The Chap Building was finished in the mid-1970s for an ideal office space for employees of the Chap and Company Corporation. It has since been cleared out.

The Joce Building was built in 1984 for animal research, frequently borrowing animals from the nearby City Zoo. Most of the research was in the process of being moved at the time of the outbreak, but a good portion concerning a recent animal disease was found to be missing by early survivors.
