Bob Hammero vs God

God repeatedly claimed that I was Scinfaxi (see here and here and here and here). This is libel and defamation of character, given the poor reputation and vandal record that Scinfaxi has on this wiki. I will accept Sonny or Cyberbob as arbitrators. –Bob Hammero ModB'cratTA 06:30, 14 August 2006 (BST)

Sure, why not. I'll arbitrate, if God will accept me. Cyberbob  Talk  06:31, 14 August 2006 (BST)

I'd be prepared to arbitrate, if God rejects Cyberbob240.--The General T Sys U! P! F! 06:34, 14 August 2006 (BST)

The Lord finds this amusing. Past cases have shown that calling someone a single name or making a single tame acusation, no matter how often is not bad faith in any way. The Lord does however dismiss Cyberbob and Sonny as they were both involved deeply in the ganging up on an innocent user for no reason. Furthermore, Bob Hammero acts like Scinfaxi and the Lord God suspects they are one and the same. -- (GOD) Pray 06:40, 14 August 2006 (BST)

Ganging up? We weren't ganging up on you, God. Just that drama queen Amazing, who surely will go to hell. Cyberbob  Talk  06:45, 14 August 2006 (BST)
Once again defaming me, God. –Bob Hammero ModB'cratTA 06:46, 14 August 2006 (BST)
The Lord God points out that you spammed his talk page, not Amazing's. The Lord God does however give you points for a 'nice try'. -- (GOD) Pray 06:47, 14 August 2006 (BST)
So, I was writing on your talk page, trying to play along with your "God" thing. So what? You're not Amazing, so what's your point? –Bob Hammero ModB'cratTA 06:57, 14 August 2006 (BST)

The Lord God also wishes to state that Bob Hammero has been after him since the Lord first got here. Hammero asked God to impersonate someone. When the Lord impersonated Hammero, Hammero immediately ran to Vandal Banning. The Warning issued was later retracted. Hammero has been trying to set traps for the Lord ever since, for reasons known only to Mr. Hammero himself. The Lord will judge Hammero's accepted moderators but will not hand-pick his own. -- (GOD) Pray 06:43, 14 August 2006 (BST)

I accept Cyberbob and Sonny. If you want someone else, suggest them. –Bob Hammero ModB'cratTA 06:45, 14 August 2006 (BST)
Your choices are not accepted. It's your case, not the Lord's so the burden is on your shoulders, mortal. -- (GOD) Pray 06:47, 14 August 2006 (BST)

In order to expidite this case, the Lord will try to work toward resolution instead of malice as Hammero has done.

Of all the choices, the Lord would prefer God to moderate. -- (The Lord God) Pray 06:53, 14 August 2006 (BST)

