Cyberbob240

Here goes nothing...

I've been around for almost a year now, and have had my fair share of drama along the way. Lately, I've been pretty busy with school, so I haven't really had time to do much beyond the odd vandal case here and there. Once exams are past (they're in about a month, I think), I plan to step up my involvement once again. This is not to say that I'd be getting back into drama, mind you - no matter what you may think, I've sort of moved on from all that (that spat with Gage was a once-off, I promise).

Anyways, I don't really expect to be re-elected, but I would like to think that people could look past the person I used to be and see the work I've done around here. Cheers. --Cyberbob Sys U! 11:36, 11 May 2007 (BST)

  • Vouch I have had "issues" with bob on the odd occasion but hopefully he has matured a little and the fact that he is willing to stand for re-election goes a long way to prove that so i am happy to give him the chance to prove he has moved on. --Honestmistake 12:17, 11 May 2007 (BST)
  • Vouch - Some drama, but not enough for no vouches from me. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 12:27, 11 May 2007 (BST)
  • Vouch - I've thought you were being an idiot some times, but you do a fair bit of work, so why not? Jonny12 talk 17:43, 11 May 2007 (BST)

Third vouch gained at 17:43, 11 May 2007 (BST)

  • Vouch - Exams? I know the feeling, and I'm expected to get my results on my birthday :( Anyway you did a fab job before I thought and I reckon that hasn't changed. --MarieThe Grove on Tour 19:50, 11 May 2007 (BST)
  • Against - Firstly, praise: you've done a lot of positive work on vandal banning; here, you've been willing to put yourself up for re-evaluation even though you didn't have to, and generally you've been improving with regards to the frequency of drama. But I can't give you my support, because you can still be quite horrible to people, even recently. That's a bad trait for a normal editor, but in combination with being a sysop it's far worse, because it makes people disillusioned not only with one user, but with the whole wiki and its systems. Before I could vouch for you, I would need to see evidence, not just words, that that trait isn't coming back. If you can go six months without being causing drama with anyone, you'll have my vouch. Hopefully next time. --Toejam 21:21, 11 May 2007 (BST)
  • Strongly Against - Horribly immature. We don't need to keep around the old style of drama and angst filled sysops. Elect people who are calm, and those who are able to maintain their cool. Don't elect those who don't fit that bill. Voting against Cyberbob is a vote for sanity on this wiki.--Gage 21:46, 11 May 2007 (BST)
  • Vouch - I've herd u don't liek mudkpiz. Anyway, enjoy your vouch.--Thari TжFedCom is BFI! 21:53, 11 May 2007 (BST)
  • Vouch - very tough on vandals, which is much needed this day and age.--Blood Panther 22:05, 11 May 2007 (BST)
  • Against - Such draaaaamaaaaa is bad for my heath. Although you might be able to convince me of your shining purity. Perhaps if you yelled at me a lot...Still, I gotta respect you for putting yourself up for reelection.--Lachryma 01:11, 12 May 2007 (BST)
Vouch - After some gold in the bask-I mean, after a balanced and rational explanation, I change my vote. I also add that I will start drama with this fool if he ever messes with a newbie.--Lachryma 01:58, 12 May 2007 (BST)
Lachryma, I know you weren't around for it, but he has promised many times to reform. They gave him that chance. He failed. Where does it end? He already broke his promise to reform many times. Why do you people continue to believe him?--Gage 02:31, 12 May 2007 (BST)
Why do you care? I though you hated the wiki and wanted to play a violin while it burned? Well, whatever. He hasn't broken his promise to me. Maybe he will, maybe he won't. I don't know him well enough. But maybe if he pledges to not start drama (as determined by a third party) to the whole wiki, then we can drag him to misconduct and demote him if he ever gets all pissy with someone. I personally don't care. He hasn't used his sysop powers for evil yet, and he's done some good, so let's give him his current job back.--Lachryma 02:48, 12 May 2007 (BST)
  • Vouch Hell, Why don't we put ever Sysop up for Reelection? --User:Axe27/Sig 01:14, 12 May 2007 (BST)
  • Abstain- Actually, Your more of a background editor. I haven't seen your work well enough to say vouch, but I have no reason to say against.--User:Axe27/Sig 05:25, 12 May 2007 (BST)
  • Against - although I respect your positive contributions to keeping the wiki going, I'm pretty much in agreement with Toejam. You seem to like sticking the boot in, in a way that creates (or has the potential to) more drama -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 01:52, 12 May 2007 (BST)
  • Abstain - I never tought I would use an Abstain, it seems stupid, but let me explain myself. I found Cyberbob highly annoying sometimes, and God knows we have been in opposite sides an hectazillion times. Toejam and maybe Gage make a point in that he has claimed to have reform multiple times when he obviously didn't reform, and that there's safety in electing guys known for their calm behaviour instead of someone that isn't known for such a good trait. That said, in the last months, ranging from February 2nd (coincidentally the day after my birthday) up to now, he has changed his attitude a lot (at least towards me), even eventually apologizing for past mistreatment in Moderational pages (the Faerie Queen affair) and much more. His only slip of conduct was maybe with Gage as some have mentioned, but I can't say Gage didn't invite antagonizers. I can't vote against him, but I can't vouch for him neither with some users' excellent arguments. My point is made. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 03:01, 12 May 2007 (BST)

*Slight Against - You're prone to drama, but not the most so sysop out there. You had the guts to put yourself up here again, and you do listen to others criticisms to some extent. I don't think your the best moderator out there, but you do a good job as a sysop. Work on being less prone to flaming, OK? --Darth Sensitive Talk W! 03:12, 12 May 2007 (BST)

  • Vouch - I've talked with CB, and he tells me he's gonna steer clear, and I'll take him at his word. --Darth Sensitive Talk W! 00:46, 13 May 2007 (BST)
  • Against - I think you've done some good work here, but I'm with Toejam. And your assertion that you've changed is pretty hollow when I see some of the contributions you've made in the past 48 hours or so, including the truly disgusting conversation that got you to put your name up here. That kind of immaturity would be off-putting from a regular user; from a sysop, a purported First Citizen of this community, I find it reprehensible. -- Atticus Rex mfu pif Δ 05:16, 12 May 2007 (BST)

  • Against - Ok, my vote's not surprising considering my history with Cyberbob. However I want to see if this change is for real. From what I've seen so far, you have changed for the better. But for how long is the real question? If you can prove that you are no longer drama prone then I'll consider vouching for you next time in a few months. However for now I think that getting away from the Sysop scene will do you a world of good. - JedazΣT MC ΞD CT SR: 05:57, 12 May 2007 (GMT)
    • You know, that's a very good idea. I'm withdrawing this bid. Expect to see more on the Demotions page. --Cyberbob Sys U! 07:02, 12 May 2007 (BST)
  • Vouch - While i really dislike him as a person and would love to see his beard on fire, he does a good job as a sysop. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 23:13, 12 May 2007 (BST)
  • Abstain - We've had our disagreements, but the truth is that he has done a lot of work on this wiki and has changed a fair bit recently. I don't fell that I can vote against.--The General T Sys U! P! F! 10:32, 13 May 2007 (BST)

  • Vouch - He's as good as anyone. I like admins to be tough. --Anotherpongo 16:50, 18 May 2007 (BST)

The promotion bid has failed, and as such, Cyberbob240 has been stripped of his sysop status. Better luck if you decide to run again in the future. --Darth Sensitive Talk W! 00:39, 29 May 2007 (BST)
