[edit] Team Survivor
Team Survivor is a nomadic, dual-natured, group that leans toward the pro-survivor cause. You may have trouble accepting this concept at first but please read on to learn more.
Our group objective is to act in a supporting role for the local survivors. We do not concern ourselves with PKers or any other criminal elements beyond reporting their locations or withholding the occasional revive. As survivors, our focus is solely on maintaining resource buildings and providing healing and revives to the people who use them. Our target will change weekly and keep our group moving continuously throughout the South-Western portion of Malton. We may find a more permanent residence at some point but for now, we will continue to wander.
When members of our team find themselves to be dead, they do not simply shamble over to the closest revive point and wait. As a dual-natured group, we play the game from both points-of-view, even if the zombie view is less than strategic. Meaning, our dead members will behave like “dumb” zombies. Zombies motivated by hunger alone, and not the need to ruin a suburb in order to prevent it from being habitable to our precious food resource. We are pro-survivor and therefore know that it serves no purpose to ransack or ruin a building. We do not attack resource buildings, unless they are the only structure with lights on, when we rise up after being killed. Any survivor with the misfortune to get caught outside will quickly find themselves to be a tasty morsel for our dead team members, as would be the case in any “real-world” scenario.
Reasons for the dual-nature…
Your Urban Dead experience will be much closer to the way it was intended to be played. Also, I believe, by playing in this style we will gain the respect of local ferals and zombie groups who cross our path. And, another more basic reason is faster XP generation. You gain XP at a higher rate if you continue to play as a zombie versus just sitting and swaying at a revive point.
As a member of Team Survivor you will be asked to choose 1 of 3 playing preferences: Standard, Medic, or Exterminator. These units represent the 3 basic styles of play and are all equal within our group.
- The Medic specializes in healing and revives. Members who choose this path will almost never have firearms or ammunition, opting to save the majority of their cargo room for first-aid-kits (FAKs) and needles.
- The Exterminator unit specializes in killing zombies so their packs will be jammed full of guns and ammo.
- Then we have the Standard unit. These guys do it all, avoiding either of the more focused unit paths for a more diverse gaming experience. We need members in all 3 fields and you will be able to bounce from one unit to the next every so often, unless you make a habit of it, in-which-case you will simply be placed into the Standard option and allowed to float as you see fit.
Our goal is to give you a very relaxed, yet cooperative, group environment that promotes a friendly atmosphere, both inside our forum and in the game of Urban Dead. I want our members to be given the utmost respect for their ability to refrain from player killing (PKing) or obnoxious behavior and I hope that Team Survivor becomes a beacon to all pro-survivor groups out there.
Why join?
If you enjoy speedy revives, lean toward the survivor cause, and desire a cooperative experience, then our group will be right up your alley. We do not encourage all the drama that contaminates most groups and we don’t get caught up in PKer wars. We do not talk trash nor spread lies about players, and we travel often. We simply play on a daily or semi-daily basis, focusing on our goals and keeping our primary objectives fresh. We indulge in a friendly atmosphere with a wide range of conversation topics. Within our forum and chatbox, You will be welcome to share your real life, your views, and your experiences both UD and otherwise. Team Survivor is a social bunch, and we enjoy Urban Dead for its core values, not the drama filled mess that it has become.
Objectives:
Our main objectives will be resource buildings and revive points (RP), to repair, maintain, and power these buildings, along with emptying revive cues at parks and RP’s. We will also be an effective zombie killing force. Our plan is to quick strike a building. Get in, remove the zeds, repair and power, search, and get out, on to the next objective. This method scores us many small victories, while leaving little food for the zombies who later come knocking.
