Just a general question about this: should the group be proposed to become a historical group then? Or will the page/group stay like that until someone reactivates that group? I'm just trying to figure out the general idea about keeping non-active pages, no offense intended. :) --Soccerfan666 MFD | RCS 17:11, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
Na, that one wouldn't stand a chance of making a historical group. But just because a group page meets the speedydelete criteria, doesn't meant that it has to be deleted. I just check out the group pages and weigh up how much effort went into creating the page, how long they were running, how they interacted with other groups, how many other pages link to them, and if I think there's a chance they're still running around Malton somewhere, or if I just think that the wiki is more interesting with them on it, I vote keep. Historical group status only goes to groups that affect the whole community, there's still a lot of local history out there that doesn't need to be trashed. Of course, then there's plenty more groups (like the others you put up that I didn't give a keep vote for) that don't add anything much to the wiki, they need to go. That's just my idea on it anyway, if you still think these ones I put keep on should go, you can take them to M/D for a vote on the issue... they'll probably go I guess, I just feel it would be a pity -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 21:58, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

I'd respect your crusade a bit more if you were going after things that are used... like... everywhere, and were actually popular. Like, I dunno, this for example. But you seem to love going for the pictures that are hidden away in the back pages, ones that no one sees, and only a few even care about. I have no doubt that there have been, will be and probably currently are some genuinely objectionable copyright rip-offs posted but the fact of the matter is that until someone/anyone who is doing it maliciously is brought forwards you just make yourself look like some sort of fascist who wants to dictate others behaviour. I am pretty sure you are not trying to give that impression but just take a step back and you might not like what you see. Really just leave this crusade alone until someone from the outside actually does take the use of 'borrowed' images seriously. As to those 'guilty of using them... please just cite a link to where you got it and put a note at the bottom of the page saying that you will remove it if the copyright holder asks, and lets face it given the type of material in most of these i think most would be more than happy to get the free advertisement!--Honestmistake 01:05, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Doesn't matter at all. The physical servers reside in the UK, which means it follows those laws. Let's look at the parody, shall we? Whoops! "The Supreme Court of the United States stated that parody "is the use of some elements of a prior author's composition to create a new one that, at least in part, comments on that author's works." That commentary function provides some justification for use of the older work." The Channel 4 News Team doesn't do that, especially when it uses still frames from the movie. No, it doesn't. It's your group, which details your exploits in Malton, which is clearly not in the movie. All of the images do not have the required citations, nor does it actually comment on the movie in an informative way. In effect, you have basically stolen the images, names, and likenesses for your personal use on a commercial website. Clearly not parody. I take the characters and events of the movie and place them in an alternate, fictional world. If you don't find this commenting informative or creative, it's not a proof of any lack of information or creativity on my part. That's arguing for a vacuum. Don't like following a rule of the wiki? Then change it. However, I seriously doubt that Kevan will, considering that the site is hosted in the UK and subject to UK copyright law. --Dr. Frank Sloth Akule News - All The News That's Fit To Print. 02:12, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
  12. Keep I nominate akule for speedy deletions, akule is a small grey fish, and god copywrighted it. Funny, I've always wondered this about you akule: if your actually a lawyer, shouldn't you be, oh, I don't know, doing useful things in regard to the law? Tell you what, go chase an ambulance and maybe you'll make money off of your degree. --General Lee A. Dickhole Malton Rangers 02:10, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
  13. Keep This is a thinly veiled personal attack disguised as copyright flap. Not only is this totally ridiculous and sophmoric, its transparent as well. This is an arbitration matter. Score one for the wiki! --Zod Rhombus 02:27, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
Score one for Zod! Hey Zod, I figured out why you can't find Pumpkin beer- it's SEASONAL! I tried to put myself in a coma, but failed miserably. Next year, I'll stock up. --Ron Burgundy 02:32, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
Hey! I did get some Pumpkin Ale of the Anheuser-Busch variety. Jack's, I think. Oh, can I say Anheuser-Busch here? Maybe A-B used a script close to this on a can in the early 1900's. I'd hate to break copyright laws! --Zod Rhombus 02:44, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
Too bad the UD wiki has clear rules on this matter. --Dr. Frank Sloth Akule News - All The News That's Fit To Print. 02:34, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
How is this a problem unless the owner of the copyright files a greivance against using these images, etc.? Without the rightful owner bringing forth an issue, I don't see how this affects anything, least of all gameplay or the wiki. This is the internet, there are millions of unlicensed images floating out there. --Zod Rhombus 03:33, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
Most of those pages don't have a copyright crusader patrolling the site. We do. SuperMario24 03:38, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
  14. Keep - The fact that this is even up for question is redonkulous. Tovarisch Khrushchev 02:44, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
  15. Keep - So tiring, this wiki lawyer crap.--Jorm 02:56, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
  16. Keep - It's. A. Joke. My god. --Goolina Gore Corps 04:54, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
  17. Keep - We all deleted yours because no-one likes lawyers. We're keeping Ron's because everyone loves a comedian. --Cap'n Silly T/W/P/CAussieflag.JPG 05:39, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
  18. keep because AKULE doesn't like them is reason enough! Oh and while i am at it 'parody' is not protected in british law because as far as i know no one has ever been found guilty of it. almost all of our best loved/watched TV comedies are parodies, our biggest radio show contains numerours parodies... For fucksakes we even had an award winning parody of child abuse (which did get into trouble... but not much!) Why isn't it enshrined in LAW, because we have a sense of humour! Christ even our money isn't actually sanctioned by law just tradition and its the most valued currency in the world...--Honestmistake 10:43, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
I have just spent the dullest hour of my life researching british copyright law and founds numerous ways that virtually every picture used on this site could be exepted from this nonsense! --Honestmistake 18:41, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
  19. Keep - The biggest abuse on M/D ever. This is the Internet you know? --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 17:08, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
  20. Keep Sounds to me like you have some sort of grudge against the classy Mr. Burgundy, I'm so damn tired of this wiki drama bull. Get over yourself.--Lord Wulfgar 17:12, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
  21. Keep - That got really nasty quick. Where did you get a grenade? --Max Grivas JG / M.F.T. 17:39, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
  22. Keep - Not that it really matters. Fuck Dreamworks if they care about such a small infringement, and fuck whomever brought this up. It is obviously brought up out of spite and pettiness. --Ev933n / Talk PPGC 18:15, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
  23. Keep - Akule is a spoiled little troll who thinks mommy and daddy doesn't give him/her/it enough attention. So he/she/it decides to take out their frustration on one of the few UD harman groups I respect? Grow the f*ck up and wait for your testicles to drop you immature POS.--Braggledorth 22:01, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Kept - and yes, I know it is early. Bite me.--Gage 22:12, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