Uh huh. Right. And it's real malicious for me to defend myself. I accept Darth Sensitive. –Bob Hammero ModB'cratTA 06:58, 14 August 2006 (BST)
Thou art defending thyself as a farmer with a shotgun defends himself against a field mouse. -- (The Lord God) Pray 07:00, 14 August 2006 (BST)
So God is a victim now? Who was saying that the other person was Scinfaxi, now? –Bob Hammero ModB'cratTA 07:03, 14 August 2006 (BST)
Bobfaxi is simply incapable of doing anything but firing off a shotgun blast, it seems. The Lord God suspects this is somehow tied to the hagnat ruling. Perhaps the Lord God has been wrong for once and it is not Bobfaxi, but Bobmazing he is dealing with. The meaningless arbitration cases are certainly similar. -- (The Lord God) Pray 07:07, 14 August 2006 (BST)
I cite this as yet another example of God defaming me as Scinfaxi, and now as Amazing as well. Repeated comparisons to repeated wiki vandals. Given the amount of time and effort I have invested in this wiki, reflected in the community electing me as a moderator, I find God's behavior to be clearly insulting and deliberately provocative. –Bob Hammero ModB'cratTA 07:30, 14 August 2006 (BST)
As Bob Hammero has an official warning for vandalism, the Lord God cannot be considered wrong in calling him a vandal. A look at the unwarrented spamming of the Lord's talk page exposes Bob Hammero for who he is. This mortal is seeking drama and causing much aggrivation. This is why I suspect him to be Scinfaxi, Amazing, or both. -- (The Lord God) Pray 07:36, 14 August 2006 (BST)
It should be noted that GOD had not any contact in this wiki with Amazing or Scinfaxi on wich base his accusations. Unless he himself had other accounts... --Matthew Fahrenheit YRC | T | W! 07:39, 14 August 2006 (BST)
The Lord reported Scinfaxi's "Operation White Storm" for deletion and read he and jjames' replies. Also, in the flurry of references to "Amazing", God asked around as well as reading up on the history of this site. The Lord God forgives your errors. -- (The Lord God) Pray 07:41, 14 August 2006 (BST)
And yet again. God, my warning is quite old, and is completely unrelated, and I was not "spamming" your page — and even if I was, that violates no policy. –Bob Hammero ModB'cratTA 07:44, 14 August 2006 (BST)
Asked around? where? And I don't need a vandal forgiveness, because according to your logic and vandal record, I may call you like that. You're only showing yourself as the liar you are, and as a boring person that doesn't know when to stop playing his character as well. Your username just shows us how high you think of yourself; your actions how low you really are. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRC | T | W! 07:47, 14 August 2006 (BST)
The Lord God believes that the vandal cases against him have been accurately dismissed, and awaits further recognition of this. Bless you my son, and may you keep well. -- (The Lord God) Pray 07:52, 14 August 2006 (BST)
The Lord is kind, just, and forgiving. He is willing to walk away from this growing misguided melee if the mortal known as Hammero is. Let it not be said that the Lord God has ever furthered any 'drama', but rather that he attempts to create peace. You cannot deny that perhaps this was not the most well-thought course of action, my son. In the end no man shall be turned away from the love of God. What say ye? -- (The Lord God) Pray 07:50, 14 August 2006 (BST)
I say no. I started this case, and I maintain it. You have called me Scinfaxi (and now Amazing) over and over again. –Bob Hammero ModB'cratTA 08:01, 14 August 2006 (BST)
I'm sorry, but your warnings have as many chances to be dismissed as Amazing's year's long ban. And I'm not your son, next time you call me like that I will take you to Arbitration myself for defamation. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRC | T | W! 07:56, 14 August 2006 (BST)
Perhaps you have not read the vandal banning page recently, my son. The warnings have been contested and are not very likely to stay in place. The Lord God must be leaving now as it is almost 9am and he really needs to get some things done today. Miracles don't just happen on their own you know! The Lord shall return with a few less warnings to his name. For now, good day. -- (The Lord God) Pray 07:59, 14 August 2006 (BST)
How little and selfish creatures are permitted to live in this world. You called me like that again... and I'll show you that I'm the forgiving one. I wonder if the Lord G... excuse me, the user that likes to call himself "the Lord God" has himself a beard. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRC | T | W! 08:06, 14 August 2006 (BST)

Arbitration

Okay, I'll do it, and I am officially requesting that all who are not directly involved with this case post anything that they feel must be brought to light on my talk page. Since this isn't as straightforward as many Arb cases are, I will be asking not only for evidence, but general grievances from each party. Each will post his own problems in his own sections, don't directly respond to each other, and use diff links for specific instances. --Darth Sensitive Talk W! 08:03, 14 August 2006 (BST)

Evidence/Grievances from Bob Hammero

God has said over and over again, unapologetically and with with no sign that he intends to stop, that I am Scinfaxi (and later, Amazing). As evidence of this, I present the repeated defamation by calling me Scinfaxi/Amazing. Amazing was the cause of an enormous amount of wiki drama, and is currently under his one year ban. Scinfaxi has also been the cause of a large amount of wiki drama, including the ongoing Operation White Storm controversy, and has a warning and two bans on his vandal record.

I, on the other hand, have contributed substantially to the wiki (while the God user has not), as evidenced by the community electing me as moderator. Repeatedly insisting that I am Scinfaxi or Amazing is defamatory and libelous.

