Gage

Hey guys, This is Gage. I have been around on the wiki since IIRC June. I have made somewhere between 3000-3500 edits. I have contributed heavily to the wiki, including a change the suggestion page rules as well as a major policy change. I handle myself the entire job of cycling the suggestions every day, as evidence of that I submit the history of Previous Days Suggestions.

I have created several very useful templates including:

policy: (Xoid helped a good bit with these)

I report lots of vandals to M/VB and have performed countless reverts. I help keep the Suggestions page under control, and I would love to be a mod.

And now, a poem which I blatantly stole from Uncyclopedia

Ring around the Wiki
Admins, admins, pick me!

  • Vouch - Gage is one of the MORE qualified people from the wiki to be a moderator, and I can't think of any reason NOT to vouch for him. --CaptainM 23:47, 27 September 2006 (BST)
  • VOUCH - Now hand over that gold ol' buddy! --Axe Hack 23:48, 27 September 2006 (BST)
  • Vouch - Gage is a lean, mean anti-vandalism machine, reverting mucho crap in no time at all. He's not perfect, but who is? His heart is in the right place. The only qualm I have with Gage is his unhealthy obsession with MrAushvitz. You have my whole-hearted supported; with the proviso that you specifically and deliberately avoid working on M/VB when a case involves MrAushvitz. –Xoid STFU! 00:12, 28 September 2006 (BST)
    done.--Gage 00:18, 28 September 2006 (BST)
  • Vouch - I don't remember the exact reason, but I know it has something to do with my being impressed with him putting up with the Suggestions area...that takes committment. --SirensT RR 01:28, 28 September 2006 (BST)
  • {{Strike|Vouch - Though I have had my arguments with him before, I say he is good for this. --Gold Blade 01:43, 28 September 2006 (BST)))
Removed vote by permabanned user. --Darth Sensitive Talk W! 04:26, 6 October 2006 (BST)
  • Maybe Quit Pkin' me. :D --Ron Burgundy 02:17, 28 September 2006 (BST) Vouch - For reasons that I think are best expressed with this picture. Seriously, though, Gage has done a lot of work for the wiki and a lot of it is completely thankless, like he said about moving all those suggestions to reviewed/whatever. A willingness to work behind the scenes like that for a long time and without credit shows that he's probably increadibly bored and spends a lot of time on the wiki doing things no one else would. Lets give him the power- the real, ultimate power- to do those things well. --Ron Burgundy 02:39, 28 September 2006 (BST)
If I do, can I get some gold here? Maybe a gold plated vouch?--Gage 02:22, 28 September 2006 (BST)

  • Vouch, is that what you wanted Gage? --CaptainM 02:30, 28 September 2006 (BST)
  • Vouch - No really. I think he'd be a great mod. --Jjames 02:23, 28 September 2006 (BST)
    ZOMFGWTFBBQ?--Gage 02:25, 28 September 2006 (BST)
I don't think you're behavior towards me is in fitting with a moderator, but I'm only one user. I think you've done enough for the wiki as a whole, which in a way includes me, to deserve this distinction. I know you'll make it.Jjames 02:29, 28 September 2006 (BST)
awwww... Jjames... it warms my heart --Gage 02:32, 28 September 2006 (BST)
  • Vouch - Yes Gage has made significant additions in both quantity and quality improvemnts to the Wiki, however Drama seems to follow Gage. Because I see much of this as not being Gage's fault I'll abstain rather than vote against. Due to the outstanding nature of Gage's response with a recent slew of Impersonators editing in the name of Mods, I have to change to a strong vouch. Conndrakamod T CFT 04:01, 2 October 2006 (BST)
It does not follow me! I am no drama whore... I am going to go cut myself now...--Gage 02:46, 28 September 2006 (BST)
  • Against - Just when I made a total turnaround on my suggestion behaviour and recieved many compliments on the matter. Guess who comes out of the woodwork to try to ban me again. Made several promises to "leave me alone" and never kept them. Sorry gage. No problems with you cleaning up messes on the Wiki. But a nuiscance is a nuiscance. If you wre more "middle road" on some things you might be a better mod, but with your it's all for or against.. no I'm not sure. And a good mod has to be able to see both sides, maybe even change his mind based on new information. To your credit, if you do become a mod, you will have many other nuiscances to deal with.. and may find someone like me is not worth your time. MrAushvitz 03:24, 28 September 2006 (BST)
    Cat Shit. That's all Mr A. --CaptainM 03:31, 28 September 2006 (BST)
CaptainM - your trolling on the moderation pages is not welcome on this wiki. --Darth Sensitive Talk W! 04:02, 28 September 2006 (BST)

  • Vouch - Has done a lot of upgrades to the wiki to make it better and more efficient, alot of stuff most are too lazy to do. I only forsee more of the same with him as mod. --Zod Rhombus 03:34, 28 September 2006 (BST)

