it maintains a nice atmosphere to it I think.--Kentor 06:04, 4 October 2006 (BST), SNR Zombologist

I'm Miss. Jade from Wyke hills survivor group Tactical Area Rescue. I thank you for the heads up of the new zombie threat. I would like to Request an alliance with you please go here and we can talk further: http://z13.invisionfree.com/Tactical_Area_Rescue

Names Jack Keller. The Shacknews horde is coming towards Caiger. While we've begun planning and fortifying for this, anybody who can help is urged to come forth. Since we don't know when they will reach us we ask that if you mobilize it is done with all haste. WE CANNOT LET CAIGER FALL.

I do not believe fortifying or defending is a feasible tactic against the Shacknews Zombie Horde. All our might zombological analysis has lead us to conclude that the best tactics would be long to mid range hit and runs from random safe houses (i.e. there are no large crowds of humans in any one building). --Kentor 23:09, 21 October 2006 (BST)

A tactic of some potential use to survivors is a list of Shacknews zombie names for a UDTool | UDTool list. UDTool would highlight the names in color of Shacknews zombie spies (while playing as survivors). As you already know, that would not affect zombies, as their names do not appear. This is information people would get anyway, and it would help cut down on Shacknews people pretending to be Resistance. If they want their damn apple pastry with lime and lamp, they should line up outside the building and take their turn... --OmegaPaladin 07:04, 24 October 2006 (BST)

Greetings from the Knights Templar. As the first main group to be directly affected by the Shacknews, I applaud your courageous efforts. I would also like to solicit our application for alliance with your group. (I am a registered Shacknews user)-Ablesentinel 21:52, 24 October 2006 (BST)

Boris III destroyed the generator but it got rebuilt, Firefighter Mike (got him down to 38HP, someone finishem - jerk managed to kill me with 200 other people there) is the only PK/GK left in SW Mondo 19:05, 22 October 2006 (BST)

Boris III is chilling in the Heeks Motel [87, 43]. I'd whack him, but I'm out of AP for the day. N3rvous 23:20, 23 October 2006 (BST)

Welp those PH guys and Firefighter "Cheesedick" Mike are back in all corners of giddings not just SW and the radio and generator are gone again in SW Mondo 14:19, 24 October 2006 (BST)
Someone actually iced the PH guys except phmiliko in the SE.

More traitor news: ScorpionXL killed darkward1. (10 hours and 7 minutes ago) ScorpionXL destroyed the generator. Mondo, your group tag is incorrect: it should read "Shacknews Resistance"--Kentor 01:27, 23 October 2006 (BST)

kk changed, a few people have that too. Mondo 03:03, 23 October 2006 (BST)

Gonna make my move to Giddings soon, getting ok exp with hit and runs out of Kerle. Mondo 05:54, 19 October 2006 (BST)

Save up a good chunk of AP though, the folks up at Giddings are over baricading so it might be difficult to locate an entry point.--Kentor 15:56, 19 October 2006 (BST)
Ruh-roh. The zeds found Mondo and me in the Kerle. I'm currently at the Kemball Avenue revive point. I guess I'll move into Giddings after I store up enough AP after revive. --N3rvous 15:39, 20 October 2006 (BST)

OK. Rumplestilts is near Giddings now. Stuck outside of the mall with no AP due to Zombie attack. Will try to get in asap.--FyunchClick 14:17, 19 October 2006 (BST)

Bloody Hell. I'm dead. SE corner of Giddings, outside on the ground among a pile of corpses. I shall stand and hop to not be killed again.--FyunchClick 20:44, 19 October 2006 (BST)
Save some AP before trying to stand up. Lots of it, since it's hard to get into buildings around here. Let me know when you do, though. My scientist is back in business and can provide a revive. -- ieGod 23:52, 19 October 2006 (BST)
Ready when you are.--FyunchClick 13:57, 20 October 2006 (BST)
Ok Revived and in Giddings SW corner. So what's the plan?--FyunchClick 21:46, 21 October 2006 (BST)
Stock up (guns, ammo, medkits) and then wait for near full AP. There are targets near Fort Creedy and to the south. Stage hit and runs from the outskirts of Fort Creedy (i.e. Mumford Towers, Pallaye Library, Lavor Alley School, etc), but make sure you save enough AP to return to a safe house after your attack. Entry points fluctuate somewhat, so make sure you have plenty of AP before you head down from Giddings Mall. If you leave any targets standing, report their locations in our Targets section. --Kentor 22:28, 21 October 2006 (BST)
The entry points are Byrne Auto Repair and Bromley Auto Repair to the south of Giddings Mall. -- Stamps 09:53, 20 October 2006 (BST)

In bottom left Giddings Mondo 02:01, 22 October 2006 (BST) Make sure these guys are dead before they kill the generator

