From The Urban Dead Wiki
Jump to navigationJump to search

Just created this page as a meeting point for all cartographers in Borehamwood

The logo sucks and the zombie pic has been used like a million time. Anyone has a better one, go ahead! --Zolt 8:40, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

I kind of like it. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 10:32, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Woo! Cartography! I can haz memborshipz too? --Jen 07:01, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Wow! I didn't expect to actually get answers in such a short time! What am I gonna do with you guys?
Well, to get started, I think we'll make use of the wiki page to post mapping 'targets', ie areas that we are lacking information on and need to be scouted.
To that effect, it would be nice if you could post your approximate current location. Balfa and I have been mapping the northwestern confines, but I don't know about the rest of you.
Then, most of the actual work will be done on the local suburb's wiki maps... update them manually or put up screenshots or iwitness shots, whatever. I also cannot encourage you enough to post iwittys for Duke_Garland's Map, which is turning out to be the best resource on mapping data so far. (Although personally, I find using iwitty is kind of cheating: it gives you the actual coordinates!!! So it kills the thrill of figuring out where the hell you're at, or the surprise of linking up with another explorer's map.
On our group's wiki page, you can also post interesting or funny locations that you come across around Borehamwood. I heard that in the southeast they have a river, and an actual bridge upon it! I'm almost tempted to make the 90+ AP trip just to see that for myself.
UD profiles would be nice too, to put up a member list (along with honorary degrees, awards and so on!)

In due time, we will need a forum or some place to chat easily. Since I'm a total n00b at that, I'm trying to see if some l33t admin from existing groups could host us. If you have any suggestion, go ahead!

You don't have to go all the way over there for something interesting. I think the pub in the middle of nowhere is plenty interesting enough :D Countryside_(West) ! My current location is west West Borehamwood, and I'm planning on running SW of here to see if this Elstree thing really exists ;) Balfa 17:58, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
I'll hang around too, I'm am shuffling around this place lost. DANCEDANCEREVOLUTION (TALK | CONTRIBS) 07:50, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Big Survivors Little Survivor

Welcomes you to Borehamwood. Just extending the hand of friendship from another survivor group and offering our services both on wiki and in game if you need anything just ask.

Thanks for the welcome, Rosslessness, and the friendship is gladly accepted and returned. Just a technicality, we are actually a survivor/zombie group: we won't kick a member out just because he's taken the Great Step, and will strive to provide recreational activities and field outings for both sub-groups in our little community.
Best regards --Zolt 4:05, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
Noted. Just adding our support to your sterling work. --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 17:21, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

Borders.

Can any of your members help out with the mystery of NW BHW west border? Does it join to countryside? Or radlett? --RosslessnessWant a Location Image? 21:18, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