Furthermore, God clearly has no intention of following due process or behaving amicably. He has claimed that he made a "single tame accusation," when obviously he has made repeated extreme accusations; he has claimed that I have been after him since he first got here as well as trying to set traps for him when I have done no such thing; he has claimed that I spammed his talk page, and initially denied all the arbitrators I chose; he has claimed that I am malicious, and asked to serve as his own arbitrator; he has claimed that I am like a farmer firing at him (a mouse) with a shotgun; he has attempted to dissuade me from pursing justice; he has claimed that his vandalism charges have been dropped when they haven't been; he has wiped all the comments from his talk page that make him look bad.

In light of the evidence, I think it's quite clear that God has nothing but the worst intentions and does not intend to stop defaming me by claiming that I am two of the most disruptive users on the wiki. –Bob Hammero ModB'cratTA 08:35, 14 August 2006 (BST)

Evidence/Grievances from God

The Lord God's evidence is that there is no guideline, spritiual or otherwise, that disallows any user from calling another user by a third user's name. Furthermore a user's username, used by that user or another user whose username is used by said user has been used in reference to another user without users using arbitration. One need only look at eerily similar hurtful misuses of the arbitration page to see that Hammero is close enough in behavior to Scinfaxi, Jjames, and Amazing that making the connection is not far-fetched enough to be considered wholly off-base. The Lord God makes no apologies for calling Hammero Bobfaxi and Bobmazing, as Hammero made no apologies for doing the exact same thing to others. Hammero was spared an arbitration case for his Zodmazing template, yet he is too small to do anything other than misuse the system for his own childish gain. If that does not sound like Scimazing then nothing does. The Lord decrees that if one user cannot call another user by another name, it should be passed through policy discussion in some sort of anti-defamation rule. -- (The Lord God) Pray 17:51, 14 August 2006 (BST)

For further evidence that this may be a retaliatory action based on reporting Operation White Storm for deletion, though Bob Hammero covered his bases by voting for its deletion, he has been involved since the beginning. -- (The Lord God) Pray 19:09, 14 August 2006 (BST)

Arbitrator Statement

Thank you both. You are now asked to specifically counter each other's statements without directly addressing the other.

In addition, you are both required to answer the question "Can I behave civily to the opposite user on community pages and our talk pages?" Please support your answer with why you believe it to be true. --Darth Sensitive Talk W! 18:04, 14 August 2006 (BST)

Counter by Bob Hammero

The fact that there is no guideline against defaming another user is irrelevant. There is no guideline against posting the same message to a large number of group pages either, and yet it is correctly identified as vandalism. There is no policy against someone writing false suburb reports, and yet it is also disallowed. There is no policy against me using an enormous font in all of my comments, and yet surely there would be justifiable complaints if I did so. If I claimed that God was Amazing, surely he would take offense. The fact that there is no policy covering defamation of character on the wiki does not make it acceptable, and there is ample precedent for ruling against disruptive behavior that is not covered by a specific policy.

The accusation that I am "eerily similar" to Scinfaxi, Jjames, and Amazing from my arbitration cases is completely senseless. This is the first arbitration case I have started. How can I possibly be so similar to them? Even in God's rebuttal and evidence, he continues to defame and insult me, when I still have done nothing to him.

The accusation that this case exists as evidence that I intended to create drama is ludicrous, as is his baseless statement that the case is meant to "misuse the system." His evidence — Jjames' stalled case — just supports my view, since Jjames' case is stalled because Karlsbad is out of town, which God would know if he had read the case carefully. More importantly, God's view that there is no point to the case does not excuse his behavior in the slightest.

God's view that I was "spamming" his talk page in "bad faith," and that I should be taken to vandal banning for it, is also completely baseless. Not only was I not spamming God's talk page, but writing on another user's talk page is not vandalism, as there is more than enough precedent to show. Furthermore, I was not even talking about God, but Amazing! Just ask the other participants in the conversation — who are trusted and well-known wiki users — and they will corroborate my statements. God's statement that I "removed legal text from another user's page" is incomprehensible, since I did no such thing.

