Operation: Red Mist

Date: JAN, 01 2009 - FEB 01 2009: Written by guest Anaconda TFN reporter: ieatflesh01 on March 6th 2009

After the holiday festivities, Anaconda needed a challenge. And a challenge they got! Commander Charlie Mon decided that we would leave Scarletwood and head up to zed-infested Barrville. We were to make our safehouse just south of Floyde Stadium, and rebuild from there. We fought a constant battle to keep the stadium zed free, and we were winning!! On the 5th of January, poor Couponballer was killed, along with his chance at winning the Extreme Vigilance Challenge. We mourned his loss, revived him, and got back to work.

During our challenging operation, Tiago Ferreira requested permission to attempt the Heavens Touch ABA. We all wished him well. Alas, he was unable to complete his quest. If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Lucy and Spacepirat92 recovered a very “Strange Bank”, bringing it from ruined to extremely heavily barricaded. As time progressed, the strange little bank would become our new safehouse.

After returning the western portion of Barrville to a liveable state, the Anacondas received a distress call from survivors in Gulsonside. They were in danger of attack from the dreaded RRF, continuing on their Mall Tour ’09. We stocked up on ammunition, FAKS, syringes, generators and fuel, and headed down to help our fellow survivors.

We arrived at Blesley Mall to find that it had been breached. Everyone got to work and soon enough, the Mall was up and operational. On the 18th of January at 6:15PM, the mall was breached again. Terketz1 watched in horror as Lord Moloch and the RRF broke the barricades and began to kill survivors. As of 10:29PM, Anaconda had the ‘cades back to EHB on all 4 corners and had recovered the mall.

Unfortunately by 11:03PM, once again the mall had fallen and we retreated back to our safehouse to regroup. For the next week, we fought the zeds hard, losing and retaking the mall with the help of all of the survivors that we had revived. On another note, Tiago Ferreira completed his “Heavens Touch” ABA. Nicely done Tiago!!!

After cleaning up more of Gulsonside, we headed back south into Scarletwood to aid our newest allies, the Garniss Border Patrol. As we arrived in the vicinity of the Garniss building, we began to repair, cade, and revive. Hospitals, NTs and PDs were up and functional in short order. Efficiency was the order of the day. It wasn’t too long before the Garniss Building had been recovered, the GBP was up and among the living, and we had succeeded in our mission. It was at that point that LT Lucy made the following statement, “Okey dokey guys. Operation Red Mist is at a close, so start reporting in the Operation: Leisure Rules! thread.”

Operation: Red Mist had been accomplished with both ups and downs, but Anaconda came through with flying colors, as always!

Operation: Fort Peril

Date: May 8-June 8, 2008. Written by Miss Elainious on June 17, 2008

The Fortress received a distress call from our allies, BMC (British Military Corps) that Whtteniside and Fort Perryn were in imminent danger from an advancing combined horde of the RRF and DvEM. Further intelligence revealed that MoA and FU were also closing in on the fort. Anaconda restocked and set out from their recent mission in the NE to defend Fortress one and hopefully get some delicious BMC pies, alas before the team could get into place after its long journey, the Fort had fallen.

Undaunted, Anaconda instead decided to swing in behind the path of the horde and repair the considerable damage left in the wake of its south easterly advance with plans to retake Fort Perryn as a grand finale. The team worked through the suburbs of Scarletwood and Danversbank with allies such as Garnis Border Patrol. Buildings were cleared, repaired and caded, locals were healed and revived and our progress marked by steady status changes on the map. In the interim Anaconda kept a close eye on F1, waiting for the right time to liberating from the undead masses still occupying it. We moved forward into Whitteniside and with local allies such as BMC, soon had the suburb in good order except for the jewel in the crown, Fort Perryn.

With Whittenside rapidly coming back to life thanks to repair and revival efforts by Anaconda and our allies, we turned our attention to F1. Short forays into the Fort showed that although zed numbers had dropped there was still considerable resistance present. Anaconda called for reinforcements and Teams Cold Cell and Dark Watch rapidly responded, both eager to do battle and reclaim Fortress 1. The three teams gathered supplies in preparation for a long siege and planned their attack carefully with allies The Cannonball Crew (CBC), Fort Perryn Defence Force (FPDF), BMC and Creedy Defence Force(CDF).

June 1 proved to be an amazing day as all the hard work and planning came together for a successful joint RT strike with The Fortress (Teams Anaconda / Cold Cell / Dark Watch) and our respected allies CC , FPDF & CDF. The end result of the initial strike was 24 zeds killed with these bodies plus several others unceremoniously dumped outside the gates of the fort. Every building was repaired within the fort, 3 essential buildings powered and barricade levels for each building, as well as the gatehouse, at barricade plan levels. Over 30 people took part in the phenomenal RT strike, coordinating via chat room, others coming in later for backup assistance, evicting zeds, healing, maintaining cades. When the gates went to EHB at midnight GMT, 33 people were in the gatehouse holding the fort while other occupied various internal buildings and over 27 zeds had been evicted. This was an unprecedented event and the level of cooperation and goodwill shown during this strike should be an example to all survivor groups in Malton.

