Rotter Clinic

Hey, Natick here from the Yagoton Revivification Clinic. I'm starting up a new center for treating brain rot at the Serrell Building (49,18). In order for it to be of any use, it has to be kept unbarricaded and powered. I'll probably shoulder most of the generator responsibility myself, but I thought I'd let you guys know about the barricades, so you don't build them up. Maybe you could even help take them down if you see them. Hopefully, you can also note this in the next update of the optimal defense plan. X1M43 02:05, 28 July 2006 (BST)

Someone built them up. I guess someone hasn't been doing what they said. --The Random Man 08:26, 11 August 2006 (BST)

Thanks for letting us know, Natick. FWIW, we think it's a really good idea to offer the Brain Rot clinic, and we'll be modifying the barricade plan shortly. Most of our members are now aware that the clinic is there, and there'll be at least one Abandoned member helping out on a regular basis, with the rest of us looking in every so often. If you have a desperate emergency, let us know on our forum.

Balls

When did you guys grow a pair? --Gage 03:25, 28 July 2006 (BST)

I assure you, it happened organically. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by McBlackjack (talkcontribs) .
Why'd you have to say that? You made me think of the East German Female Swimming Team. –Xoid STFU! 13:46, 7 August 2006 (BST)
Those professional female swimmers creep me out, muscles galore!--Gage 02:06, 9 August 2006 (BST)
Psssh, lightweights. If the swimming team messes you up then you really should skip the international body building championships - female division. Now those women have pecs bigger than most guys and biceps bigger than your thighs. Some of them have hairy faces due to all the steroids too. --McBlackjack 05:54, 9 August 2006 (BST)
Stop scarring my mind, you evil man you! Well, for the record, the East German Female Swimming team were steroid abusers back before the fall of the USSR. They were pretty muscled up. Not like what you're describing but still pretty fucking ugly. –Xoid STFU! 06:03, 9 August 2006 (BST)

Levels

Considering the relatively complete listing of Abandoned members ASS has managed to collect, I can see a lot of your members have incorrectly listed levels. I could update a lot, if not all of them, if you wish. –Xoid STFU! 06:31, 2 August 2006 (BST)

