Krazy Monkey

I've been around for a while now, voting on suggestions, keeping an eye out for vandals (there's always someone quicker than me to report them however :P) and updating several pages including The Randoms. I've lost count of the number of edits I've made, about 450ish (several are to correct my spelling) and I've had two Peer Reviewed Suggestions, Zombie Contact Tweak and Library Books. I'm also volunteering for Arbitration but I haven't been asked to do a case yet. I'm a member of Project Welcome as well.
I'd like to become a Mod to help out more in the community. I have had no disagreements on the Wiki (unless you count my accident on the suggestion page a while ago) and have tried to stay out of the whole Ban Amazing thing. I'm willing to help out new editors and have done so a few times.
I'd really like to be a Moderator as I would really like to put more into the Urban Dead Wiki Community as several mods have helped me out along the way and I feel its time I return the favour. Thanks for reading. -- Krazy Monkey W! 22:43, 29 June 2006 (BST) I've decided to withdraw my application. I'll follow the recommendations below and I'll try again in a few months. • So how do you think that becoming a moderator would help you to assist new editors and what kind of things do you think you would do if you did become a moderator that you can't do now? - Jedaz 08:34, 30 June 2006 (BST)
    • Actually I would have to say that I'm Against your bid now that I think about it, nothing personal but you just don't seem to be active enough at the moment. - Jedaz 09:24, 2 July 2006 (BST)
  • Some reservations here… with the delete-o-matic (aka: me) around it wouldn't really be necessary to have any more moderators to deal with the speedy deletions page. Same sort of thing with almost all of the other areas of the wiki — other moderators have those areas well under control. With it looking like Bob Hammero is going to get promoted we'd have another level-headed and calm person to deal with vandal banning (Meaning I could finally avoid that page altogether.) as well as just pitch in. I think all the bases would be covered then. I'm not really sure we need another moderator at the moment.

A replacement for the many moderators who have seemingly given up on UD or have gone into semi-retirement would useful though… maybe some "reinforcements" would be a good idea, it'd be great if there was more room for current staff to take a small hiatus every now and then. I am still unsure of your suitability. Do you have a short list of contributions, 'cause I don't want to dig through Special:Contributions/Krazy Monkey.

  • It would be useful to see a list of your major contributions (as per Xoid's request) before I make any judgement as to your suitability. –Bob Hammero ModB'cratTA 17:34, 30 June 2006 (BST)
Ok, my main contribution is The Randoms, I've also contributed to the suggestions page (here and here. There is more I've done but those are the main things. I'd be willing to do more to help out in the community. -- Krazy Monkey W! 17:58, 30 June 2006 (BST)
I don't think that there's any reason to set a maximum number of moderators. There will always be times when more moderator assistance is needed, whether it's because some of the mods are unavailable, have left the wiki, aren't aware of new problems, or just aren't able to handle the problems for whatever reason.
That said, I would need to see more evidence of your work on the wiki before I can give you my full support. It looks like you've gotten started, but I think you need more time and an active presence on some of the more maintenance-based pages (e.g., Vandal Banning, Arbitration, Speedy Deletions, Deletions, etc.), and/or large contributions to some of the Current Projects (e.g., the Locations Pages Project). –Bob Hammero ModB'cratTA 23:51, 30 June 2006 (BST)
