BobHammero

Although I have only been around for a little over a month with this account, I was originally one half of the (now defunct) account Tehasskickars, which I used to help set up a group, Assault on Stupid Survivors. I used the Tehasskickars account for about a month before I switched to this one for good.

I've made between 700 and 800 edits (plus others with the original account), and have taken on many leadership and maintenance responsibilities. Specifically, in addition to being a member of Project Welcome and a volunteer Arbitrator, I've helped the Locations Pages Project by creating and updating a dozen or so locations pages, most notably the Darvall Heights page itself.

I've also created a half dozen or so templates, including the Maintenance and NoMoreDrama templates. I also created the Help:Quick Reference editing guide.

I have nominated a large number of pages for Speedy Deletion, moved user pages not in the User namespace, and performed various small maintenance tasks around the wiki, such as correcting minor page errors, fixing broken links, reporting vandalism to Vandal Banning, and things of that nature. I have also helped current and new users with editing questions, and problems following wiki policies.

I have actively contributed to the democratic side of things as well, voting regularly on the Suggestions page and the Deletions page, and asking other wiki users and moderators for input. I even have a suggestion that seems as though it will make it onto the Peer Reviewed Suggestions page ("Axe Sharpening").

Finally, I have only had a major disagreement in the past with one user, and we have since been able to resolve things and forge a mutual agreement not to engage in further arguments with each other.

I would like to be moderator, and hope that the community finds me suitable for the job. Thank you. --Bob Hammero TW!U! 08:51, 30 May 2006 (BST)

  • Vouch - If you had posted this a month ago I would have cried NO! However, you've made massive changes in your behaviour for the better, as well as creating that fantastic "Editor's Toolbox". --A Bothan Spy Mod WTF U! 09:00, 30 May 2006 (BST)
  • Vouch - Enthusiastic about improving the wiki, reformed. Has been working in a variety of areas to do general maintenance; as well as whipping location stubs and the like up to scratch. I'd prefer to see him get more experience under his belt first, but he is learning rapidly. A good choice for a general-purpose moderator. –Xoid STFU! 09:12, 30 May 2006 (BST)
  • Vouch - Oh, like anybody didn't see this vote coming. That said, Bob's a smart guy who, if my past experience with him is any guide, will take his modship duties seriously and almost certainly sink far too much time into working on this wiki. A solid choice for modship. --Jimbo Bob ASSU! 09:18, 30 May 2006 (BST)
  • Vouch His Locations List and assistance with other pages, in adition to his regular votes indicate a desire to help and improve the Wiki. Conndrakamod T W! 09:37, 30 May 2006 (BST)
  • Abstain - I'm sitting on the fence on this one. He started of badly by jumping straight into a bunch of drama with Amazing, but he has recently made a huge effort to put that behind him and has done a great job maintaining the wiki. I wouldn't mind him being a moderator but my gut feel is that the drama is still a bit too fresh for me to give him my full support.--The General W! Mod 09:37, 30 May 2006 (BST)
  • Abstain -The general's concerns are my own.--Vista 11:03, 30 May 2006 (BST)
  • Vouch - Bob's FTW! --hagnat mod 18:23, 30 May 2006 (BST)
  • Against - Been very involved in drama in the past, poor wiki behavior, may have changed for the better... or for modship. Would like to see him given more time to help the community in normal capacity. There's no shortage of Mods now. Give it time. -- Amazing 18:38, 30 May 2006 (BST) Additional note: This shouldn't be seen as an attack. I simply cannot vouch without 'seeing how it goes' for a while. -- Amazing 19:43, 30 May 2006 (BST)
  • *I* was the one who suggested him to try for modship, so don't tell me his behaviour changed only because he was aiming to become a mod. --hagnat mod 19:03, 30 May 2006 (BST)
  • Actually, don't tell me what to say or not to say about what I believe could be the case. I don't care if someone who likes him suggested he make a bid for Modship after his miraculous change or not. As I said, give it time and let's see if it keeps up. -- Amazing 19:09, 30 May 2006 (BST)
  • Against - Give it some time. I find trying to jump on the mod bandwagon right after a percieved 'change for the better' to be poor taste regardless of who does it. – Nubis NWO 19:17, 30 May 2006 (BST)
  • Vouch Bob good now. Bob end troubles, civil to Delta Flyer, Bob good now. Boring. -Banana Bear 20:09, 30 May 2006 (BST)
  • Vouch - Recently, I've had contact with Hammero via e-mail, and even though he is apart of a rival group that only wishes to wipe out the CDF (a group I am apart of), he is quite diplomatic and very helpful. My only concern is his involvement in "Project Unwelcome", but nonetheless, he seems quite genuine.(Delta flyer 22:55, 31 May 2006 (BST))
    • I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say anything in this section (so please forgive me if I'm not), but I'd just like to mention that I in no way actually support Project UnWelcome; I'm in it just because I think it's funny, but I wouldn't ever actually follow its guidelines. --Bob Hammero TW!U! 01:01, 1 June 2006 (BST)
      • Which, I should further note, is something that I believe is true (albeit to greater or lesser extents) for pretty much all U! members. It's a parody, not a policy proposal. --Jimbo Bob ASSU! 01:21, 1 June 2006 (BST)
        • I hear that even the bastard who started the whole thing has been trying to be nice. --Quite obviously someone other than Project UnWelcome's founder. 02:26, 1 June 2006 (BST)
        • Some of the "practices" that Project UnWelcome members are "supposed" to follow include lynching n00bs. I don't really see that happening anytime soon. Most of the practices that aren't outright illegal (in RL, that is) are punishable by vandal banning. It's not like Karlsbad didn't put an NPOV section in there. I'm just suprised that so many people fail to read it, or use their commonsense. –Xoid STFU! 02:26, 1 June 2006 (BST)
  • Vouch - All glory to the bob. No seriously, he'd be a god mod. Decisive is a good thing. MaulMachine U! 00:53, 1 June 2006 (BST)
  • Against - I have a personal, unsupported nightmare that I wake up suddenly and half the wiki is banned; there is nothing in the current attitudes of Bob to consider this an actual possibility. However, let it never be said that I don't consider ASS members a cunning sort of folk. --Karlsbad 07:08, 1 June 2006 (BST) For Your Consideration --Karlsbad 14:32, 1 June 2006 (BST)
    • Well, I would tell you that I certainly would never do something as rash as ban half the wiki (even a single user ban I would have to consider seriously, and only if allowed by the moderator guidelines, or in an extremely extenuating circumstance), but you seem to be saying yourself that you don't think I would do that. I am indeed one of two founders of ASS, but I'm not really sure what that has to do with my wiki contributions. If you could clarify what exactly you object to with me, it would help me understand where you're coming from. Thanks. --Bob Hammero TW!U! 08:11, 1 June 2006 (BST)
  • Against - not that I have anything against Bob, but I just don't think he's been around quite long enough on the wiki. Would probably vouch in a couple months of moderate behavior--`mudez U! LCD 14:24, 1 June 2006 (BST)

I'm not sure what the appropriate way to initiate this is, but since the main concerns of most people seem to be that I haven't been distanced enough from my initial drama troubles, and I haven't been around in the community for long enough, I am officially withdrawing my candidacy. I will run again after some more time has passed, and hopefully I will be better received then. I want to thank everyone who vouched for me, and everyone who left me constructive criticism. If anyone has any further questions they would like to discuss with me, I would be happy to answer them on my talk page. Thank you all for your time. --Bob Hammero TW!U! 18:24, 1 June 2006 (BST)
