Running Man Journals

It is tradition in the Running Man Tournament for the runners to keep a journal documenting where they slept each night, where they managed to recover artifacts or clothing items, to note any crazy events and most importantly - to record their spectacular death

Be creative and preserve your glorious run for posterity

Runner #1 Samuel Plisken

Run #1
Day 1
Day 2 Eaten by a Zed.
Run #2
Day 1 Caught and killed by Luis Tully!

Runner #2 Dr Mugwump

Run #1
Day 1: A Day 1 debacle! Dr Mugwump left too many clues for a determined Luis Tully who cornered him in an Artifact Museum and shot him down. Dr Mugwump did manage to gather a few bits of clothes and garner some points, and also exacted a bit of revenge by mauling Tully as a zombie. The black robes worn by Dr Mug, appear to be a trend in Runner ill-fortune...
Run #2
Day 1 Ping at (43,48), Mugwump scores 2 points for posting his ping, total run score is 2. Mug spent the night at (,).
Day 2 Ping at (15,47), Mugwump scores 2 points for posting his ping, total run score is 4. Mug spent the night at (,).
Day 3 Ping at (22,40), Mugwump scores 2 points for posting his ping, total run score is 6. Mug spent the night at (,).
Day 4 Ping at (45,30), Mugwump scores 2 points for posting his ping, and an additional 4 points for retreiving a Zookeeper's Peeked Cap, total run score is 12. Mug spent the night at (,).
Day 5 Ping at (55,36), Mugwump scores 2 points for posting his ping, total run score is 14. Caught by Tokarishi in the Towker Building (62,43) and shot dead! Score 26 points for Toka!

Runner #3 Co Fragment

Run #1
Day 1: 16 Ping at (57,77), slept soundly in the Pyke Building and points awarded as follows: 2 points for ping, 4 points for football jersey, 5 points for damage delt to hunters.
Day 2: 14 Ping at (76,97) and points awarded as follows: 2 points for ping, 4 points for black robes.
Day 3: Prior to new ping, Co Fragment was caught by Luis Tully in a Warehouse in Scarletwood at grid coordinate (78,87). Tully tossed his body outside in order to avoid another revenge mauling like he got at the hands of Dr Mugwump on the previous run, however, he is holding tight with a syringe in case Co Frag wants a revive so they can return to Clatters together and share a frosty mug of ale. Good run Co Frag!
Run #2
First attept blighted by a "collar malfunction." Run was then re-strarted.
Day 1: Friday, September 5: at 16 AP the Running Man was located at grid coordinate (52,91)
Day 2: Saturday, September 6: at 14 AP the Running Man was located at grid coordinate (28,92)
Day 3: Sunday, September 7: at 14 AP the Running Man was located at grid coordinate (47,53)
Day 4: Monday, September 8: just got eaten by a zmombie in Club Whitting [44,41] in Barrville. Guess what I just put on! Black Robes! Black Robes! Black Robes! It is the curse of the Black Robes! No one has lasted a full day after putting on the Black Robes! Great Run Co Frag!

Runner #4 Luis Tully

Run #1
Day 1: 16 Ping at (47,43), Luis Tully managed to find a Black Tailcoat while rummaging through the master suite closet inside the Alner Mansion garnering himself 4 Runner points to go along with his 2 points for posting a ping. An attempt to get a #10 jersey from Clapton Stadium failed miserably when Tully discovered the entire facility in a complete and utter ruin! Trusting in his running skills, Tully picked a cozy spot behind a ruined teller's cubicle inside Rawles Bank (38,45) and slept the night away dreaming of armloads of conceptual sculptures and ming vases.
Day 2: 14 Ping at (16,68), Luis managed gather some new Studded Leather Trousers from Ackland Mall but had his hopes of gathering an artifact dashed when he discovered that his target museum required 7 AP to repair!!! Dejected and bitter at the destruction wrought by the undead in this area of town, Tully summoned his resolve and set off in search for a good sleeping place. Although less than optimum, Tully crawled over the pitiful barricades at Linck Bank (21,75) and put his trust in the Running Man gods that he would survive another night.
Day 3: Determined to score more points, Tully made for the green zones of Malton and quickly gathered a Black Fedora from Tompson Mall and a silver Medallion from St. Mark's Cathedral. Tired from a long run he filed his 14 Ping at (38,88) and then scampered through the rubble to find a hiding place inside Club Bennett at (44,91). Tully's rest did not last long as the wiley hunter Co Fragment and his wretched partiality for seedy, beer-stained clubs found Tully dozing behind a torn up velvet booth. Luckily for Tully, Co Frag's day of hunting had left him winded and exhausted, and his first shotgun shot only grazed Tully's shoulder. Wide eyed with surging adrenaline, Tully mounted the stairs to the upper floors. As he gained the second floor he could hear Co Frag calling in his position over the radio. Moments later and Tully was now dodging Tarheel's blazing guns! Two hunters on his tail, Tully used all of his tricks and moved from one hiding place to another until his Detonation Collar finally blinked green, releasing from the death-trap of Club Bennett! Leaving behind nothing more than a puff of dust and a simple prayer that the fire escape would hold -- Tully snuck out the back and fled the scene!
Day 4: A 12 Ping at (23,69)! Today Tully was able to find a #10 shirt at Clapton Stadium scoring himself 4 points. He eventually holed up for the night inside Bently Bank at (14,68) and enjoyed a peaceful, uninterrupted sleep.
Day 5: A 12 Ping at (49,82)! A day of pure running for Tully and a strategy to put him in position to gather another artifact for some big points. Tully doubled back on his run trajectory and hid inside Club Veysey (41,87) where he hoped to have some company and music to pass the evening, but instead, spent the night in solitude.
Day 6: A 10 Ping at (63,88)! A collasal waste of AP at the Eastwood Museum searching for hidden artifacts had Tully scrambling like a mad-man to find a decent hiding place for the evening. Reluctantly he remained within the free-run route from his ping and sequestered himself inside the decrepit old Cheesman Bank at (54,98).
Day 7: An 8 Ping at (75,58)! Tully raced into the Clatworthy Arms today and installed his single artifact, said hello to Blix the Goblin, then took the biggest gamble of his run and hid inside the ruined shell of the Rathbone Cinema (71,54). Closing the doors and whispering a prayer, Tully nestled into a corner with his trusty six-shooter close at hand. Around midnight a zombie broke in and fumbled around, it finally sniffed out Tully who hadn't had a bath in a week. Luckily the darkened building helped Tully avoid the undead menace and once he escaped its grasp he was able to administer some first aid to himself and heal the damage done. A few minutes before 8 am EST, Sam Plisken finally entered the cinema, but once again the darkened building saved Tully from any major damage. All said, Luis Tully successfully survived 7 days as Running Man!!!
Run #2
Day 1: Got my blue shoes from the Stadium then ran like a crazy head looking for a spot to get back inside -- probably wasted 3-4 AP doing that...likely be dead in the AM.
Day 2: Got eaten by a feral zed last night. No surprise there, not a great run, should have studied my run zone better!

