Description

The Adkins Motel was a "love motel" situated in the suburb of Pescodside alongside the outskirts of Malton. The motel was opened in 1994 by a Japanese consortium that had, at the time, hoped to construct motels and hotels similar to those found in Japan, only here in Malton. The purpose of the motel was to provide a romantic location where a couple might have "intimate relations". The trouble began when the consortium discovered that many of Malton's suburbs wanted nothing to do with the proposed love motel. Finally they were granted permission to build the motel in Pescodside, but on the suburb's outskirts and under the condition that the motel had an unassuming name. So it was that the motel became known as the "Adkins Motel" rather than the more fancifully named "Motel Love-U-Time".

In addition to its name the motel was also constructed with an unassuming exterior architecture, but when it came to the interior design the Japanese consortium made sure that the motel had every type of room imaginable for adventurous young couples to enjoy. These theme rooms ranged from the simple, such as the "Hearts Room" which had a Valentine's Day theme, to the more exotic, such as the "Jungle Room" which was covered in leopard skins and jungle plants, of both the real and plastic variety. Every room had its choice of music or sound tracks, with the aforementioned Jungle Room playing a long looped track of realistic jungle noises.

Rooms were often rented for short periods of time referred to as a "rest" which lasted about three hours, as few couples needed the rooms for longer periods. There was also a very cheap daytime (off-peak) rate. Reservations were not possible and overnight stay rates only become available after 10:00 PM. These days survivors are known to stay wherever they like in the motel's many different theme rooms, with the exception being the unpopular "S&M Room".

Barricade Policy

This building should be Extremely Heavily barricaded at all times. This is in accordance with the mutually agreed-upon Pescodside Barricade Plan set forth by local survivor groups and the Dulston Alliance, who routinely work together to monitor that the barricades for this building are at the aforementioned level. This building is meant to serve as a safehouse for Malton's veteran survivors.

Survivors who find the building's barricades below their assigned level are asked to assist in raising them back up in order to help ensure the safety of all the survivors staying inside the building. Any survivor found lowering the barricades may be directly "put to the question" by any member of the Dulston Alliance or a vigilante-minded survivor who catches the culprit in the act. If this happens the accused survivor must present a valid reason for their actions or be labeled a zombie spy/death cultist and be judged accordingly. So always be cautious lest you find yourself summarily executed for crimes against humanity.
