Barricade Plan

Here is the Barricading plan for Wykewood. Feedback would be appreciated. The white squares are to be barricaded to EH+2. The squares with dots are to be barricaded to VS+2. The Skilliter Motel and the squares with diagonal lines are to be barricaded to EH+2. Wykewood UBP.png

Hi, I am Kabayashi of the Wykewood Strategic Recovery Unit. I would just like to leave a bit of a comment about the barricading plan that has been made so far. It is fair enough that we keep most resource Buildings up to VS, which is, in itself, a very wise thing. however, the problem comes from the over-barricading, (and in some case, underbarricading) of there buildings around it. Wykewood is mostly made of wide open spaces, and treking from one point to another costs a lot of AP. Many a wykewooder has died leaving their safehouse, and on their return, finding the building they were in maxed out to EH. Can I suggest a solution? That all buildings be kept at EH except for resource buildings, and a few buildings picked out. Its good to have EH buildings where people can hide in, but newbies have come in only to find either an EH building, or a non barricaded building. all of which have left them with no choice but to wander in the streets.

Also, If the only VS buildings are Resources, newbies are still screwed, as they tend to be a large target for zeds themselves.

There's only one Auto Repair in the burb; iirc, Auto Repair shops are the only good place to find fuel. New characters don't need to search for fuel, and generators do need the extra protection of heavy barricades. So I request that Chilcott Auto Repair [11, 78] be changed to heavy barricading, and that the Fursman Building [11, 79] be changed to a VS entry point. --Dan 02:07, 14 May 2006 (BST)

Also, The Skilliter Motel is our Phone Mast. We at the WyRSU are aiming to have this set up very soon but the building will need to be kept EH to stop zeds attacking the generator.

Wykewood Barricade plan updated

The Barricade plan has been updated. The white squares are to be barricaded to EH+2. The squares with dots are to be barricaded to VS+2. The Skilliter Motel and the squares with diagonal lines are to be barricaded to EH+2.

Revive points

Can anyone recommend an appropriate Revive point?--Zeke 03:41, 13 Jan 2006 (GMT)

How about St Egbert's Church? From there you can free run to a NecroTech building but it's far enough away from other important buildings to prevent too many Brain Rotters massing and causing casulties. I know the proximity to the phone mast could be a problem, but the primary issue with a revive point can it can be used for a staging ground to cause casualties. The Attack on Tompson Mall is a prime example.

I'm a big fan of St Ergberts church as well. a necrotech building is about 7e 1s of it and can be used for getting syringes. Plus most of the buildings around it are EH anyway, so they can keep keep it relatively safe. We just have to ensure that there is a VS building next to it for people just revived to run into.

druggeddwarf 14:31, 14 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Ok, St Julie's church has become the offical Revive point. We have Syringes there like nobody's business

I suppose it will be better to create a revive point at a cemetery [17, 75] due to the sacred ground policy. Baklajanets 9:28, 29 Apr (GMT)

Second Big Bash

In order to help future attempts by Survivors to coordinate a response to the 2nd Big Bash, I have set up a page specifically for this purpose called "Survivors vs The Second Big Bash". Please add any news on this page, and any ideas for strategy on the discussion page. Good luck! --Richardhg 03:55, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Ok, just wondering... Is there really SO much zombie activity in Wykewood that it's still red??? I'm over at another suburb, so just want to know... --Vezira 7:09, 6 November 2007 (PDT)

Barricade Plan

Moved to Wykewood Barricade Plan -- boxy T L ZS PA DA 05:54, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Moved from main page

...as of 27/12/07, Wykewood is not adhering to the Uniform Barricading Policy: The Samborne Walk Police Department is barricaded to EHB and cannot be entered by survivors. --Hungrygrok 17:27, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

...likewise the Lavington Crescent Police Department. --Hungrygrok 17:33, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

Lavington Crescent is back to VS, should stay that way, if no more zeds pop up. --Exp. 99 17:13, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Wykewood's Phone Mast

We currently have the hardware to get our mast up and running, but we need some folks willing to defend it.

WySRU are looking for able bodied volunteers willing to defend the mast. It's a garunteed safe house, and we'll maintain the barricades of a nearby building to VS so that folks can get back in again. All volunteers are welcome. Volunteers for this will also get first dibs on WySRU's revives. We're a small group but looking to expand and this is our first major project.

We're not just looking for fighters, either. We're going to need medics to patch up folks, and scouts to keep an eye out for incoming hordes.

Sign up by going to our section of the wiki and emailing the contact person. We'll give you full instructions. Once the Phone Mast is up and running, communications is suddenly much easier, and opens many doors for us.

This is near garunteed hunting and a safe-house too!

Zambaz An Arazaz! soon will come the time to lay waste to this suburb, and we belive this mobile phone mast will make a fine first conquest. Please put up a fight, we do so enjoy a challange. -- Dead On Arrival 10:41, 19 April 2006 (BST)

We might help, but our first intrest is the hospitals nearby. Josephine's Generals - 343 07:32, 8 May 2006 (BST)

Tactical Area Rescue is setting up a new base in the area and are willing to man the phone mast if that's alright with everyone here. we have the experience to defend it as our main base is the phone mast in Wyke Hills this is of course if it is alright with all the groups in the area which we hope to have an alliance with--Sharline Jade 00:36, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

News Archive

There have been a number of attacks on female survivors recently in nearby Ruddlebank by an individual called Nekro Tex. These attacks take the form of graphic descriptions of violent sexual assault. Residents are urged to be on the lookout for both Nekro Tex and his alt Jimmy Hellstorm, who he uses to find and harrass potential targets. If you are the target of such an attack or witness one, please take a screencapture and contact the DEM (see link for full report). -- Fingersmith 16:04, 17 September 2006 (BST)

Zombie killing opportunities abound for both high and low level characters. The area around Josephine and Adalbert Hospitals has a nice brisk level of undead targets. I don't know who is organizing this attack, but they keep coming. You bring your axe and shotgun, I'll supply the FAKs and beer. -- User:Ignatz 00:24, 05 October 2006 (EST)

Wykewood is getting fun around Halloween, leaves are turning, heads are rolling; good times...good times. In southern Wykewood the undead still make their presense known daily, breaking in Adalbert Hospital then getting soundly tossed out on their collective asses after killing a sleeper or two. It really seems like either a well run bunch of ferals or a group too cowardly to put their names in their descriptions. I'm betting the latter. yeah, that is right..I'm callin' y'all out. Come get me. User:Ignatz 21:07, 22 October 2006 (EST)

In a related note I have been told a zombie has been seen breaking into Adalbert Hospital with the Group affiliation Ignatz's Zombie Spies. I thank you, and I am signing autographed photos at mall near you soon. I'd be glad to include a complimentary Headshot with each headshot.

Great Suburb Group Massacre 2010

All suburb wiki pages are undergoing a clean up to remove inactive groups from the group listing (see here: this suburb's groups). If you are a group currently listed in this suburb, you will be contacted on your group's talk page within the next few days and asked to reply, indicating that you are active in this suburb. Groups that fail to reply within two weeks of being contacted will automatically be removed from the suburbs where they are listed.

We're posting here in the hopes that more groups will be aware of the clean up and can respond appropriately, since our team does not have the time nor the manpower to seek out every group in-game or track down its group members elsewhere on the wiki. If you know that some groups in your suburb do not check the wiki, please be a good neighbor and let them know that they NEED to check it for this, or else they will be unlisted in the near future.

The wiki members coordinating the cleanup will be using the table below to track their progress in communicating with the various groups. Please do not edit it if you are not involved with The Great Suburb Group Massacre 2010 team.