Anaconda and the other Fortress teams remained at Fort Perryn for another week, wanting to see the fort and our allies through the first VSB day following Perryn’s rebuilding and into the next. The week was a test of vigilance for all, with frequent break-ins and barricade attacks the norm. Wednesday proved to be a challenge as the horde numbers outside the gates swelled before the barricades were lowered to VSB. However this was no match for vigilant Fortress members and allies, all attempts by the zeds to reclaim Perryn were effectively repelled. When the gates were locked at EHB that night we all breathed a sigh of relief, we had withstood the first test and now even more survivors had swelled the ranks of fort defenders. Unfortunately the barricade lowering had also added griefers, breathing zeds and Pkers to the occupants within the walls of F1. Despite these minor annoyances and the occasional pathetic and uncoordinated zed attempt to infiltrate Perryn, Anaconda held strong with team-mates, friends and allies for the week, leaving as planned when the cades returned to VSB on June 8 to prepare for the 2008 mass chainkill event.

Special thanks and congratulations to our friends in Cold Cell, Dark Watch and allies CBC, FPDF, BMC & CDF. A final thank you to Mad Dog Murro, an officer and a gentleman, it was a pleasure working with you.

Operation: Northern Lights

Operation Date: April 16 – May 6, 2008. Written by Miss Elainious on June 17, 2008

Northern Malton had been flattened by the hordes, specifically The Dead whose soul objective was to destroy all life in Malton. The northern half of Malton had become one giant red zone and The Dead had turned their hungry eyes to the south. Their southern hordes have not been as successful and they have begun to move some of their numbers south to reinforce the southern hordes. As they sent numbers south and the RRF returned to their home in Ridleybank, Anaconda bypassed them and moved northward and into the northeast to restore life and light.

It was a long trip, requiring that the team stop at a couple of locations along the journey, the first stop was Roachtown. Anaconda had intended only to stay the night, but we found unexpected hospitality in the form of a very friendly survivor group, the Roach Klips. To repay their kind hospitality Anaconda stayed a few days, repairing local resource buildings, establishing a free-running lane to Stickling Mall, and recovering the mall. Unfortunately the Eastonwood Ferals began a siege in the mall just as Anaconda was preparing to move on, but repairing and lighting the mall even for a short time gave some opportunity for locals to restock on supplies and a new alliance was forged for The Fortress.

Anaconda proceeded to Santlerville where the team intended only to spend the night en route to the final destination of Dulston, they had been warned to watch for a known zerger in the area by the Dribbling Beavers. All was quiet initially, but in the dead of night a suspicious character slipped into the building. The drowsing Conda’s were suspicious and those suspicions were well founded when the team found themselves under attack by the very zerger the Beavers had warned of. Seven Condas were felled by morning. Anaconda organized efficiently and all members were revived and healed in short order. We appreciated the hospitality and intelligence provided by our new friends the Dribbling Beaver and reciprocated by sharing all information they gathered during the zerg attack with the Beavers. Anaconda also thanks PrepH for facilitating this communication. A new alliance was formed with the Beavers after this episode and the team is pleased to see that Dark Watch’s PrepH has taken on the role of Ambassador with our new friends.

In the final leg of our journey we reached our last destination, Dulston. Here we met the Dultson Alliance, a multi group alliance who’s member’s have a vested interest in the far northeast of Malton. We worked with the alliance to repair buildings and revive fallen survivors in Dulston and surrounding area. Dark Watch joined Anaconda to assist in retaking the mall and surrounding resource buildings. A highlight of this was a 15 person RT with members of both teams and led by Officer Duncan in Anaconda’s new program encouraging all team members to develop and run mini-ops. This OP was a huge success with a whopping 8 buildings cleared repaired and/or barricaded.

Anaconda received news that a horde was coming our way. We had worked too hard and our allies were depending on us, so we bid farewell to our friends in Dark Watch as they moved out to start their mission, and we bunkered down and prepared to take a stand. Analyzing the available data we surmised that Whitlock NT would be the likely first target. Staying vigilant the team was the first to note the cades begin to drop, sounding the alarm and trying to rebuild the cades, Miss Elainious was PKed for her trouble. A swift revive by Tommy Crowbar put her back in the NT within minutes to terminate the PKer who had turned his guns on Tommy, as Miss E fought with the PKer Dedun fought of the attempts of a second spy to take out the NT’s genny and other team members kept the cades up with the other survivors , many of whom were our allies from the Dultson Alliance. By the end of the night The Dead had been beaten and slunk off with their tails between their legs after receiving an unexpected spanking by a hearty group of brave survivors. Anaconda left Dulston fully restored with new friends and a new alliance for The Fortress, the Dulston Alliance.

Some Stats: Zeds Killed = 45 Buildings Repaired = 45 Buildings barricaded = 124 Survivors healed = 84 Generators installed = 12 Generators refuelled = 10 Survivors revived = 31 Casualties = 13 New Alliances = 3

Operation: Big Brother

March 4 – March 11, 2008, Written by Miss Elainious

The presence of a new survivor group patrolling the area of Gulsonside, Scarletwood and Danversbank attracted the wrong sort of attention. Evil Avatar was a new survivor group with a large membership of approximately 150 most of who were only level 1 – 5. Their presence in the area had attracted the attention of PKers and the RRF who decided to march southward and snack on the fresh meat. Team Anaconda decided to move to the area to defend it against the looming RRF invasion.

