Category:Adbots

There have been more then 20 adbots on the wiki, if we want to keep this category then someone will need to do some deep crawling through the logs since adbots aren't filed on the Vandal data page. Or we can just delete the category since a list of banned abots isn't that useful anyway. - Vantar 20:44, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

  1. delete aye, that can be gone --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 20:46, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
  2. Delete Seems pointless. Omega 21:39, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
  3. Keep - I don't see why it should be deleted, just start adding it/work it into whatever adbot banning procedures there already are. The logs aren't too hard I can do it myself sooner or later if that is the issue. --Karekmaps?! 02:41, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
  4. Delete - unless someone can tell me why we need to categorise them. Why would anyone want to go back finding all the banned adbots. Just ban the suckers, they're not worth the effort of categorising -- boxy talki 07:37 30 January 2008 (BST)

Category:Arrowsmith

There is no reason for this category to exist and 3 reasons why it should not:

  • Userpages don't need categories as their sub pages handled differently then those in the main namespace.
  • The Navigation template on the users page is doing the exact same thing as this category is (providing a list of and links to all the subpages)
  • I am pretty sure this user does not exist

- Vantar 19:53, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

  1. Speedy Delete - Crit 2 and Crit 11. Non-existent user and clearly off topic as the user doesn't exist.--Karekmaps?! 02:39, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
How is this a Crit. 2? It categorizes all the pages from this user who character is Urban dead relevant, crit 2 is for pages like this also crit 11 only works in the Username space, this is in the category namespace. - Vantar 17:32, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
    Yar, ignore me, I'm confusing myself.--Karekmaps?! 01:56, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
  2. "Userpages don't need categories as their sub pages [are] handled differently then those in the main namespace." Could you tell me more? --Toejam 19:42, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Subpages of pages in the User Namespace provide their own links back to their respect main page. Attaching a subpage to A central page is one of the more common use of Categories on this wiki. The other main useage of categories is to provide a navigation system but this function almost always handled by Navigation template as it is done in this case. Lastly pages in the User namespace don't get listed on Special:Uncategorizedpages so they don't get in the way of identify pages in need of formating help, blanked pages or new created pages as uncategorized pages in the main space do.11:49, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
  3. Keep - If a user wants a category to keep track of their pages, I see no reason not to allow them to. However, User:Arrowsmith and all associated pages should be moved to a sub-page of the real user (yes, it is a non-existent user, it's a character page in the user namespace) -- boxy talki 08:36 31 January 2008 (BST)
  4. Merge - Move the stuff into Sparo's (the author) userspace. --Z. slay3r Talk  21:06, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Red Rum Tommy Gun

I'm not neccisarily calling for this to be deleted, but if you read the post that Kevan has made here he is clearly asking for some form of action to be taken over it, either a template stating it's a hoax or deletion, so, seeing as it's his game and all, fair enougth. He's probably sick of people complaining they can't find them or something. I'm bringing this to the deletions page because I know of no other forum that would be totaly suitible for it. Well, the one below is a dupe of this (I was going to put it to SD, but apparently forgot), but the rest aren't duplicated elsewhere. There were a couple, but they were speedied earlier. Also, everyone please note that the last suggestion on the list is slightly different as it has had some voting. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 19:38, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

How can they be removed if they never were in voting? I don't see any purpose in keeping these suggestions. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 10:16, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
I wasn't aware removed suggestions had to have votes on them, they were still submitted but the authors decided to stop voting before it could begin and continue with discussion. That and I don't think things in the Suggestions namespace should be deleted unless they are obvious attempts to spam it or are moved/placed in the wrong namespace.--Karekmaps?! 10:38, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
It was never put to a vote, to be removed. As you can see from the users contributions, this page was never placed on the current suggestions list... anyone who wasn't watching the recent changes at the time never got a chance to vote on this (or any of the ones below). The authors just stuffed up... -- boxy talki 07:18 12 January 2008 (BST)
Then I'd have to say either move it to a user subpage through a move request or ask the creator why and if it can be speedied under Author Only.--Karekmaps?! 07:40, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

