SgtBop

I've been here for about 3 and a half to 4 months now, and I do various sorts of maintenance. I worked, and slowly continue to, on the Pages Needing Location Block category, working to finish it up, along with looking for new ways for the MHG hospital list to be displayed. I designed This Page and all of its subpages. My edit count is reaching about 1000 now. I'd like to become a Sysop.

  • Auoris - well i think sgtbop would be a good sysop because he is ALWAYS on the wiki. every time i talk to him he is doing something on here and its always done quite well. -- Auoris 01:53, 2 July 2007 (BST)
  • Hi SgtBop. How many do you think you've completed on the Category:Pages_Needing_Location_Block page? Also, I took at look at the MHG page, doesn't that just depend on Groups registering (where they are running)? How do you help at that page? armareum 02:05, 2 July 2007 (BST)
I didn't keep track of the exact number on the Category. I had up to H done, but then some more were added before that. By Helping on the MHG page I just mean that I'm looking to change it up so that the entire list isn't just one list, but broken up by suburb. I haven't posted it yet, or even seen if they like it, but I am working on it. --SgtBopTalk|Maris Viridis 02:09, 2 July 2007 (BST)

  • Hey there SgtBop, I'm not sure who you exactly are and many people around here don't know either. So we can make it clearer who we are dealing with, I'll ask a few questions I got asked the first time I ran for Sysop.
  1. What Sysop duties do you see yourself focusing on, as a general rule?
  2. How do you react to criticism online?
  3. What is your current attitude to the Sysops, as a group?
  4. Why do you think you need be a Sysop?

I'd also like to point out that your edits are closer to 750. Not being picky, just clearing things up. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 02:42, 2 July 2007 (BST)

Only 750... ah. Makes sense. My bad. And
  1. I'd generally focus on cleaning, keeping things were they belong, out of where they dont (For example, some users just copy template code and paste it on their page, making it appear in categories it doesn't belong)
  2. Criticism is a fact of life. I make mistakes and there are ways I can improve on that, as long as the critic is being respectable, of course.
  3. The sysops keep this place from being... crazier than it already is. I like 'em, and they seem friendly enough.
  4. I need to be a Sysop, mostly so I can delete pages I don't need (or others) without the large wait on the deletions page.
And I'm not known, I know that. But I'm not just random.wikiuser. -- SgtBopTalk|Maris Viridis 02:55, 2 July 2007 (BST)
Hmmm, ok so why do you not need to wait for deletions? I mean, if it's going to be deleted, does it matter when? As far as I know, Sysops also need to go though deletions to get rid of things other than in their user space. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 03:26, 2 July 2007 (BST)