The operation began in an unusual way, Anaconda shared its initial safe house with the Garniss Border Patrol where they often shared accommodations and partied with members of the Feral Undead as well. Local zombies, unusual friends of our allies had a disturbing habit of knocking down the barricades to kiss (chew) and hug (claw) their GBP friends, occasionally dragging them out into the street for fun. They received the occasional headshot from Anaconda members for their trouble, especially from 'the Irish twins' Rob Kirkman and Joe Rocket who were a big hit with the locals (despite putting the biggest dent in their liqour supply). The team enjoyed the beer provided by our friends, danced and partook in a karaoke night which ended abruptly when CO Crowbar had too much whiskey and shattered eardrums with his vocal offerings. We then moved to a new safe house.

Amidst the partying Anaconda was of course taking care of business. Even though the team was only in the area for less than a week, they killed over 15 zeds and took back several key resource buildings including hospitals, 2 NTs and Blesely mall. Anaconda also revived locals, healed many survivors and reinforced barricades throughout Scarletwood and Gulsonside.

Anaconda would like to thank Garniss Border Patrol for their kind hospitality and apologize for headshotting their pet zombies…we blame it on the fine but potent beer the GBP brew there.

Operation: Back to School

Operation Date: February 10, 2008-March 01, 2008 Written: May 2, 2008, by Miss Elainious.

In a true Anaconda diplomatic style, a referendum was underway to choose between locations for our next operation. Word reached the team that our beloved Fortress 4 and Boot Camp were in trouble. The RRF were attacking! The option to defend F4 and BC was added and won by a landslide. The very foundation of The Fortress was being threatened by our arch nemesis the RRF, and Team Anaconda heeded the call to arms.

Within 2 days Anaconda had restocked and moved into place. On arrival the situation was grim, F4 was in ruins and Boot Camp had prepared evacuation plans. The small number of F4 staff under the expert guidance of CO Jack Patient as well as Drill Sgt Hogan’s Hero had been working heroically to keep Boot Camp safe but against increasingly bad odds.

Moving at our usual lightening pace and using MSN to coordinated real-time strikes, within 2 days of Anaconda’s arrival the team had taken or retaken 15 buildings in the suburb. Numerous un-dead found themselves evicted and just a little deader. The evening crew, being larger, cleared multiple buildings each night in precision strikes. Morning and afternoon crews provided reinforcement by reclaiming any buildings that had been breached overnight, reinforcing cades and providing detailed scouting reports, often utilizing well coordinated RT strikes as well. Anaconda was also supported by the F4 defense staff and Boot Camp who scouted, repaired buildings, reinforced barricades and killed the enemy themselves. Anaconda was also grateful for the medical support of the Boot Camp recruits who healed the weary soldiers after each battle. The team enjoyed the company of the occasional BC recruit on some of the RT strikes and the entire group worked tirelessly to defend and maintain the area.

Anaconda worked seamlessly and within a week the situation had improved to the point where plans for evacuation were cancelled. As the operation continued F4 was reclaimed, the suburb improved, a free-running route was established to the mall and finally the mall was reclaimed in RT OP by the evening crew. It was then reinforced, lit and defended by the morning afternoon crews. Our work done, we bid our farewells to our new comrades-in-arms in Boot Camp and our old friends in F4 to journey to our next operation.

Some Notables: - Anaconda, F4 defense and BC reclaimed and held the suburb against the RRF - Evacuation of Boot Camp was averted - F4 was rebuilt - Woodroffe mall was reclaimed by Anaconda - Gained a new recruit who noticed our work in the mall and was impressed. - Received kudos from Paradox allies in the mall - BC was entertained with home-baked cookies and bedtime stories by Anne Tardew - Co Crowbar and LT Miss E were noticed to be missing on Valentine’s night (rumors abound )

Like an immovable rock in a raging river, our combined forces maintained an island of yellow on the map while the blood-red river of destruction, diverted from its course, flowed around us.

Operation: Target Practice (January 25 – February 1, 2008)

--Miss Elainious 10:22, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

The Siege on Giddings Mall and the Moorish NT Building lasted for nearly 1 month, in part because splendid RT coordination by Anaconda and efficient barricading, not to mention the level of enthusiasm and spirit. The bash was countered at all their attacks and paid for them in full because of the Anaconda’s strategic defensive knowledge. Following Operation Armageddon, Anaconda remained in Pitneybank for over a week repelling the horde and executing the invaders with extreme prejudice. The goal of the team was to restructure and perfect the art of real time coordinated strike operations while holding ground against Big Bash II. Team Anaconda along with support from our friends in Team Dark Watch performed numerous real time raids on the Big Bash II horde at Giddings Mall and helped repel the zombie forces for over a week. The team used an amazing amount of coordination during the entire mission and were one step ahead of the bash at all times. Most importantly, they kept their spirits high and stayed vigilant throughout. Anaconda at one point or another executed all of the Bash’s leadership