    Delete - it's been moved--Kristi of the Dead 10:39, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
That got deleted. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 04:30, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
The roster itself. But it survives on several user subpages.  Nalikill  TALK  E!  W!  M!  USAI  04:31, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Oh, oh, I have! You can find one as a sub of Sonny, or Cyberbob's user page! Do you need directions, or can you find your own way there? ;).Anyway, Grim? Get over it. You should feel proud that you came up with something good enough that people are stealing it. Now, this template can be deleted quite fairly, seeing as how Nali has created a user-sub of it. That snippet said, I'm going to try and go to sleep. See you all in a week or so.-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 04:33, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, and I'd be willing to let this get crit 1'd if that wouldn't make Grim press on for a crit 6 of my subpage.  Nalikill  TALK  E!  W!  M!  USAI  04:33, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
They could be deleted as crit 1's, actually. Well, most of them could be. In fact, i recall voting delete on most of them. I dont mind people taking the concept. What i do mind is people taking my words and claiming that they are their words. Make up your own reasons and write it yourself instead of stealing mine. I thought i made as much clear in my vote but, quite naturally, you guys are far too retarded to see such an obvious comment as that. nosirree. If anything could possibly conflict with your statements it must be ignored, and we must pretend it doesnt exist. Grow a brain you two. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 04:36, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
So you'd have no problem with it if I used it and said "To quote Grim:". (Bear in mind: I can use those exact words in a vote and there's nothing you can do about it; all you can do is get the templates deleted.)  Nalikill  TALK  E!  W!  M!  USAI  04:38, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
No, write up your own damned vote, and your own damned reasoning, instead of stealing my signed post and sticking your signature on it. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 04:40, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
So we can expect you to start filing cases against anyone voting "as above" or similar can we? --Honestmistake 10:12, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Well, by pretty much any country's law you care to name, and by the rules of the wiki, I have the right to justify my vote however I damn well please, and to say what I damn well please-the point that YOU failed to address from my response. Even if you get the pages deleted, I can continue to use your exact words on every vote and every discussion on every new gun suggestion, without crediting you if I want to.  Nalikill  TALK  E!  W!  M!  USAI  04:43, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

  4. Keep - just change it to say something similar, in your own words, Nali, for the love of god. All non-subst'ed templated replies should be outlawed on this wiki... or at least in the suggestions system, where votes are supposed to stay the same once closed -- boxy talki 05:32 14 January 2008 (BST)
Delete - been moved to a user page -- boxy talki 10:22 14 January 2008 (BST)
BTW, I'm voting delete on the condition that when deleted, the user page isn't put up for speedydeletion on the ground of being a deletion work around... if it wasn't there already, I would still be keeping this (even if it needs modification) -- boxy talki 10:41 14 January 2008 (BST)
  5. Speedy Delete - Crit 1, needless, and it shouldn't have it's own page anyway, it should be a user sub-page and if kept I will be filing Move Requests until it is done, it's user content on a community namespace.--Karekmaps?! 07:24, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
  6. speedy delete - Crit 1 as Karek (can I still say that?) Why bother with a seperate page when you can just paste it from Grims and switch sigs!--Honestmistake 10:12, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
  7. Speedy Delete - Kill it with fire. --Cyberbob DORIS CGR U! 10:37, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Category:User

This category is rather pointless. Of the 24,705 users on the wiki 101 of them are listed here while all of them are on Special:Listusers. Also all the pages that are listed in this category are in the user namespace and thus do not have any need for categories in the firstplace- Vantar 10:24, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Note to self: pay more attention to A/D and A/SD... i liked this category... why did you guys deleted it ? :( --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 19:13, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Category:Suggestion Pages

The list of suggestions (with the exception of those on userpages and sandboxes) is duplicated here, a list of all pages in the Suggestion namespace. Also, the category tag from Template:SugVoteBox will have to be removed. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 13:55, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

  1. Keep - Special pages aren't Crit 1 able, especially considering they are next to impossible to find for a normal user, this page is one of the most used categories on the wiki.--Karekmaps?! 14:45, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
  2. Keep - Swiers makes a good point. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 22:46, 3 January 2008 (UTC) Delete - The only reference to it is on Category:Suggestions, which could be easily replaced with a link to the special page. Wouldn't be any harder to find. --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 15:11, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
  3. Keep Its similar to the special page, but not identical. And it is easier to find (hell, I can;t find that special page without a link). There's also the link to Category:Suggestion Pages at the bottom of every suggestion page, as its a category. The special page can't duplicate that. SIM Core Map.png Swiers 22:01, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Hmmm, didn't remember that there's a link to the category on each page that belongs to it. Can I remove this or does this have to stay here for the rest of the two weeks? --Midianian|T|T:S|C:RCS| 22:46, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
  4. Keep - Swiers nailed it, that, and the Category:Suggestion Pages is flexbile in consideration for future endeavours (if any). --Ryiis 22:04, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
  5. Keep - Swiers hits the nail on the head with the hammer. --User:Axe27/Sig 00:55, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