  • Keep - It doesn't take my necromatically enhanced lack of brains to realise calling for the deletion of these images is a waste of time and serves absolutely no purpose. There's no class in being a pedantic little harman, no class at all. Being a pedantic little zombie well that's... that's different. LordOlam 11:45, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

  6. Keep - What is this here for? They're on the stats page. –Xoid MTFU! 10:58, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Actually, that's a good point. The page was never eligible for Speedy Deletion in the first place. Does that mean I can go ahead and delete this section and remove the Deletion template from the Necronauts group page? It makes the place look rather untidy. --Funt Solo Scotland flag.JPG 11:18, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
  7. Keep - They exist, and guard the dread cycloptian depths of Malton...but they aren't on the wiki much due to their Anarchism stance. --18:34, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

  10. Keep - Still a very active group - Masterstan 2.2.07
  11. Keep - We're still very active - just our page is so damn good we don't need to update it much. Also, it's more members than the stats page says - we have dual membership fellows, deep cover operatives and people who just can't spell. Oh, and I've just updated the page. Anyone for tiffin? --Funt Solo Scotland flag.JPG 23:35, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
  12. Keep - Aye - we're still around. Just not very organised. Some people take this FAR TOO SERIOUSLY. -- Brian McClair

  4. Speedy Delete - Is this the name of your zerging group? Even then, it looks like you are the only member. Why not have it moved to your personal page? --Amanu Jaku 20:22, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
I am not a zerger! I am trying to recruit in game, on the Brainstock board and here. So I would appreciate it if you would just leave the page alone and go for the ones who have actually gone. --Kip Saunders 17:34, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
