Gage vs. DarkStar2374383

His signature is ridiculous. It needs to go.--Gage 09:06, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

As soon as you make something being rediculous a reason for having to go let me know. --DarkStar2374383 Talk | LDY | LOE 09:09, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Gage's Statement

We currently do not have any policy to govern signatures on the wiki. We have one in voting now that will fix that, but even under that policy, this one would be allowed. I have several problems with it.

  1. It is spammy as hell. On my monitor, with my resolution set at 1024x768, it easily takes up 2 lines of text. It could not be any more annoying.
  2. It makes my eyes bleed. It really is ugly as hell.
  3. I cannot read it. While it isn't a hindrance for me, it very well could be for a new wiki user. They probably would not know how to get to this person's page to contact them. In short? It is confusing.

In closing? His signature is a bane upon the wiki. It is not only horrendously ugly, it's incredibly long and misleading. What DarkStar does with his userspace is his buisness, but this signature affects every page he posts on, and is simply unfair to other users. I want it gone.--Gage 09:44, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

DarkStar2374383's Statement

There are no policies on the wiki governing my signature at this time. I link to me wiki Page with my signature. I see no reason Why I should have to change my signature because of another users preferances. --DarkStar2374383 Talk | LDY | LOE 09:47, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

The Ruling

Ahem. While Darkie's signature does have some humour value (quite a bit, really :P), it's simply far too spammy. I'm afraid you're going to have to get rid of the binary.

That goes for things like hexadecimal coding or any code other than standard lettering, by the way. Any attempt I see to get around this ruling will be counted as vandalism - which, I believe, means a weeklong ban for you.

And so they lived happily ever after. The End. Cyberbob  Talk  10:09, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