Runner #5 Tarheel

Run #1
Day 1: 16 Ping at (44,88), Tarheel managed to find a red number 10 football shirt and Krinks Power station overalls. I am not sure if the shirt was originally red or became red from overuse. I really like the overalls, they are very comfy and have these great loops to hold my favorite double barrel.
Day 2: 14 Ping at (20,96), I awoke in the dark. Not really sure if I was in the same place that I closed my eyes, or if I'd wake up looking at the sky. As I finally came to, I steadied myself and was glad to have survived another night. I am sure the hunters are closing in on me, but I need to remain strong. I need to start moving...I will my legs to take one step at at time....
Day 3: 14 Ping at (1,81), A noise startled me this morning, and a familiar smell...as my vision began to clear, what I thought was other survivors making breakfast, was actually a zombie rustling the other survivor. I managed to escape through the wide open doors without a scratch....that was close. Still no visible signs of the hunters...my tactics must be doing some good....we'll see if it lasts another night.
Day 4: 14 Ping at (38,92), Another night passed...these pieces of art work are starting to get heavy. I sure could use a pint of clatters and some fried gold...hopefully I'll survive a few more days...
Day 5: Frustrated hunters scoured the ping zone hunting for any sign of Tarheel after he managed to install 3 artifacts in Clatworthy Arms!!!
Day 6: Found by Luis Tully and shot for 34 points damage, it was too little, too late for Tully as the barricades came crashing down and a swarm of zombies took Tarheel before Tully could deliver a points scoring kill-shot!
Run #2
Day 1: 16 Ping at (97,28), I decided to see the NE section of Malton.
Day 2: 14 Ping at (70,26)
Day 3: 14 Ping at (61,43)

Runner #6 Tokarishi

Run #1
Day 1: Toka's 16 Ping was at (49,77), he was awarded 2 points for posting his ping and 4 points for collecting a #10 jersey from Clapton Stadium.
"It's just not worth it!" Toka screams as he leaps from a fire escape to the street below, ankle twisted and collar biting into his neck. The #10 jersey from Clapton Stadium is just too damned tight. That last leap wasn't worth it...off the running lanes but into the streets and exhausted. A hand opens the door of the nearby St. Anselm's Church (57,68), "In here!!"
The kindly members of the Church brought some grub and meds to bring him back to health, but the night was young...Late in the evening, the screams wake him from a deep sleep. In the corner a zed gnaws on one of his deliverers while the scream issues from some poor sot dragged out into the street. "Damn! Not the first night!" Toka puts away his shotgun and scrambles into the rafters. The hours of fear roll by, others come to barricade and clean out the church. Toka silently waits 'til morning...
Day 2: Toka's 14 Ping was at (90,66). Toka was awarded 2 points for posting his ping today. Toka spent the night at (,).
Day 3: Toka's 14 Ping was at (,). Toka was awarded 2 points for posting his ping and 16 points for installing a clay pot in the Clatworthy Arms. Toka spent the night at (,).

Run Discussions

Runners - please keep the following information for your journals:

The location of where you slept each night. (this info can be posted after your run is over, but is valuable for two reasons: one, it is fun for hunters to see how close they came to finding you, and two, it is proof that you complied with the rules and stayed within your ping zone as required!)
List how you scored any points for each day. This is good for posterity and also for other players to make sure you have tallied your points correctly.

Congrats

Wow great job creating this mini-game! --Obi + Talk!|TZH|MDK 22:05, 24 July 2008 (BST)