God is attempting to distract Darth Sensitive and me from the main issue at hand by bringing up irrelevant and baseless things. The fact is that God has engaged in — and continues to engage in, as evidenced by his statements here — libel and defamation. I have done no wrong to God, but God has unceasingly wronged me.

As a conclusion, in answer to Darth's question over whether or not I can behave civilly to God, I absolutely can. I believe it to be true because until the time at which God began defaming me, I had nothing against him. In fact, if you review the edit history on his talk page, I never attacked him there. I have never attacked him here either, or anywhere on the wiki. I am not interested in attacking other users for no reason, and God is no exception. But I will not stand by and let God attack me. –Bob Hammero ModB'cratTA 18:51, 14 August 2006 (BST)

Addendum: I urge Darth Sensitive to review the edit history for this page, and take special note of how God has repeatedly altered his comments, sometimes after I have responded to them, while making no note of doing so. A few examples of this highly questionable practice by God. I am sorry to have to point this out, but if my opponent cannot play fair even here, I feel I have no choice, lest it appear that I have neglected to answer some of his claims. If Darth wishes me to address all of the edits God has made after the fact, I can do so if necessary, but otherwise I will not. I urge Darth once again to review the editing history and draw his own conclusions. –Bob Hammero ModB'cratTA 19:44, 14 August 2006 (BST)

Counter by God

The Lord God notes that there is no rule in spirit or otherwise that in any way disallows calling a user by another name. This entire 'case' is based on things said in one relatively small span of messages and the filing of this case itself is proof that the messages were started with the intent of creating drama and misusing the system. The fact that jjames' case which is almost exactly the same has stalled shows that calling someone else a name or three is not really against any guidelines. Much less something that needs the wiki equivilent of calling 911. Had this been a long ongoing thing, there might be a case for arbitration. As it stands the Lord God likens this case to one toddler annoying the other, and demanding a million dollar cash settlement when he gets pushed down in the sand. Stupid wiki drama? Yes. Against any guidelines or the spirit of the wiki? No.

Now I do believe a vandal banning case could be made for spamming someone's talk page in bad faith and removing legal text from another's user page, but as we can see there is only one party willing to take up other peoples' time for such a meaningless skirmish. If that is too close to referring to the other participant personally, please feel free to strike it.

The case at hand carries no more weight than calling the reporting user "a buffalo". Said user could them claim "Buffalos poop a lot and smell bad. Libel! Defamation! Vandalbitration!" In this case, said user is simply exploiting the system for some unknown goal. This is clear from the obvious half-tongue-in-cheek nature of the report.

The Lord God points out the stunning admission that the reporting user was using God's user page to talk about someone else wholly unrelated. One can of course conclude that he should not have spammed God's talk page about something unrelated to God. Damning evidence, that.

In closing, the Lord God blesses you all, and that includes those who mysteriously begin spamming, attacking, and filing false reports on him. Possibly in retaliation for a deletion report, deletion voting, and reminding a moderator of the guidelines of this wiki. The Lord God has no problem with conducting himself well with others, and indeed has shown divine restraint here and elsewhere given his tendancy to turn people into salt. As additional evidence of this, the Lord God was asked to impersonate someone by the other party. When he did as asked, the Lord God was reported for vandalism by the reporting party. After the warning was removed due to the circumstances of its request, the Lord God did not so much as contact the reporting party about the instance ever again, much less discuss it. The instance was considered water under the bridge and God was even willing to lend his support to certain policies created by the party that reported him.

The Lord had no problem with the reporting user until he started spamming his talk page relentlessly in bad faith, so needless to say there will be no more issue once he is recomended never to do that again. You will also note that the reporting user attacked the user God by spamming and demanding an answer to a question already addressed multiple times. -- (The Lord God) Pray 18:22, 14 August 2006 (BST)

Bob Hammero also created the Amazod template, which the Lord God remembers voting to delete based on the fact that it was a template created to be used against another user. The Lord God points out that though it is not one of the seven deadly sins, he does not take kindly to such bold hypocrisy. -- (The Lord God) Pray 00:50, 15 August 2006 (BST)

Ruling

Commentary

I rule that you both are behaving childishly. The full actual ruling is to be found at the bottom of this post.

