Coble Street

Moved from A/SD, Grim Crit 1ed it before it got a keep.--J3D 02:41, 26 July 2008 (BST)

Monroeville attempt at a location page. Theres no need for them to be made at all. its just worthless spam. The ones we have for malton universally suck anyway. As such, i submit this as crit 1: No content, No expandable content, and a waste of space on this wiki. --The Grimch U! E! 02:12, 26 July 2008 (BST)

Keep - not because i want it on the wiki but because i feel this should be discussed by the community not quickly deleted when no ones looking.--J3D 02:23, 26 July 2008 (BST)
  1. Keep - Actually, it could be expanded, by adding the correct templates. You know better than that Grim. --KamdenM|W|T|H 02:36, 26 July 2008 (BST)
  2. Keep - It's better than some other location pages we have. --PdeqTalk* 05:29, 26 July 2008 (BST)

It was requested. --PdeqTalk* 08:38, 26 July 2008 (BST)
  5. Delete - And delete all Monreoville street pages. Monroeville may be clinging to unlife the most tenacious rotter, but it is after all temporary... --WanYao 08:12, 26 July 2008 (BST)
  6. Delete - No useful information -- boxy talki 13:25 26 July 2008 (BST)
  7. Keep - as pdeq. DanceDanceRevolution 14:39, 26 July 2008 (BST)
  8. Keep As far as I know Monreoville life expectancy is unknown to all but Kevan. Until the plug is pulled on Monreoville lets keep the stuff on Monreoville. - Vantar 08:08, 27 July 2008 (BST)
  9. Speedydelete - Crit 1. No usful information, very short, and cannot be meaningfully expanded. Kamden/Yaxe/Axe27, adding generic templates to a page doesnt constitute expansion, unless you want to count adding rambling useless garbage to any page also as expansion of the page. Its a waste of space on this wiki. And J3D, whats with the accusation in the opening of this? Accusing me of crit oning it before it got a keep? You saying and/or implying i deleted it before it got a keep? Logs say otherwise. --The Grimch U! E! 08:00, 27 July 2008 (BST)
Sigh. you know exactly what i'm saying. I'm saying i voted keep not because you deleted it but because you put a page on a/sd that imho should have been put here because i don't feel it really is a crit 1. Hence i voted keep so it would be moved across. As i don't particuarly have an opinion on this issue (but felt it should be discussed by all, not just the few who saw it before it could be deleted by another sysop) i'm gonna strike my vote.--J3D 08:25, 27 July 2008 (BST)
Thats not what your opening here said, and indeed, still says: "Moved from A/SD, Grim Crit 1ed it before it got a keep.--J3DSR! 02:41, 26 July 2008 (BST)". Have you considered asttempting to word things to not imply things that are completely incorrect, personal attack-like, and misleading? --The Grimch U! E! 09:52, 27 July 2008 (BST)
Crit 1ed as in put on a/sd as a crit 1. I was under the impression that deleting without going via a/sd was misconduct and would never be so presumptuous as to accuse you of misusing your power without proper evidence. As i said (and still believe) you knew EXACTLY what i meant and i'm fairly sure everyone else here did too. --J3D 10:02, 27 July 2008 (BST)
The wording was a little confusing, but I got what you meant. --PdeqTalk* 10:13, 27 July 2008 (BST)
  10. Kill It's my creation. I didn't realise the Monroeville locations were all Example (Monroeville). My mistake, not a big wiki user. So it deserves to go on that basis. However I'll put a more complete version on at Coble Street (Monroeville) with more content, street template and links to Amusing Locations in Monroeville. --Co fragment 09:35, 30 July 2008 (BST)
  11. Keep - However it then needs moving to the appropriate MV space. Disk space is cheap, keep or open the flood gates to every location stub for wasteland getting put up for deletion using identical reasons. -- St. Iscariot GC PK WTE The Big Brother Diary Room is at 551 - 85, which is in the area Elstree Studios, within South Borehamwood - Thank Hagnat! 18:58, 30 July 2008 (BST)

Party

Moved from A/SD were it was a crit 2 until it got one keep.- Vantar 02:41, 23 July 2008 (BST)

  1. Keep ~ I dont consider this off topic as we have claimed Miltown to the party suburb. I searched before creating the page, and I did not find another suburb with that claim. Please reconsider. --Gus ThomasRRFKNSparta 20:18, 22 July 2008 (BST)
whoever moved this from A/SD was kind enough to include my keep vote, but not my arguement against Crit 3. Redirect was selected for deletion within hours of creation, it has had no chance to be used yet. Voting Crit 3 therefore, atleast how i see it, make all new wiki pages eligible for deletion by Crit 3. --Gus ThomasRRFKNSparta 20:37, 23 July 2008 (BST)