Highlights of this operation included real-time coordinated strikes in Giddings Mall which saw the repelling of incursions of 20, 30, 35 and up to 75 zombies. Incredibly well executed actions of monumental proportions which once again demonstrated why Anaconda is known as a well-oiled tactical team. Rob Kirkman achieved his Warlord ABA and several BB leaders met their timely demise at the hands of team members. Anaconda became such a thorn in the side of Big Bash II that playing times of certain members such as CO Tommy Crowbar and LT Miss Elainious were noted by BB2 leadership and they were targeted for execution. Incredibly even with this knowledge and being active in large numbers at the right time BB2 were unable to kill the Anaconda members even when faced with them and found themselves perishing instead.

Tactical retreat from Pitneybank only became necessary when changes to the game and noted resurgence of characters associated with David the Zerger tipped the odds in the enemies favour. At this time Anaconda made a successful tactical retreat without the loss of any team members. Team Anaconda thanks Team Dark Watch with whom they coordinated as well as the shoppers of Giddings Mall who rallied with them, even healing team members during real-time strikes and offering words of support and encouragement. Their spirit in the face of adversity was inspiring to us all. All members of the team performed exceptionally well during this operation and perfected real-time coordination techniques.

Operation: Armageddon (January 15-24, 2008)

--Miss Elainious 22:05, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

As Big Bash II ripped through the city of Malton crushing everything in its path hardy group of survivors dared to stand in its way, taking a stand against the menacing onslaught. Survivors filed into into Giddings mall and The Morish building (NT) to say enough! Anaconda joined these brave souls and laughed in the face of death, defying the odds as they stood shoulder-to-shoulder with their friends and allies. Anaconda did not rest until they reached their goals of holding the NT and the mall and of avenging the fallen by gaining a total of 5000 XP gain at the expense of the attacking horde. The streets of Pitneybank ran red as Anaconda met its goal in 9 short days. It was a tremendous first Command for Avatorous as well as a fitting swansong for him and his LT Couponballer who were leaving Anaconda for Team Excalibur. Anaconda helped stop the unstoppable Big Bash II, truly an amazing feat.

Post Operational Interview:

The camera shot shakily reveals a large boarded up mall strewn with random debris. The streets are covered in a grisly collage of red and white snow, with the occasional corpse breaking up the landscape. Several survivors patrol the streets in order to destroy, or at least deter any renegade zombies still in the suburb of Pitneybank. The camera shot rests on a young man with a microphone amidst the carnage. His cheeks are flushed with the chill and excitement.

Fenril Highwind: "Greetings, survivors. This is Engagement Squaddie and TFN journalist, Fenril Highwind reporting live on the status of Team Anaconda outside of Giddings Mall. Our primary objectives were to prevent the Big Bash, and any other zombies in the area from taking over the Giddings Mall, as well as the local Morrish Building for its necrotech purposes. As a measure of how well we could contribute to the survivor cause, our goal was to attain 5,000 XP earned exclusively through zed deading. This mission, dubbed Operation Armageddon by temporary acting Anaconda Commander, Avatourous, achieved it's goal in just 9 short but bloody days and both Giddings Mall and the Morrish Building remained safe and relatively unmolested by the zombie hordes."

The journalist steps forward to interview a 3 member Anaconda patrol team. The camera shot follows him.

Fenril Highwind: "I can see a few of my fellow Anacondas approaching. They must be on patrol duty." He steps towards them and calls, "Campaign Warrior, Zeratul, could you say of few words to our survivors at home about Operation Armegeddon?"

CW Zeratul: A broad smile of recognition spreads across the soldier's face and he says, "Fenril Highwind, you're a TFN journalist now, eh, Congratulations!," he cheerfully slaps the young man on the back with force and Fenril struggles to keep from loosing his balance at the big man's enthusiastic greeting. "I always knew you were going places. Of course you weren't getting very far the last time I saw you in the tavern." Zeratul glances over at his comrades, Terqetz1 and Anne Tardew and gives them a wink. He wraps an arm around the journalist's neck and pulls him closer, tousling his hair. "The last time I saw this guy he was spilling his drink all over Miss Elaineous! How'd that work out for you, buddy?" he chuckles and releases Fenril. The journalist blushes and smoothes his hair but looks the large man in the eye and quips, "Not as well as you'd think, Sir." The camera shot moves from this jovial reunion to the tall, dark eyed beauty in the trio. Anne Tardew smiles and twiddles her fingers in a wave while mouthing the words, "Hi Mom" to the camera. The journalist notices the cameraman's distraction.

Fenril: "Bootcamper, focus on the interview, man!" He reaches over and manually moves the camcorder back towards him and Zeratul.

Zeratul looks into the camera and flashes a dazzling smile. The camera loves him and clearly Zeratul feels the same way about it: "Operation Armageddon has been a great success. Combat reports show that very few casualties were sustained and most of them were due to PK'ers getting a little too up close and personal. Even so, zombie activity in the area was heavy but we had the benefit of superior tactical plans, mobility and intelligence."

