The North West War - F.R.E.E.Z.E.

In response to the propaganda provided in the IWM's account of activities surrounding the war, F.R.E.E.Z.E., and the DEA offer our account of what happened to provide greater perspective. After an intense edit war on the Wiki, all groups involved have resolved to leave the main accounts completely neutral on the Dakerstown suburb page - and instead offer up these pages to tell their stories free from counter edits by the other groups. To the conscientious observer -when trying to sort out which side is providing false information-, please note which side is able to provide evidence to back up their claims, and which does not. This is a recap of events according to F.R.E.E.Z.E.

OLD TIMES IN DAKERSTOWN

We tried to take Dakerstown back in late December/early January. We held strong in the lower SouthWest corner of the suburb for a few weeks, but the complete lack of an established survivor "safe zone", coupled with constant attacks from Death cultists coordinating with zombies drove us away.

We then moved south and set up shop in Roywood, as there were still no established (large and vocal) groups working in the area. We worked tirelessly for a few weeks, and with the help of some other groups who came along (as well as various strike teams and unaffiliated survivors) - we managed to clean things up quite a bit. As a result of our work, many survivors in the area joined our group - and we doubled in size.

The IWM Says 'Hello, We'll kill you...'

We received a threat letter from the Imperial War Machine shortly after we left Dakerstown, we replied quite the opposite of the attitude they took with us in the letter - and attempted to give them good advice for securing the suburb. See the Dakerstown history on our F.R.E.E.Z.E. group page for a copy of the letter they sent us.

We were a bit miffed (as anyone would be) that they would send us such a hostile letter - completely unprovoked - when all we ever tried to do was to make the suburb safe for all survivors. The advice we sent them was for them to be wary of low level characters with little to no XP, as we had encountered some Death Cultists while we were there - which was largely what drove us away (as it was very difficult to be sure if they were a genuine low level character, or a Death Cultist - and we did not care to engage in PKing to sort it out). The IWM took the advice and perverted it, declaring war on all level one characters in Dakerstown (as shown here and here - where they label all level 1 characters "terrorists", without any evidence to justify their claims.)

DEA BECOMES ALLIES

As fate would have it, 2 groups advanced into Dakerstown almost the same day F.R.E.E.Z.E. pulled out - the IWM, and the Dakerstown Elite Army. We aren't sure on the details of how their relationship went down hill, as neither group has been able to provide screen shots or other sufficient evidence to back up their respective PKer claims. However, the DEA approached us and requested an alliance. We obliged, as we are open to all pro-survivor groups, and they had begun work to aid us in securing Roywood. When they began talk of a war with IWM, we worked diligently to pacify them in hopes that all groups could work toward a common goal - making Dakerstown safe for all survivors. We knew the IWM were squirrelly, based off the threat letter they sent us, and from the information they provide the public on their group page - as well as their arbitrary labeling of all survivor groups not IWM, and all level 1 survivors in Dakerstown as "Terrorists". We were willing to let them do their "crazy" little thing in Dakerstown, as long as they stayed in that suburb, and left us alone in Roywood.

IWM OVERSTEPS THEIR BOUNDS

The IWM proceeded to boast their claims that they had killed all the "terrorists" (terrorists being a good mixture of innocent survivors, as well as zombies) and made the suburb safe. We sent scouts into the suburb to scope things out - and what they reported was worse than what we had last seen there. Their senseless murdering of level 1 characters had only exasperated the situation, as every survivor murdered stood up as a zombie in the suburb. Virtually no buildings remained barricaded, and zombies were in possession of all resource buildings.

Then the DEA comes to us with news that the war between the IWM and themselves had resumed, and that they had been attacked and killed while resting in Roywood, and that they were going in to take Dakerstown. We offered barricade support - that we would send members up to help secure a safe zone and offer revives if necessary, but that we were still going to retain our neutrality as a whole in the situation.

It was around this time that the IWM intensified their viscous propaganda campaign, and began editing false information on the Wiki. Examples of such false information is provided here:

False claims about F.R.E.E.Z.E.

False zombie level report on the suburb page

Deleting all critical information on the Roywood page

IWM's bogus claim that Dick the Tech engaged in pking a group that doesn't even exist

Proof that the Phoniex Cooperation only exists in the IWM's mind

A lie about a resurrection of a Club Mcgee terrorist group, and the execution of Jumpinjackflash

The IWM calls a cease fire with F.R.E.E.Z.E. as peace talks are under way. Our group respects the cease fire and stops hunting them. They then proceed to PK one of our members and then brag about it on their "Wanted" page.

The IWM's edit to the Roywood suburb page - where they imposed a "Media Blackout" on the suburb and deleted all information various survivor groups have put up to aid new players in Roywood - was the last straw. We were fine to let them do their thing in Dakerstown, but when they brought it into Roywood, we said "enough".

F.R.E.E.Z.E. MOVES TO SECURE DAKERSTOWN

As of 03/14/06, a strike team consisting of F.R.E.E.Z.E. members have begun moving into Dakerstown to take it out of the hands of the zombies that currently reign supreme there. The IWM has declared war with us (at least I am assuming it is a declaration of war - it's a little vague at the moment), but until we are attacked by them officially, we will resume work to secure the suburb. We hope for it to be a safe haven for the weary traveler in the coming weeks and months. We certainly realize that we have our work cut out for us - as the zombies have near complete control of the suburb at the moment - and do welcome any and all help other groups, strike teams, and unaffiliated survivors may wish to lend to secure Dakerstown for the good of all mankind.

Unfortunately it seems our attempts at preserving some semblance of order in Dakerstown have been misinterpreted, blood has been split, and F.R.E.E.Z.E. now has no choice but to go to war. The official document can be seen on the Declarations page. Kripcat 08:09, 16 March 2006 (GMT)

The war has tapered down. All sides have called cease-fire.