    Like I said on Xoid's vote, done.--Gage 05:13, 28 September 2006 (BST)
  • Vouch - It's not the fact that drama follows him everywhere but rather the fact that he is able to deal with it in a somewhat "controlled" manner. Youronlyfriend 08:35, 28 September 2006 (BST)
  • Vouch - Gage seems to have alot of contributions to the wiki, nothing but a vouch. Pillsy Hunt! FC! 08:56, 28 September 2006 (BST)

I would like to remind everyone that hagnat is pissed off that I brought him to misconduct for banning a user for absolutely no reason.--Gage 04:31, 29 September 2006 (BST)
Actually, i am pissed off with the entire wiki, not just you. But i am completly against you as a mod, because of the way you behave in the vandal banning and arbitration pages. --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 04:34, 29 September 2006 (BST)
Yeah hagnat, all that reverting vandalism and reporting vandals must really piss you off right?--Gage 04:43, 29 September 2006 (BST)
That was my least favorite ban ever. Cat Shit. --CaptainM 04:33, 29 September 2006 (BST)

  • Vouch You know what, I don't really like your style or your netiquette, but I think we can count on the other mods to keep you in line when it comes to your witch-hunting of certain users (ok, one user). Other than that, you've done way too much for the wiki for me to vote against you. You're a good contributor and you have my vouch. Rheingold 06:52, 30 September 2006 (BST)

  • Vouch Although he needs to cool it a bit with the...thing against Mr.A.-Pesatyel 11:58, 1 October 2006 (BST)
  • Against - Good editor, not a nice person. I just want to say it now so I have a leg up when people start bitching about Gage a couple of months from now. He's added a lot to the community, I don't dispute this, but he's not the type of person I'd like to showcase as "what you should aspire to be". - David Malfisto 15:23, 1 October 2006 (BST)
    • Mods aren't supposed to be good people. They're supposed to edit vandalism. Which gage already does admirably and could only do better with mod status.Jjames 16:23, 1 October 2006 (BST)
      • IF you are a mod and are being a douchebag and back it up with "I can say that and insult you because I'm a mod and you aren't", then you are abusing your moderator status, by implying that mods are exempt from rules, regardless of how much vandalism they have reverted. So yes, a mod DOES have to be a good person. --Gold BladeVote Abstain! 21:28, 1 October 2006 (BST)
        • Keep trolling. Lovely example by the way, but it's fatally flawed. –Xoid STFU! 21:38, 1 October 2006 (BST)
          • I notice you don't mind Jjames trolling. --Gold BladeVote Abstain! 21:59, 1 October 2006 (BST)
            • I don't mind moderators being rude as long as they follow the rules, and I trust Gage to do that. Bob was an ass to me on V/B (and admittedly, I to him, probably more so) but he retracted a banning he gave to another user after a rules discussion. That's good modding. Rheingold 02:29, 2 October 2006 (BST)
            • How is politely satting my opinion trolling? I am confused. We can say pretty much anything we want on the wiki already even if we aren't mods. Mods don't get special rights we don't other than enforcing stated rules. I don't think they're always perfect or totally fair, but who is? Look at it this way, I'm a guy that has pissed off every mod here and still never been warned once. Because I haven't broken a rule. Your problem isn't that the mods hate you, it's that you break rules. Gage would be a good mod. If I recognize this, you should be able to.Jjames 05:30, 2 October 2006 (BST)
              • Trolling is coming in with dumb stuff when nobody asked or wants you to. --Gold BladeVote Abstain! 05:43, 2 October 2006 (BST)
                • Aren't you by your own definition trolling?--Gage 05:44, 2 October 2006 (BST)
                  • And proud of it. --Gold BladeVote Abstain! 21:50, 2 October 2006 (BST)

                        • It isn't over yet. There's nothing preventing either of us from talking to each other before it ends. Besides; he balanced it out by replying. Cyberbob  Talk  22:07, 2 October 2006 (BST)
                          • But it works so much better when you show that what you are arguing for is something you are willing to do. I have been polite by not replying to you. --Gold BladeVote Abstain! 22:09, 2 October 2006 (BST)
    • Wow children, way to spam up the voting page. Why doesn't some nice mod move all this crap over to a talk page? And I'm not mad with Gage for spaming one of my suggestions - I haven't even made a suggestion. But the fact is that Gage is a bully - a fact clear even to MorthBabid below. Will he "get the job done" - probably. Do I want him to do the job? I believe Fuster said it best. I want mods to talk to vandels and be understanding - the newbs of yesterday are tomorrows mods. People can change, and we can get productive members of the wiki community if we're willing to educate people. Gage seems like he'd reverse vandle damage, then just flame n00bs until they hate the wiki. And in the long run, this does more harm than good. David Malfisto 11:27, 7 October 2006 (BST)
