Mall Locations

All information covered by Category:Malls- Vantar 23:46, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

  1. Keep, Merge, and Redirect to Category:Malls - This doesn't need to be handled here, just merge the info into the category page (only the paragraph or two at the top), and turn the page into a redirect -- boxytalk • 02:09 23 November 2007 (BST)
  2. Merge - What boxy said, except also merge the map at the bottom. Koli T 07:29, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
  3. Merge - I go to this page all the time, it is very useful -- which is why I actually added a link from the better known and better referenced MIC... Merge this the Mall Information Centre. --WanYao 09:24, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
No, the MIC is specifically about danger levels, this would dilute that page. It should be merged with Category:Malls, so there is only one page listing all the Mall locations. Both the maps are already on the category page -- boxytalk • 12:59 25 November 2007 (BST)
Also, if the maps are placed on the MIC page, I suspect it will overload the page with templates (and templates withing templates, within templates), as it did with Mall/Lowdown -- boxytalk • 03:08 30 November 2007 (BST)
  4. Merge - Please don't loose this info. Adding it to the MIC would be a very smart thing. ZEDU medic T MEMS 04:28, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  5. Merge - enough said --~~~~ [talk] 12:04, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  6. Merge with Category:Malls. -- Atticus Rex mfu pif Δ 16:15, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
  7. Merge - Can we do something with the graphics for that page? Perhaps make it more like the Suburb map but with mini icons of the mall logos in the appropriate suburb blocks? --Akule School's in session. 20:34, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
  8. Keep - Cause this page is better than what you want it merged into and probably older too.--Karekmaps?! 22:28, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
What don't you understand about merging? It means that the info (which may or may not be better) will go onto the page... it will all be there, only easier to access because there is a link to Category:Malls on every single mall page already -- boxytalk • 03:08 30 November 2007 (BST)
I understand about merging but don't think it should be done in this case, if anything Category:Malls should have most of it's content removed so it's just a list of links to the malls in the category. The page is better where it is, Mall Locations, because it is more friendly to new users, easier to find in searches(it's in the main namespace which is always easier to search), it contains more information than the page you want it to merge into(meaning the other page should be crit 1 speedy deleted, not this one merged into it). It's better the way it is now, this page has been around longer, contains more content, is in a better location, and is easier to use in almost any way, including linking as the category links are not newbie friendly. It's better left alone.--Karekmaps?! 20:45, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
So leave this page as a redirect, that way the links still work, and linking remains possible via [[Mall Locations]] -- boxytalk • 23:59 30 November 2007 (BST)
    Needless redirects are needless.--Karekmaps?! 07:44, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
Duplication of information is exactly what redirects are for -- boxytalk • 13:46 3 December 2007 (BST)
Sometimes Duplication of information is not only allowable but pertinent, look at Forts and Fort Creedy/Fort Perryn they have duplicated information on them based on which pages will get more traffic. If you don't like the two pages being the same add some content to one instead of the other, Mall Locations would be a great place to, say, discuss the tactical buildings around each mall, or the important of an outlying Necrotech building, both of which would have no place at Category:Malls--Karekmaps?! 16:42, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
  9. Keep - I have been using this info a lot as I tend to wander Mall to Mall. At the very least merge it into the Mall information center.--Walterohdim 14:00, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
  10. Keep - I use this page all the time. Please keep it. --Lrhyme 02:36, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
What does it have on it that Category:Malls doesn't? Why do we need 4 pages to cover malls? 1, 2, 3 and 4 -- boxytalk • 03:04 30 November 2007 (BST)
This location makes more sense than on the category page.--Karekmaps?! 16:36, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
  11. Keep/Merge - What boxy wrote. --Z. slay3r Talk  15:41, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
  12. Merge I particularly like the "Mall Location Map" section. Very handy for quickly locating the nearest mall. But the rest is redundant.      Ekashp wuz here (aht harman bra!nz!)        00:14, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
  13. Merge - Npov duping is bad. --Tumu 05:48, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Merged into Category:Malls, but kept as a redirect. --Z. slay3r Talk  16:25, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Project_minature

