Protection from Moves

They have all been moved a shitload lately.--Gage 02:12, 30 September 2006 (BST)

Hmmm, Gage, to prevent furture damage perhaps we should make "Back-Ups" of important and sensitive pages? The vandals are getting more and more sophisticated. They might make a change we can't fix.--Canuhearmenow Hunt! 02:20, 30 September 2006 (BST)
Honestly, I don't think that is possible unless they were a mod or a bureaucrat.--Gage 02:23, 30 September 2006 (BST)
It's possible. It happened yesterday on Wikipedia. --Gold Blade 02:25, 30 September 2006 (BST)
Thats what I'm talking about. They might Hack Mod status and wreck havoc, we need a fail-safe system.--Canuhearmenow Hunt! 02:26, 30 September 2006 (BST)
Hack Mod status? No. They made it so any attempt to edit the page edited another page, including moves and deletion. --Gold BladeVote Abstain!
Hmmm, those this count towards "Significant Work on the Wiki?" helping come up with the idea to make back-up files? I can smell the Mod status already... Smells like... Like... Gold.--Canuhearmenow Hunt! 02:34, 30 September 2006 (BST)

My friend has left UD for good and I think his pages should be protected just in case he ever wants to come back in the future. Cheeseman W!ASBTalk 19:13, 23 September 2006 (BST)

Um, I really see no reason to protect this. If he comes back he comes back. If he doesn't he doesn't. His user page won't be deleted whatever happens. --Brizth M T 22:01, 23 September 2006 (BST)

Combative External Links

Wanker

It may be a little too much work, but... I think all the pages under this category should be protected.--Thari TжFedCom is BFI! 22:07, 22 September 2006 (BST)

All protected - wanker template has been modified to reflect that the pages are and should be protected. --Darth Sensitive Talk W! 04:15, 23 September 2006 (BST)
Nice work, thanks.--Thari TжFedCom is BFI! 06:02, 23 September 2006 (BST)

Template:Locationblock

Also Template:Locationblockmerge and Template:Multiblock Structure. No modification needed. If someone breaks theese templates, he will crash every location page and that's not cool.--Thari TжFedCom is BFI! 15:54, 22 September 2006 (BST)

Protectionated by Xoid.--Thari TжFedCom is BFI! 22:07, 22 September 2006 (BST)
I wish I had seen this. These templates need to remain unprotected, especially since I just became aware of a bug and can no longer fix it! If they DO get messed up, revering is NOT a problem for any decently skilled wiki user. --SirensT RR 23:28, 22 September 2006 (BST)
Yeah, but recaching the pages is a killer on the server. That's not something I want to see. Besides, it's talk pages are there for a reason; just place a "please make this alteration" message on the talk page and I'll get around to it. Or you can bug another mod if you wish. Despite whatever Odd said, doing that sort of stuff is in the job description. –Xoid STFU! 10:58, 23 September 2006 (BST)

User:Jedaz/Sandbox/Sig

Actualy it's an uprotection request belive it or not. I wish to update some links in my signature (some free advertising for my friend) so it's good if I can actually alter the page, you can protect it again after I've altered them if you want to. Just let me know so I can place a protection request after I've changed them. Thanks. - Jedaz - 04:05/19/03/2024 08:46, 22 September 2006 (BST)

Unprotected.--The General T Sys U! P! F! 10:30, 22 September 2006 (BST)
Technically, unless it's going to be needing frequent modification you're just supposed to tap a moderator on the shoulder and say, "Hey you, fix that!" instead of going through M/PT. –Xoid STFU! 18:19, 22 September 2006 (BST)

User:Max Grivas/sig

Template:comannounce

For a template on the Main Page, this is unprotected. Seems like it should be to me. – Nubis NWO 23:50, 9 September 2006 (BST)

protected. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 23:53, 9 September 2006 (BST)
This is kinda annoying considering most of the time it isn't updated very frequently (like now), and it hasn't seemed to be the target of much vanadalisim. It seems more trouble than its worth to stop regular users. --YbborT 23:06, 15 September 2006 (BST)
True. It's kinda pointless if the Template:Lastupdate is unprotected anyway. Currently it is just annoying and brings more work to mods (what we traditionally hate...) and doesn't offer that much protection from Main Page vandals. Anyone else has any opinion? --Brizth M T 23:14, 15 September 2006 (BST)
I have never seen either template vandalized, and less work for us is always good. –Bob Hammero ModB'cratTA 00:02, 16 September 2006 (BST)
Well, it's unprotected from editing now. I left the move protection though. --Brizth M T 00:09, 16 September 2006 (BST)

Old Policy Discussion Pages

and their talk pages, of course.

And i think that all Archieved Policies should be protected too. --overlord hagnat mod 21:22, 7 September 2006 (BST)

Protected. The links provided at least, as I'm a lazy old codger and can't be bothered to do anything without a direct link shoved up me arse. I'm keeping the talk pages open however, so people have a place to put any questions regarding the pages. – Nubis NWO 21:00, 8 September 2006 (BST)

There. :) --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 21:21, 8 September 2006 (BST)

I think that policies could be protected as soon as they are protected. Should we vote for this or can common sense work here ? --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 21:21, 8 September 2006 (BST)
Done, and put it in the Protections Scheduling Queue just to be official-like. I doubt anyone would care. – Nubis NWO 21:34, 8 September 2006 (BST)