Fenril: Nods and says,"Thank you, Sir, anything to add?"

Zeratul: Adopting a thick Irish brogue he says,"O Lord, be between us and harm and protect us from the harm o' the world."

Teretz1: "And the undead."

Fenril turns to face the imposing, young who just added to Zeratul's words.

Fenril Highwind: "We're now talking to my fellow Engagement Squaddie, Teretz1. As a respected military historian, can you offer any analysis of Operation Armegeddon for our viewers?"

Terketz1: "Well I'd have to say that this battle was somewhat reminiscent of the battle of the bulge in WWII. After largely failing to resist the allied assault, Hitler made a last ditch effort to hold an area near the Rhine by launching a general assault that failed miserably. I must admit that when I saw only a dozen zombies trying to hold Giddings, I couldn't help but make the mental comparison." The soldier looks from the camera to the journalist and back again.

Fenril Highwind: (sighs) and says, "Thank you Terketz1. Deployment Soldier, Anne Tardew, I understand you killed 8 zombies yourself during Operation Armageddon, any thoughts on mission?" He leans the microphone towards her.

Anne Tardew: "I'd have to say that Operation Armageddon would not have been so successful in terms of limited casualties and rapid achievement of our objective without the support of the Fortress'Team Battlehawk and our many valued allies (where can i find a complete list of participating allies?). We were very fortunate to have them join us, really solid folks, we're grateful for their help."

Fenril Highwind: "And what now?"

Anne Tardew: "Well, Fenril, I'm looking forward to finishing this patrol and taking a few days to restock and wash the dead zeds off. Maybe stop by the tavern for a few drinks and a game of cards. Oh, look, Tommy's back! I'm sure you'll want to interview him, Fenril. I'll let you go.

"Fenril looks behind him and eagerly rushes towards the Anaconda Commander and Fortress Legend, Tommy Crowbar. He stops abruptly when the microphone he's holding is pulled from his hand and drops to the ground as it is still clearly attached to the camcorder. He fumbles for the microphone and after securing it firmly in his hand pulls the cameraman around to face the approaching commander then gives him a shove.

Fenril Highwind: He rushes towards the Anaconda Commander and Fortress Legend. "And now for the highlight of our report, a face to face interview with Commander Tommy Crowbar and Lieutenant Miss Elaineous. Greetings, Commander!" Fenril clumsily salutes the commander with the microphone still in hand crashing it loudly into his forehead.

Commander Tommy Crowbar: He rolls his eyes and exhales. "Some things never change, eh Highwind? What questions have you prepared for me?"

Fenril Highwind: Looks around the street in the direction the commander came from. "Where is Lieutenant Elainious? She was supposed to come too!"

Tommy Crowbar: "I tried to get her to come, but she refused to leave the mall. Every time we pass by a mall, she goes into some shopping trance for about 2 days before she finally snaps out of it. Usually carrying enough ammo to supply half of Malton."

Fenril Highwind: "Can't you just order her to leave the mall and come with you?"

Tommy Crowbar: "Highwind, if you can convince that woman to leave the mall before she's good and ready, or anything else she doesn’t want to do, I will personally tell Jensonson himself to demote me and make you the new commander of Team Anaconda."

The journalist's eyes become glassy. His thoughts drift into a grandiose fantasy of himself confidently leading Team Anaconda into battle with a crowbar in hand yelling, "First person to die gets a crowbar to the back of the head!"

Tommy Crowbar: "Highwind! Focus on the task at hand or I'll.."

Fenril Highwind: He snaps out of his fantasy. The sound of the cameraman chucking softly to himself can be heard in the background. "Sssir, yes sir! Commander, would you please comment on the success of our operation?"

Tommy Crowbar: "I would love to. First things first, this operation would not have been possible without the leadership and initiative of 'Conda substitute commander, and friend Avatorous. He willingly stepped up to command the team while Lt. Miss Elainious and myself were away on vaca....I mean, working diligently on our ABA's. This was also the final Anaconda mission for Campaign Warrior, Couponballer. He's been promoted to Lieutenant and will be transferred to Team Excalibur under Commander Avatourous. Also, several promotions were earned. Traq was promoted to Conflict Trooper and can now start working on his ABA's, and Mescali, terketz1, and you were promoted to Engagement Squaddie. I hope you don't make me regret that last promotion, Fenril."

Fenril Highwind: "Sir, no Sir!" He turns to look at the camera and says, "Well this has been TFN coming to you from Giddings Mall to bring you the Operation Armageddon report and the big man with the big crowbar himself. This is Fenril Highwind, reminding you to..." He pauses for dramatic effect. "Be bold and stay out of the cold!"

Tommy Crowbar: "Our motto is 'Stay vigilant.'"

Fenril Highwind: "Mine sounds more catchy though."

Annoyed, the commander pulls out his trademark crowbar and eyes Fenril menacingly.

Fenril Highwind: "I meant stay vigilant! STAY VIGILANT!" Tommy swings the crowbar at the journalist. "No Tommy! Stop! AHHHHHHH!" Fenril drops the microphone and runs down the street, the camcorder is turned off.