Thank you for the offer, but we prefer to keep our information updated where and when we choose. Besides, you'd probably misspell half of it, despite it being numbers. Stick to worrying about your own pages. Francis Snottly III 08:52, 4 August 2006 (BST)
Hey, way to prove your own fucktardedness (as if further evidence was needed). Xoid made an honest offer to help you with your incompetently managed wiki page, and you spit in his face. Classy. --Jimbo Bob ASSU! 12:38, 4 August 2006 (BST)
Hi guys. Sorry for answering so late, but I left to another city for a programming competition. Xoid, your offer would be appreciated. If you want to do it, then thanks. Our levels are not something secret, I think. Also Francis, please do not insult others when they try to help. It doesn't matter that Xoid is a member of A.S.S. He wanted to help us. Thanks! --Abi79 AB 14:12, 4 August 2006 (BST)
Sorry, Abi, but being helpful is one thing; pointing something out while also noting "collecting" our members is not an "honest offer to help." It was just another dig in their attacks on us, a crack that we're too stupid to take care of our own Wiki page. (JimBob's response was much more honestly put.) Personally, I'd rather he not touch our main page. But, you're higher up on the chain than I am, so I'll duck out. Francis Snottly III 15:05, 4 August 2006 (BST)
Francis, there is a difference between laziness or being busy and stupidity. Believe it or not, it was a genuine offer to help. Were it not, I would already be unleashing both barrels upon you. This was more a "peace offering" to the members of your group that got drawn into this merely because of their affiliation, iceblue, ErynSMA and Albert Iordache being prime examples. If you wish to discuss this further, take it elsewhere, because I will be ignoring your responses here if you continue with your uncivility. Regardless, if you thought about what I was proposing, you might have realised that you could use the edits I would make to gauge exactly how many of your member's profiles are known. Abi is supposed to be young, but he's also sharp, I think he would've picked up on that. Win win, even if it hurt your pride that the ASSault has both notepads and pens enough to take note of Abandoned members, though lord only knows why. –Xoid STFU! 15:23, 4 August 2006 (BST)
Xoid -- I am only being uncivil with you because of your uncivility with me and my group. (Besides the fact that the most I've ever called you and your cohorts are morons, while your group has used all sorts of vile language back at us -- so much for civil discussion in the face of that.) You could have very easily left out the snarkiness in your offer to help, but chose not to. How you can see this as a peace offering when it deliberately rubs your group's murdering us right and left in our faces is beyond me. I wouldn't have even ever gone to your talk pages if your members hadn't come here to post stuff about getting balls and the like. When some of our members went to your talk page in order to determine the problem, they were just beaten down with ridiculousness. Your assumption that we don't track our members on our own forums and must only have outdated info here to work with again appears to be a slap in the face. I'm perfectly willing to call a truce with you on all this mess here; I'm already ignoring all the murdering in the game. Perhaps this is all some sort of weird misunderstanding mixing in-game and out-of-game role-play. (I've seen other things on this Wiki that confuse the two and seem to grow as well.) I'm just not convinced of your sincerity. If truce is what you want, I have no problems stopping everything. We'll never know unless we do it. If you say yes, then archive that silly thread we've built on your Talk page, and off we go. :) Francis Snottly III 15:51, 4 August 2006 (BST)
Uh huh. Read what I said. Notice the quotation marks around the words "peace offering"? It was not an offering of a truce in any way. More of a way of saying sorry to the very small percentage of your members that I don't consider worthy of targeting, but got lumped into it because we aren't taking the risk that you'll eventually fight back. That's coming from me, not the group. As for civility, this is The Abandoned's talk page. Your yard, your rules. I'll be civil here, but make no bones about it, you will be flamed each and every time you flamebait on our talk page. If an individual member of ASS flamebaits here, take it to their talk page.
It's not an assumption that the levels haven't been updated, it's a fact. I managed to update most of the handful I looked at before I started thinking about the exception to the "40 is maxed" rule of thumb, looked for one who matched that rule and came to ask about it on the talk page. –Xoid STFU! 16:16, 4 August 2006 (BST)
You didn't even read me properly. I didn't say you assumed our Wiki page was wrong. I said you were assuming we didn't keep the info elsewhere by claiming our edits would help us keep our profiles known. And the truce is my offering based on whether this was really an attempt to be helpful and not just a way to slyly dig at us again. (And you say I can come to your page and flamebait when your members do so here? Well, I did that, when Greg posted the balls comment above, but you all took off with my little in-character banter about a gun going off by itself and it just grew out of control from there. So, I don't necessarily believe your flamebait policy, either.) However, despite my disbelief and your continued misreading of what I think I'm typing very clearly, the offer still stands: I won't post or even acknowledge you all anymore as long as it stays civil here on our talk page. (In-Game activity I couldn't care less about.) Francis Snottly III 16:28, 4 August 2006 (BST)
"I said you were assuming we didn't keep the info elsewhere by claiming our edits would help us keep our profiles known." — seems we both misinterpreted something then. I wasn't saying you didn't keep track of your profiles, I meant that you could gauge how many of your profiles we know about by watching my edits.
As I said, what individual members do is up to them. If they wish to come here and flamebait, do not take that as an indication that all will. Respond to each in kind. Just for your information: ASS isn't about role playing. Nothing of the sort. As such it was assumed that you were being a smartarse with your "guns go off" tale. If you want roleplaying with your griefing, look up the Philosophe Knights. Enough of that for now. Could you answer my question below? I could get on with the exceptions were that to be clarified. –Xoid STFU! 17:05, 4 August 2006 (BST)
Well, there we are. I was assuming you were playing some kind of role with the group and its griefing thing, so I thought a lighthearted tale about someone who shouldn't be playing with guns nearly but not killing one of you (after all the murders) would be taken as a role and not pure asshattery! The rest of it has grown out of those initial assumptions, and honestly, I was still playing a role for a long while and still didn't know what comments were real or not; I think you might have seen me wonder at some point how far it was being taken in game and out of game? So, can we drop all of this and put it behind us now? I'd like to keep the Wiki for civil discussion with maybe a fun poke or two (your initial query here could have been a friendly nudge without all the other baggage we built up :) ) The rest of the trash talk we can keep in game where it can't be confused as anything but game talk. Well? -- Francis Snottly III 17:35, 4 August 2006 (BST)
P.S. I can't answer your question. Abi or SuperTed will have to make that decision. -- FSIII 17:39, 4 August 2006 (BST)
Sure. We'll keep the propaganda and trash talk in game. I got most the page updated, but I can't be bothered to do any more of the probs. I really should've started at the top of the list and just worked my way down. I'm sure I missed one or two that we had. –Xoid STFU! 17:45, 4 August 2006 (BST)
Thanks. Can you pass this on down the line in your group? I don't want to post on your talk page lest I break our rules already or someone there takes it as such. That Philosophe Knights link looks interesting as far as PK groups go; their policy of keeping game and wiki separate is spelled out well. Thanks for that link! I'll start looking over more groups for my other characters to play in then. Good luck in whatever you do. -- Francis Snottly III 18:02, 4 August 2006 (BST)
I understand Francis' enmity with me, but would prefer if he kept the flaming to places on the wiki where it is already rampant, instead of spicing up your group's talk page. Regardless, I have a question: "Level 40 is currently maxed out", I assume that members like Syagrius who have every skill including brain rot don't get any special classification? Also: some of your members (who I assume haven't used the wiki in any great frequency) simply used Random Abandoned Member's Name instead of Random Abandoned Member's Name. They can save themselves the trouble of ever getting a page moved then speedily deleted by ensuring that it is created with the User: prefix. (See the speedy deletions page, criterion 9 for only slightly more information.) –Xoid STFU! 15:23, 4 August 2006 (BST)
First of all Xoid, thanks for updating the levels. Now, those members with brain rot are probably already inactive (playing as a zombie), so I'm not sure if we should assign a special message to them. The fact that Syagrius is on the active list is because we haven't updated it in a while, but we plan on doing it next week. As for those using Random Abandoned Member's Name instead of Random Abandoned Member's Name, I plan on adding the "user" part on the next update of the lists. --Abi79 AB 12:16, 5 August 2006 (BST)