  1. I'm terrified... too bad I didn't have more AP. Mondo 04:48, 23 October 2006 (BST)

Alright guys considering our human levels average out to about 9 between all resistance members, I think we can provide services for ourselves (healing, revives, etc.) and should band together. Apparently the Kerle Arms is where a few have set up shop, so I say we head over there and recover a little. --ieGod 17:33, 15 October 2006 (BST)

Alright, McNinja is at the Kerle Arms with Commander Mondo. I can do some reviving if anyone is in the area. --ieGod 22:58, 15 October 2006 (BST)
I'll head down in a bit; I moved pretty far out to rearm and avoid the zombie hordes. --Kentor 01:01, 16 October 2006 (BST)
There are quite a few zombies hanging around outside of Tynte just a few blocks west. The hospital to the northeast is seeing a bit of activity as well. Once we've regrouped and had a chance to get some AP, perhaps we should find a new hangout. What would you recommend Dr. Kentor? -- ieGod 14:19, 16 October 2006 (BST)
Tynte is in bad shape. I'm hanging out at the Marks reloading on syringes. The radio chatter says there's 80+ zeds in the mall, and many survivors are infected. -- N3rvous 01:35, 17 October 2006 (BST)
Giddings Mall in Pitneybank is currently solid. I would suggest that we move our stagging area to Giddings Mall and The Morrish Building. --Kentor 06:56, 17 October 2006 (BST)
It's solid alright. Everything around it is so heavily barricaded I can't gain access. My doctor is sleeping in the streets right now :( -- ieGod 17:28, 17 October 2006 (BST)
Whereabouts? I'm in Pitneybank - I'll heal/revive you. -- Stamps 21:22, 17 October 2006 (BST)
He's at Halberry Boulevard Police Dept, [87-44]. A revive would be graciously appreciated. I'll stand him up and hope no one comes by to knock him off. -- ieGod 03:14, 18 October 2006 (BST)
I'm moving over to the cemetary [81, 45], since I keep getting killed over at the police station. I can't blame people I guess. -- ieGod 15:10, 18 October 2006 (BST)
I'm there. Let me know when you are standing up. -- Stamps 07:18, 19 October 2006 (BST)

The Blackmore area is getting hit pretty hard. I'm trying to round up as many FAKs as I can with my scientist and hopefully get him over there within the next couple of days. He's currently in Vinetown at Mitchem Mall. If things go according to plan I'll have him over there in two days tops. -ieGod 00:28, 12 October 2006 (EST)

10/6/2006 -- We need to begin staging to move into Ridleybank. I would like to do this in the Hildebrand Mall in Roftwood (66,55). Not sure on the activity of that suburb right now. Currently I'm in the NW of Crowbank in the Burt Square PD (76,62). If anyone needs help, or revives please catch up with me here or at the eventual staging area of the mall. - Fletch

I'm currently at Vere Cinema [60,54] in Roftwood and can give revives. NecroNet scans show many small groups of zeds (< 5) in the area. N3rvous 17:06, 7 October 2006 (BST)
Restocking at Pimbank right now. I'll be down at Roftwood probably tommorow night.--Kentor 18:45, 7 October 2006 (BST)

I'm hanging outside Vere Cinema right now. 7 Zeds SW of it. And I just got chased out by 2 of them (Levels 26 and 10). Update: I got killed and now a zombie outside Vere.Mondo 19:22, 7 October 2006 (BST)

UPDATE -- Zeds control both of the NT buildings in Roftwood and have ransacked a number of the hospitals. Should we concentrate on retaking several key buildings in the suburb before moving onto tackling the mall? The Greenhow Building [62, 51] could be used as a staging/revive point. 7 zeds are currently in control of it, probably the same group that took the Went Building SW of Vere Cinema. Another horde has control of the Herbert Building, adjacent to the mall. N3rvous 23:44, 8 October 2006 (BST)

Head up to Tynte Mall in Pimbank. We need to get everyone at least in the same suburb before we can do anything and it looks like Roftwood is entirely overrun.--Kentor 11:10, 9 October 2006 (BST)

I'm at Turpin Crescent [66,54]. Any chance of a revive? THX! -- Stamps 10:53, 9 October 2006 (BST)

I've been rev'd and rekilled about 3 times so far since I arrived here. Mondo 19:29, 9 October 2006 (BST)

Save up your AP and come up to Tynte Mall in Pimbank. Roftwood is overrun and the Shack horde is quickly approaching the edge of the region.