God - you need to stop making comparisons between Bob and Scinfaxi and Amazing. They aren't comparable, and since you overdid it, you have lost your privileges. (Sidenote to Bob [not part of ruling] - your Amazod template makes this a case of Pot v. Kettle) Also, please do not edit your posts on this (or any) page after they have been responded to - instead, reply to yourself.

Bob - You should have stopped your repetitive postings to God's talk page about Amazing. It was clear that he wanted it to stop here. The content hasn't been deleted and has been moved to an archive for drama, as per the llama at the top of the page. --Darth Sensitive Talk W! 18:10, 15 August 2006 (BST)

Actions

To carry on the toddler analogy, you are both bothering each other. Like misbehaving toddlers, you will both be sent to your rooms. Don't speak to/about each other for a week.

After that, you may come out and play in a civilized manner. I want you to behave civily towards each other for at least the three weeks afterwards. No baiting, name calling, insulting (even jokingly), flaming, etc.

I won't force you two to apologize to each other, since that defeats the purpose. However, during the next week, you will each be allowed one post on the opposite party's talk page for a sincere apology. During the next week, you will also (since the root word for arbitration is arbitrary) post three good things about the other on this page in the section below for conflict resolution.

No warnings will be assesed at this time, but may be assesed in a month. If a party believes there is a breach of this ruling, post it below on Vandal Banning. Any questions may be addressed to me at my talk page.

We will meet back here in a month to discuss how things are working. --Darth Sensitive Talk W! 18:10, 15 August 2006 (BST)

Modifications made due to stupid mistakes in precedent. --Darth Sensitive Talk W! 19:40, 15 August 2006 (BST)

Conflict Resolution

Bob Hammero

Nice things about God:

  • His grammar is relatively normal.
  • He appears to understand how to use the wiki.
  • He probably has a very large beard.

Bob Hammero ModB'cratTA 18:54, 15 August 2006 (BST)

Good things about the other user:

  • He posesses the skills needed to use the internet.
  • He does not use CAPSLOCK, which is always appreciated.
  • He probably has a nice head of hair.

As a moderator it is his "duty" to comment on issues. It isn't ABOUT you, but what you stand for. Furthermore it is entirely about a comment that another user said to him, therefore requiring him to at least mention you by name. Please don't try to "gotcha" people through the arbitration page, it doesn't favor your reputation. --Karlsbad 06:20, 20 August 2006 (BST)
His comment is entirely about the Lord, actually. Please don't try to "gotcha" the Lord God by making his minor report sound like a call for a firing squad. Bless you. -- (The Lord God) Pray 06:22, 20 August 2006 (BST)
To any reading this, "I personally find his signature annoying, and his whole faux persona ridiculous and utterly inane," is the line in question. No action is expected, but a transgression unreported is a violation accepted. -- (The Lord God) Pray 06:23, 20 August 2006 (BST)
Thank you for your contribution. I am assured that it will be considered with the depth and veracity in which it deserves. --Karlsbad 06:58, 20 August 2006 (BST)
The Lord God thanks you, as he gave your comments more than they did. -- (The Lord God) Pray 07:01, 20 August 2006 (BST)
By "the depth and voracity in which he deserves", Karlsbad meant not at all. You knew that, right God? Cyberbob  Talk  07:04, 20 August 2006 (BST)
It should be clear from the above statement that the Lord did. In addition, let us stem this verbal garbage off right now and simply wait for the Arbitrator to weigh in (or not) as he chooses. Bless you. -- (The Lord God) Pray 07:05, 20 August 2006 (BST)
This was iffy, but will not be acted upon, as one of the users in question has been permabanned. The "meet back in a month" is canceled as well. --Darth Sensitive Talk W! 21:00, 21 August 2006 (BST)