Operation Lifeguard, AKA Eastonwood Stinks

--Dedun 02:51, 2 August 2007 (BST)

Eastonwood, what a hole, the place wasn't even fit to sleep in, in fact pretty much every Conda that attempted it woke up with a craving for brains. We may have stayed in Darvall Heights but we went knocking in Eastonwood to meet up with 4 well organized zombie groups the Eastonwood Ferals, Unknown Armies, /b/, and House of Wax. Add spillover PKers from Caiger and surviving this op was like kind of like running the gauntlet. If not for some help, both given to and received, from the MPD and ICH I don't know if any of us would have survived.

  • Total deaths for members were at 21. A high figure due to Pkers and a high concentration of zeds in the area.
  • Total kill count was at 58. Not bad considering the unfavourable conditions.

First let me tell you about Sgt Milton's bad week. Pooll Crescent was full of zombies as EF had placed some of their top men(or zombies) inside along with the merc's UA. Sgt Milton leads UA and was silly enough to sleep in the same spot every night of the op. Teams of Conda, in pairs and solo, made trips to try and root out these undead and the bullets flew. Sgt Milton's head was claimed for 3 separate Assassin ABA's as well as being headshot 3 other times within just a week. Multiple members of EF's 10k Society also bit the dust on multiple occasions. Other highlights were lots of great teamwork with real time action between members including:

  • a Twin Dragon ABA.
  • Clearing and cading of multiple buildings in Eastonwood
  • Raids against the Eastonwood Ferals base at Pooll Crescent PD.

In the end we held the Darvall line, made some allies, and killed zombies. In this reporters opinion, Eastonwood is a hole, and the EF can keep it, and the smell inside Pooll PD as bonus.

Operation New Stop Gap, The return to East Becktown.

Some may have thought operation Stop Gap would have put a negative effect onto Team Anaconda... Their first failed mission... ever. But this was not to be.

After a short rest and another joint operation, Team Anaconda returned to East Becktown. This time, they were more prepared and out for blood. The mission started under the lead of Danny Lee like most missions.

The team was split into two. Group 1 would focus on the center of the suburb, aiming to secure buildings and reducing zombie activity by any means at their disposal. It consisted of: Danny Lee, Daniel181, Guard33x, Matt Akist, Michmich and Tommy Crowbar.

Group 2 was to Secure lower part of the suburb, especially the Loney Row Police Dept, the only one in the whole suburb. The PD was essential for easy ammo. The team was made up of: necrotic hunter, blair wells, Perrinthewolf, Fartingmonk, Fallout10mm, Sirkilla and Berserkas.

The team got off to a good start. Securing buildings as early as possible. After a week of hard work, things seemed to be looking good. Buildings were less frequently attacked and zombies were dropping like flies. Near the end of the mission, Anaconda lost two of its members to fill the roster of the newly announced team Dark Watch. However this did not effect the 'condas, and completed their mission.

The final statistics for the mission were:

Kills: 96 buildings barricaded: 15 revives: 5 deaths: 3

Operation Stop Gap

In the most recent Anaconda operation Stop Gap. Team Anaconda made history in a few ways.

The team was ordered to move to East Becktown to restore suitable conditions to the suburb. This is usually an easy job for the team but this time things were different. Commander Danny Lee, the leader of team Anaconda was absent during the mission due to his attempt to gain an Achievement Based Award. Secondly the teams Leuitenant Berserkas has been inactive lately, and was deemed inappropriate to lead the mission.

So, for the first time in the Fortress's history, a Tactical officer was elected. Danny Lee spent lots of time trying to decide who this person would be. After a long time, Necrotic Hunter was elected. He was to lead the mission by the plan he developed.

The mission started off badly. Many of the Anaconda's were ill-equipped for a mission and some moved in too early. Unfortunately some Anacondas died early on, causing the surviving teammates to use AP reviving their friends. Due to this, one of the three HQs fell and more people lost their lives. Commander Danny Lee tried to intervene and make the operation a success, but without the leader present in the area, not much could be done.

After nearly six days of failure, Danny Lee cancelled the mission. He had this to say.

"Gentlemen, we are going to abort operation Stop Gap. This operation was started without detailed Intel and planning.
I thought the new Tactical Officer system would let me rest a little and went to do some ABAs. I should never have let my guard down. I should still have planned Stop Gap further. I was careless. I thought we were invincible. It is entirely my fault.
I let you die in East Becktown.
This is Anaconda's first failed mission, and I will be marked as the first commander to do so, but your lives are more important than my reputation. We'll be pulling of East Becktown."

And so team Anaconda's first failed mission has finally come. But the Conda's do not weep, as they can only get better from here.

In the latest Anaconda operation, Northern Front, The team ventured into Stanbury Village, and started to get to work. Danny Lee, the team leader, had been requested by the MEMS to undertake this mission. Later, Team Cold Cell also joined in the assault. Anaconda’s tally was a total of 42 buildings barricaded, 43 zeds killed, and 3 survivors revived, all with no casualties to the forces.

Jensonson, the Head of the Fortress commented,

“43 zeds down? With no Fortress casualties. That's tremendous! Agression and Vigilance.
And 42 buildings caded keeps other civilians safe for a while longer in a dangerous territory.
Well done to everybody and especially Blair Wells for his outstanding work."