I am there and level 4 now, Kentor I added you to my cell contacts. Mondo 17:18, 10 October 2006 (BST)

I'm toast at Tynte Mall. We got raided tonight while I was online and it's hard taking on 15 zombies alone (they cleared out the north east quadrant).--Kentor 03:17, 11 October 2006 (BST)

Managed to kill one and then a human killed me ...wtf...zoutroi Mondo 02:27, 12 October 2006 (BST)

I think the Heytown revive points are the closest that are relatively safe.--Kentor 03:27, 12 October 2006 (BST)
I'm giving revives at The Marks Building in Peppardville, 1s 4e of Tynte Mall. Put "Mrh?" in your zombie description, or something. N3rvous 01:00, 13 October 2006 (BST)
I'm there.--Kentor 04:20, 13 October 2006 (BST)
And me! -- Stamps 16:05, 13 October 2006 (BST)
I just got killed again. The region is too hot since Blackmore fell. We need to find a safe area before we start off again.--Kentor 07:25, 14 October 2006 (BST)
Are you inside a building with 'cades higher than VS? There are a few PKers running around whacking generators, but things have been relatively quiet.N3rvous 18:31, 14 October 2006 (BST)
Still waiting for revive outside The Marks Building in Peppardville. -- Stamps 01:45, 15 October 2006 (BST)
I got my doctor over to the The Marks Building and revived a one Uncle Wiggly. I didn't know that you can only extract DNA from one zombie at a time, that is, if I don't want to revive Uncle Wiggly I don't have a choice. Anyway, the buildings around the area are too barricaded for me to get in, and I'm kind of trapped outside with little AP. Here's hoping I can get in otherwise my 20+ FAKs and NT syringe are going to waste :(. -- ieGod 17:27, 15 October 2006 (BST)

I escaped to Peppardville, barricaded in The Kerle Arms. Mondo 18:57, 14 October 2006 (BST)

I'm here too. Anyone in need of a revive that is at Marks that keeps getting capped should move 1 n to the revive point. I revived 2 zeds today outside the Marks, but none of our people when I extractored. If you're not standing, you can't be revived, so head up to the revive point if you're needing a revive. I'll make a pass tomorrow when I have some more AP. -- N3rvous 03:19, 15 October 2006 (BST)

We've had a small crew in Kerle... remember to add each other to contacts list Mondo 05:30, 17 October 2006 (BST)

Skills

We might want to list off what branches we are so we can figure out what holes we have right now. Our numbers are far lower than the horde so we can't count on someone having the skill we require. I'm lvl 10 military with free running and construction. --Kentor 23:40, 2 October 2006 (BST)

Level 4 Scientist (Free Running + Lab Exp + Diagnosis) -- Stamps 10:34, 9 October 2006 (BST)

We need to get the number of members down to an exact number, figure out what we have to work with, etc. We also need to decide where we're going to be based, or if we're just going to follow the Shacknews horde and kill small amounts of them whenever we can. --MisterPhoton 13:40, 2 October 2006 (BST)

I'm currently in Randallbank awaiting a revive. I think we should pick a territory and form up then we can figure out what to do from there. --Kentor 23:24, 2 October 2006 (BST)
I have two level four characters, a scientist and military, but I can't use them in tandem since, apparently, that's considered cheating. I can use one or the other for our excursions though. I'd like to focus my scientist on medical support, and am currently hoping to get bargain hunting to maximimze my FAK encounters within mall drugstores. -- ieGod 23:46, 3 October 2006 (EST)
I'm a level 2 scientist dude (free running), currently in Tollyton. Currently farming DNA extraction for XP. -- Stamps 12:11, 4 October 2006 (BST)
I'm level 4 and waiting for a revive in Wyke Hills. I've got Pistols trained all the way up, as well as Free Running.--MisterPhoton 13:57, 3 October 2006 (BST)
I'm a level 3 Military guy good with knives and shotguns.. and I have a ALOT of shotguns - currently in Pegton --Commander Mondo October 4th 2006
Okay, let's head to Pimbank. Try to avoid the Peppardville/Pimbank border if you can. Also stay clear of the Ridleybank border. We'll form up on a relatively safe location once we've scouted it out a bit more.--Kentor 13:02, 6 October 2006 (BST)
I've a L2 Military in Shearbank and L3 Scientist in Tollyton. What would be the most useful help to bring to Pimbank? --Stamps 03:00, 7 October 2006 (BST)
We do need a medic with revive, but I'm uncertain how fast Scientists level.--Kentor 06:04, 7 October 2006 (BST)
I've been levelling ridiculously fast, just by running around and spamming DNA Extraction on crowds of Zeds. Currently got Free Running + Diagnosis. Lab Experience for revives will likely be next. I'll head towards Pimbank after that. (edit: got lab exp, travelling now.) -- Stamps 08:21, 7 October 2006 (BST)
Well, military seems level quite fast as well, I'm restocking at level 12 right now.--Kentor 18:44, 7 October 2006 (BST)
I'm level 26 (29 actually since i have 300+ xp sitting around). I currently moved into northwest crowbank To make the eventual move into joining the human fight in Ridley Bank where the Shack Horde may be moving soon. If anyone needs revives or anything I'm pretty stocked up and have maxed out all human skills. If anyone needs help or wants to meet up with me, SM me. - Fletch