Viva La Revolution

Currently defunct, no use beyond the page, and no real need for it, as the original creater and second in command (1st in command for the wiki) it's been tried ot speedy, which didn't work... --Jakezing 03:05, 17 July 2008 (BST)

  1. Keep - You ain't living this one down or burying it under the carpet, Darkmagic, no chance! But, seriously, I can't speak to the group's real influence in-game, it was a real group, thus it's a moment from UD's history. Maybe not a proud moment... but a moment nonetheless. And we don't delete those. Hell, I even made a Viva parody template.... --WanYao 06:14, 17 July 2008 (BST)
  2. Keep - Didn't work on speedy because it didn't fit any speedy crit. We don't get rid of inactive group pages unless the group never got off the ground to begin with. For better or worse, history is preserved. --PdeqTalk* 06:30, 17 July 2008 (BST)

LMAO!! Where, then, did you find the time to spend so much time on the wiki, if you had better things to do??? More even than me, lol! Anyhoo, this group had a membership. It formed alliances with established groups. It propagandised like mad. Hell, don't you even have a whack of stuff on YouTube? Nope, this stays. As per Bob Fortune. --WanYao 10:07, 18 July 2008 (BST)

The gibbering Talk-page trolling. The general non-sequitur trenchcoatery. And oh TEH BUTCHERY of the English language (and the Google Translation Tool German, to boot!). 5. Keep - I like redirects. They're useful when you're looking for a group and typing in the address but you don't know exactly what the page is called. It's not like any other group needs these particular page names, except maybe the three frequencies. Plus these redirect names are dissimilar enough from every other article name that they're very unlikely to cloud search results for any other pages. --Toejam 00:26, 18 July 2008 (BST)
  6. Delete - You're telling us 28.55 doesn't count as search spam? Nerf them all, Redirects should be used first unless they are so painfully obvious that it will be a common search term for the page in question, all of these fail that test.--Karekmaps?! 11:12, 18 July 2008 (BST)
Well, why else would someone search for 28.55 except to find this group? The only known broadcaster on this frequency is this group. --Toejam 14:41, 18 July 2008 (BST)
What limits one group of people to be the only users of a radio station in Malton?--Karekmaps?! 14:54, 18 July 2008 (BST)
Nothing at all. Other groups are still free to use this frequency. But at the minute, it's pretty clear that anyone who goes to "28.55" or "The inspirational channel" is looking for Malton Inspirational Channel so it makes sense that the page should redirect there. --Toejam 17:07, 18 July 2008 (BST)
That makes absolutely no sense to me, mostly because the page already being in use prevents future possible proper use. Of someone is searching 28.55 they will already get Malton Inspirational Channel because it would come up in page content, the same goes for every single one of those redirects, they have no purpose beyond preventing future use of those pages.--Karekmaps?! 17:23, 18 July 2008 (BST)
Just to clarify my previous point, the redirects are potentially useful for people who type in the name of the page but get something small wrong, like forgetting the "the" or getting the capitalisation wrong or something.
If there's ever any alternative content that should go on these pages, they can be changed to disambiguation pages. This is a wiki after all. That means these pages won't prevent possible future content having a home. Also, when you search for 28.55 ('search', not 'go') there are no results.
I don't want to make a mountain out of a molehill on this, it's a small thing, where both "keep" and "delete" views are about avoiding a minor inconvenience, and it seems unlikely to affect more people than the fingers of one hand. I'm going away for a bit, so I'll not be able to continue this line of discussion. --Toejam 19:49, 18 July 2008 (BST)

Battle of Yagoton

No content, only contains a template detailing a supposed 'survivor victory' against major zombie groups. Only linked from six other pages (seven if you count this one): one redirect, one from Yagoton main, two on archives, one move request, and one from the Second Big Bash talk page where they discuss how it's a fictional event. To prove that what happened was contrary to what was written on that page:

  • Yagoton and Bale Mall was trashed before by LUE on its LollapaLUEza on August 12-13, 2007.
  • After LUE moves on, Mmm Braanz Tahr occupies the suburb from August 22 onwards.
  • The reason why the zombie hordes eventually left the suburb cannot be attributed to superior survivor coordination, but merely due to the fact that they joined the Second Big Bash.
  • Most of the page was edited by Darkmagic, whose user page redirects to Jakezing, also known as cody6. Darkmagic/Jakezing/cody6 is also the one who initially posted the discussion to the Second Big Bash talk page.