Blair Wells, the new recruit, had the highest score, having killed 11 zombies and barricaded 4 buildings.

As the Fortress heard the news that the Battle of Blackmore had just begun, they acted promptly. Team Anaconda, led by Danny Lee, moved in to help.

Instead of actually entering Ridleybank to help Blackmore, Danny Lee moved the team to a suburb near Ridleybank to stay out of danger. Anaconda barricaded buildings, revived survivors, and killed zombies outside and inside Blackmore.

The final total was 38 zeds killed with only 14 deaths, which is a good ratio if you consider that with more than 200 zombies outside Blackmore, team members were getting attacked while they shot zombies. The Head of the Fortress, Jensonson congratulated the tired troops as they returned home.

"Excellent work Team Anaconda. Pity you were forced to pull out by the return of (reportedly 500) RRF zombies but your work is extremely valuable.
8 members took part in Operation Saber and 14 deaths, but when you consider that you were defending the most influential building in Malton, then that figure is still impressive.
38 kills and plenty of cade/FAK/revive work proves what a strong team we have with Anaconda."

Matt akist, a new member, had the most zombies killed in the operation.

Operation Malton Vice Part 2

Operation Malton Vice part 2 was announced finished by team Anaconda’s new commander, danny lee. Team Anaconda hopped about suburb-to-suburb, clearing zombies and barricading fallen buildings.

“I feel that we done enough work on Operation Malton Vice Part 2, and think we should go back home to rest.” danny lee said as he announced the operation’s closure.

Team Anaconda spanned Tollyton, Crowbank, Vinetown, and Penny Heights, aiding countless survivors recovery after the Big Bash.

The recent operation Malton Vice has been a complete success, returning Shackleville, Shore Hills, Brooksville, and Galbraith Hills to a relatively peaceful state. Members of Team Anaconda who were responsible, moved in an island-hopping manner, barricading every building in sight. The casualty rates were low, and all members now in a tired but healthy state. Group leader and temporary team commander Jensonson issued the statement closing down Malton Vice.

"Our work in Shackleville and to its west has resulted in Brooksville, Shore Hills and Galbraith Hills returning to normality. There is no need to continue on our tour."

Shackleville and surrounding suburbs were devastated by a Zombie horde excursion, but now it seems that order has been restored in these suburbs. The Fortress played a big part in its restoration. We salute you!

Operation: Snakes In A Fort

Date: FEB 19 2009 – MAR 08 2009: Written by guest Anaconda TFN reporter: ieatflesh01

After our little vacation, it was time that Anaconda got back to work! We received word that our allies in the southeast were working hard to try to retake Fort Perryn, and requested our help. With little to no fanfare, we all headed down to help out. Upon arrival, our first priority was to establish a safehouse. This was done by RTS. Involved in the establishment were: Samuel L Jackson, Coup, Fleshy, Paul, Tiago, and Lucy. Jason Valer stopped by, but it was just to get an autograph from the famous Anacondas.

With our safehouse established, it was time for the real work to begin. Our established goal was to revive 100 people during this op. Corpus started us out with the 1st revive on Feb 20 2009. This was shaping up to be a very productive operation.

After we had taken the safehouse, the zed presence there noticed. From that point on, it was a battle to keep our cades at EHB. But, the Condas are ever vigilant and our cades remained in place. As the operation wore on, it was plain to see that the zeds were not going to go quietly into the night. They were going to fight us with everything they had. This in turn made the whole thing that much more fun.

We conducted another RTS. We took 2 buildings, killed 2 zeds, and caded both buildings to VSB. A successful RT to be sure. Involved were the following: Lucy, Corpus, Paul, Coup, and Fleshy (in spirit). During the op, Fleshy and Lucy decided to try and get the Twin Dragon ABA. This was accomplished in short order. It wasn’t 10 minutes before the ABA was completed. Congratulations to both!

More good news came to the Anacondas in the form of a new recruit. We found out that Beatlepuss was to be in the newest member of the team. We all welcomed him appropriately and eagerly awaited his arrival.

After all of the work that we had done to keep the zeds outside of the fort busy, it had paid off. News came that the Malton Rangers had assisted MUM in the successful reclamation of the fort. MUM asked the Anacondas to help in the retaking of the buildings to the south of the Fort. With that in mind, CO Lucy decided it was time for another RTS. We eagerly awaited the chance to kill more zeds and take more buildings from them.

The RT was as always very successful. Banton Cinema was retaken. Corpus dropped the genny, Lucy fueled and repaired the building (50AP to repair), Corpus caded to VHB and killed the genny. Beats, eager to join in the fun, killed 2 zeds inside Anne General Hospital, but was unable to finish the 3rd. A most excellent RTS. After the RTS was over, Spacepirat92 and Fleshy went to Anne General. They finished the zed, dumped the body, and caded the hospital to EHB.