NecroTech

you know, protecting the YRC is dandy, but I think that The Abandoned should also work on defending the NecroTech buildings in Yagoton. It is clear why I say this if you check out NecroTech_Yagoton's page. If you notice, in the descriptions of any of the three NecroTech buildings, it does not say anywhere that it is a safe place to rest and recover AP. I had just been revived outside of the Serrell building by some kind stranger, and as soon as I get up, some zombie comes and kills me again. Yagoton is not exactly a safe place. But, I guess neither is anywhere. However, I would like to request that some of the NecroTech buildings in Yagoton be defended, so that people can rest there without worrying about some zombie bursting through the doors and ransacking the place. --The Random Man 08:23, 11 August 2006 (BST)

Out of the three Necrotech buildings that are present in Yagoton, the Serrell building is being used as a Brain-rotted zombie clinic, and so is most likely to attract a lot of zombie activity. The Serrell Building's description suggests quite strongly that no-one sleep there. Likewise, the Whatmore Building is the primary resource point for the YRC, and it's description also states not to sleep there. The Style building makes no such statement, and like the description says, is more often than not correctly barricaded and manned.
I would suggest that it's your tactics regarding standing up, and which buildings you enter that is at fault. The safest thing to do is not to stand up until you have enough AP to move to a safe building. Whilst you are lying down after revivification, you are not going to get killed by anyone as you cannot be attacked.
The Yagoton Barricade Plan is essential reading for you, I'd suggest, and you take note of which buildings are enterable, and which ones aren't. Of course, the barricade plan is just that, a plan; some people are unaware of it's existence and barricade buildings up too strongly. When a member of The Abandoned finds one of these buildings, they will usually take the barricades down to the correct level. That, of course, doesn't stop anyone re-barricading at a later time.
--Lucien CaldwellAB 22:25, 12 August 2006 (BST)
Part of the problem with the barricade plans is paranoid survivors who shit themselves the moment a zombie bashes on the 'cades. Then they barricade up to EHB and soon you've got high levels dying in the street because they can't get inside. At least, that's my experience in other 'bubrs. Instead of tagging buildings with what barricade level it should be specifically held at, why not tag the URL to the barricade plan? Maybe get a TinyURL so there is some room for telling people what the link is to. Using the radio once in a while wouldn't hurt as well, though you rarely get anyone paying attention to radio messages anymore. –Xoid STFU! 09:39, 13 August 2006 (BST)
And then you run into another problem; having correctly tagged the building with the URL to the barricade plan - nice suggestion for tinyurl, btw - someone will then later come along, and tag it with something else. In Yagoton, that's more likely as not the location of the Whatmore building, and it's "shrine" status. So we're back to square one. In any case, tagging it doesn't mean the paranoid survivors won't barricade to EHB as soon as a Z knocks on the 'cades; paranoia always trumps a rationalised plan. And like you said, the radios are just about useless for disseminating information. --Lucien CaldwellAB 11:42, 13 August 2006 (BST)
Generally speaking, staying in an NT building is not a bright idea. They're priority targets for any zombie horde. As Lucien has said: one of the buildings is a rotter clinic, so avoid that. Also: it's a good idea to avoid the Whatmore as Red Zeko cultists, other miscellaneous PKers, etc, make sleeping in the place risky business. As Lucien said: the Style Building is probably the best out of the lot if you are intent on making an overnight stay. The Serrel building, I can't really give you any tips on. –Xoid STFU! 09:39, 13 August 2006 (BST)