As you see the details of the so-called battle mostly came from the point of view of only one player, and the news archives and other history pages point out something totally different happened up there. --Aeon17x 02:19, 2 July 2008 (BST)

cyberbob, you wanted crit 12 deleted because "checking to see if a group was still active was a pet peeve" of yours. Was there more to it than that? That's all you said in the voting to delete it. Just curious really. --– Nubis 21:07, 15 July 2008 (BST)
It wasn't so that every single group page ever made will be kept. A number of group pages have been deleted since crit 12 was eliminated. However, most of these seem to have enough content to justify keeping them, but be sure to look through them. For example, the first one seems like someone just popped onto the wiki, tried to start a group and then lost interest/quit the game/never looked at the page they made again. Although I do think it is prudent to vote keep on group pages when in doubt. --PdeqTalk* 17:02, 2 July 2008 (BST)
  6. As Pdeq and also: I've put these under normal deletions exactly because crit 12 was removed. Considering these pages weren't even linked to at all, it didn't seem like the wiki would be losing out with their removal. However, I'm not sure what arbitrary lines people like to draw about what counts as a group page worth keeping and what is worth dumping. Another reason why this is under normal deletions. --User:The Rooster The Rooster 17:23, 2 July 2008 (BST)

Bunch of useless spammy templates

WARNING: WALL OF TEXT ALERT!

While i could handle it while there were only a couple, all of the above amount to completely usless spam. The templates can only be used by a single person each, all of them lack creativity and none of them are funny. --Sonny Corleone DORIS MSD pr0n 01:19, 27 June 2008 (BST)

  • Keep - I likes my free templates. Despite the fact that the cheese dude scares me slightly. I think everyone should vote on their own though. Ask the recipient if they want them. -- Cheese WTF!RandomSysOp? 01:28, 27 June 2008 (BST)
  • Keep - Despite them taking-up bandwidth unnecessarily, many of us reserve the ability to make templates. Besides that, the users aren't using the templates to break any rules. --Arcology 01:30, 27 June 2008 (BST)
  • Delete - Thank you sonny for posting that for me, when i loaded them all up to examine them i apparently tripped some sort of lockout script in the server that made me unable to even load a page (probably misinterpreted my loading of all these pages as part of some kind of half arsed DDOS attack). For starters, no one can remove an article up for deletion by another without the consent of the people making the deletion request, so Cheesemans removals have been undone. Secondly, such templates can only be used on a single individuals userpage. While i do not mind the idea of such flagboxes being presented to other users, putting them in the template namespace is too much. Templates are for general utility, not for specific individuals (Other templates along this line allow for customisation via variable fields, for example the cookie template. If you want to keep yours, by all means move it to a subpage of your userpage and call it from there, or even just copy and paste the raw code for it onto your page, but spamming up the Template namespace with the nonsense is just a no go. Its just wasteful. Also, they lack any originality or humour, most of them being an example of trying too hard to be funny and failing miserably. --The Grimch U! E! WAT! 10:50, 27 June 2008 (BST)
  • Keep - If I'm able to vote Keep, I am voting keep. First off, several of the templates you listed are not even Play on Name templates, like the Carlin one and the Stick in the Mud one. Second, almost all the templates are ones which the recipients love and are wanting to keep - many of them have gone on their user pages now. As for humor, they're funny - Grim you just don't have a sense of humor. Bullgod, Aeon17x, Cheeseman, Cyberbob, Axehack, Firedancer, Billyclub Thorton, AHLG, Bob Fortune, Akule, Wanyao, Woot, Nick, Michaelread, and Conndraka have already THANKED me for the templates even. And other than Sonny and Karek (who removed his template), there have been NO complaints at all. As for what yu're saying about 'only being able to be used by one person' I guess your Grim S template has to go as well by your il-logic? There are no rules against my making fun templates for people to put on their user pages if they so wish, or for me to make for my own purposes. Hell most of my suggestions probably take up more bandwidth. One of Grim's comments probably take up more bandwidth. Why are you going to try to delete someone else's stuff when both the sender and the recipient want it? If they don't want it they can just delete it. Other than Sonny and Karek, no one in that list does not want their template --Tselita 11:34, 27 June 2008 (BST)
The Carlin one is only in there because of a deletion error (And i consent to its removal, but since sonny posted this i cant do it myself), the Stick in the mud one is completely absent. Go-go fact checking! This isnt about complaints or liking it or not, this is about their appropriateness in the Template namespace, which they plainly arent. I suggested two ways in which the templates could be easily preserved by the people who like them and genuinely find them amusing, though such appears to have travelled the vacuous cavern betwixt your ears without impacting a single neuron.