With all of the work that the Anacondas did, in the end it was to no avail. The fort, though retaken, once again fell to the zombie hoards. However, by March 6th, we had updated Pennville from RED to GREEN. Though we did not make our 100 revive goal, we did revive 44 people. That equals 440APs worth of revives. Enough to keep a single survivor asleep for nearly 9 days straight. Once again, the Anacondas had made a difference in the burb. CO Lucy teased us with the name of our next op. Operation: Friday The 13th.

With the operation winding down, we all took turns heading to Blesley Mall to restock, and returning back to the safehouse. CO Lucy teased us even more with further information on the next op. It seemed that Operation: Friday The 13th was to be a competitive op. We could not wait for the next operation to begin.

We received our marching orders from the CO on March 29. We were to head up to Shackleville and restock for the next operation. The excitement was almost tangible, with Doctorgun making this statement, “Oh I love being a Conda. Restocking and moving to safehouse”.

Operation: Leisure Rules!

Date: FEB 01 2009 - FEB 19 2009: Written by guest Anaconda TFN reporter: ieatflesh01 on March 6th 2009

As Anaconda were recovering from all the effort that we put forth in Operation: Red Mist, other events were taking place that would change the face of the Anaconda leadership. Sadly, Commander Charlie Mon stepped down. Acting CO Lucy Daniels decided that the team needed a vacation. She told us to wrap up what we were doing, stock up and be prepared to move out.

Lucy mapped out a nice little trip around Southeast Malton. This was supposed to be a leisurely vacation, one that would let us get a little R and R. But the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.

We headed to Osmondville first, to “Revive, repair, cade, kill, heal, and restock as appropriate”. We were given free rein to use our AP as we saw fit. It was invigorating not to have to watch what we did, but still as our training was deeply engrained, few of us, if any, allowed ourselves to go crazy.

As always, we secured our safehouse and got straight to work. As we were fighting for our lives with the zeds (what a vacation), another battle was raging in RL. The Steelers VS the Cardinals for the title of SuperBowl Champion. Much to the sorrow of the Cardinals fans, the Steelers took the Championship .

Sometimes when on vacation, we forget ourselves. Such was the case with poor Mr. Tiago Ferriera. He went to a rave party at a cemetery (not inviting any of his team mates either), and ended up sticking his needle into some random zed that he thought was a girl, but ended up being “a dude named Mike”. That’ll teach you to go to parties without backup Tiago.

After finishing up in Osmondville, we headed to Pennville to pick up some booze with the aim to possibly drink it in Fort Perryn. We started out securing the Druce Row School, and then began to spread out to the surrounding buildings and rebuild. We once again had our work cut out for us as there ended up being 17 zeds inside Voizey Police Department. During the op, once again Coup fell to a zombie (this was turning into a habit). We once again revived him and he went back to work, a little worse for wear, but determined. The Condas became bogged down in an ever-changing battle with the zeds of Pennville. They were a very determined lot, killing people, ruining buildings, but never had they met a more determined bunch of survivors than Anaconda. We were reviving, repairing, and recading as fast as we possibly could. The work was hard, the hours long, but we were making progress.

As we were out and about fixing and cading, our safehouse fell. Among the dead were D3c0y, Doctorgun, Aeris Windwalker, and Corpus Currit. The rest of the Anacondas rallied to their aid, and they were all alive and well within a few hours. If the zeds had thought they would break our resolve with that action, they had totally miscalculated. We once again busted butt, got the safe house and surrounding areas back up and functional. It was at this point that Lucy directed us to head to church, St. Columbanus’s Church to be exact. This was to act as a rest stop on our way over to visit F2 and play some poker with Fortress 2 CO Jason Valer, Jensonson, and Shrimper. It was a trip that all were looking forward to.

We all sat down to eat a wonderful mean in F2. Nazdreg had cooked zombie steaks, brain soup, and fried rat for dinner. As Malton fare goes, it wasn’t half bad. We then got down to the real business at hand. Strip poker. It was not a very good night for the following people, though a lot of people were saying that it was soooooo amazing how Corpus kept “finding” aces. Lucy lost her bandana, jacket, both trainers, and one sock, Fleshy was getting fleshier by the minute and even though he was “finding” those aces, Corpus was lucky to still have his pants left. All-in-all, a good time was had by everyone.

After our fun at F2, we took a walk up to Joachim Mall. It seemed like every time you turned around, there was a break-in there. We continued to fight against the zeds. Killing, cading, healing, reviving, everything that we could do to put the odds in the survivors’ corner. Day after day, we kept the zed hoard of 17+ at bay. By Valentine’s Day, there were 24 zeds outside the NW corner of the mall, and we were put to the test to keep it caded. Suddenly there was another break-in at the mall. Who would show up to help, but the Head himself. Jensonson showed everyone that he still maintains his skills and can do even the lowliest of chores, barricading a mall. It was a very motivating sight to see.

On the 15th of February, Council elected Lucy to become Anaconda’s next Commander. She then passed the word that we needed to start gearing up for the next operation. As the anticipation built for the next operation, we all began to stock up on our favorite implements of destruction/protection.

Finally, CO Lucy announced the completion of our “vacation” and told us the name of our new operation. It was to be called, “Operation: Snakes in a Fort”. We couldn’t wait.