Seemingly created as an experiment in stealing wiki code. Whilst it doesn't state how it intends to 'minaturise' (sic) the wiki, the userpage of one of those involved with the 'project', Austin, would suggest that 'minaturisation' involves placing a page's text inside a small scrollbox. --Pavluk A! 10. Keep - Isn't it a wiki group? I don't see how that is much different than Project Evil or other wiki groups. It's just some people who want to make the wiki's content smaller. --Akule School's in session. 20:26, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
  11. Keep - It's on topic, it has a purpose, it's made by a user that people seem not too like. All of that means keep and feel ashamed for having voted delete on this, cause you all should.--Karekmaps?! 22:31, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
I didn't put this up to vote because of any dislike for Austin. I put it up because it's a rambling exercise in code theft, nothing more. Even if this "wikigroup" carried out their objective, it'd be vandalism. The wiki is fine as it is, it doesn't need to be 'minaturised' into scrollboxes. --Pavluk A! E! 23:08, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Inactive for some time now, last edit was June 16. I also propose that, if this deletion is carried out, "x" be made an example page, because that is MUCH easier to type and remember than whatever the current example page is. If deleted and then the group ever wants a page again later on, they can use the page "Group: X" or some such. SIM Core Map.png Swiers 05:09, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

Withdrawn by author. P works just as well for my purpose. I do think an old group page can still be nominated for deletion- its just not eliegable for a "speedy delete", and requires the full voting process to pass and be deleted. X is surely out of date, but so are many, many others, none worth voting on. SIM Core Map.png Swiers 05:25, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

The example page is, surprisingly enough, example page. I'd redirect your P page to it (as blank and examples are) -- boxytalk • 06:13 23 November 2007 (BST)

I have a few issues with the page the primary one being that it was on Special:Uncategorizedpages with only one link leading to it. To put this in non wiki terms, you wrote your plan then balled it up and threw it into an unmarked folder and shoved it into a filing cabinet. No one else can easily find it and no one has any real reason to look for it. If you have a plan tell people about it, get input make it awesomer and put it somewhere were other people can easily find it. Since this page is unknown and uncategorized I put it up for deletion, then everyone else said that it should be moved to your userspace so you can keep a copy of it. I hope that explained what my issue with this page was, if not stop by my talk page and I can try and make it clearer for you.- Vantar 12:43, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

Assylum

Meh. Self-explanatory. And Nali (or 73, I don't know who did it) mauled the page with ugly coloring, so it sucks now.-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 01:00, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

  2. Delete I didn't do the colouring (I thought that was you, SA?), but I have to agree, It's an old joke that's past it's best.--SeventythreeTalk 01:04, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
I did the coloring. Now I've undone it. I personally consider it a legitimate wiki group.  Nalikill  TALK  E!  W!  M!  USAI  01:05, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
  3. Keep - Technically, we're/Assylum is a group. I think if the page was unbroken, it should stay. --  AHLGTG 01:06, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Thing is, it's pretty much inactive. Maybe we should create a group page for us lot so we can share ideas and stuff instead?--SeventythreeTalk 01:10, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Well, we pretty much do everything on eachother's talk pages.--  AHLGTG 01:21, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
I like the idea of having one communal page; how about we tell about the Assylum as the antecedent for that community and have a small sample of the 'discourse' on the page?  Nalikill  TALK  E!  W!  M!  USAI  01:23, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Possibly. If there was a central group page for us lot, and one of us thought of something shiney they could stick it up on there and we could all have a nice chat about it.--SeventythreeTalk 01:27, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Okay, we've got to think of a name, and we'll have subpages, like Our Group/Spam Room, Our Group/Template Creation Room, Our Group/Random Chat, and then on our main page, have the member list and what it's all about. I invision it as for the casual wiki-chat-stuff that there isn't a place for communally, and for template makers and wiki-code-innovators. I'm decent at design, but obviously SA is the best at designs; I'm terrible with using colors in designs, as it involves a lot of meticulous coordination. If anyone can think of a name, I'd be willing to do the grunt-work of creating the pages and sections and whatnot.  Nalikill  TALK  E!  W!  M!  USAI  02:37, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
  4. Delete - Well, I was the one who requested it, so my vote is self-explanatory, but I figured I'd also say that it's pretty inactive for the most part, and the coloring wasn't what killed it.-- dǝǝɥs ɯɐds: sʎɐʍ1ɐ! 01:07, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

It's another account of mine, I used to use it for editing and creating my group page, as I thought it would make sense to have a seperate account for that. It's a pain in the arse to be honest, (a couple of times forgot to sign out of it before I voted on things, then I had to delete the vote, sign out and sign back in and vote) and I just don't use it.--SeventythreeTalk 09:18, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
