I originally wanted to wait for monday to put it up exactly 2 months since the original bid, but I'll have a night appointment on monday and probably won't get around to do any wikiing.

So, yeah, Shortround. For his own reasons to get promoted, just look up here and let me get on with my own words.

He has kept up his gnoming activity and has since also spreaded out to the opinion pages. The main complaint of him being too new should have been alleviated given the time that has passed since.

Furthermore, while it technically shouldn't influence sys-op promotions, our ability to get stuff done has become weak. Sys-op activity has heavily declined in the last few months, and even the more active ops don't get things done daily anymore. We are in dire need of bolstering our ranks with some new faces and people who are willing to carry some serious gnoming workload, and I think Shortround is by now ready for that. -- Spiderzed █ 18:15, 13 May 2012 (BST)

Vouch - He still has some quirks, but those can be worked out, and I'm confident he'll be a good addition to the team. There's no doubt that his work has been great these last few months and that he's really sought to address the concerns that were voiced in his previous nomination. He also handled the previous rejection extremely well, which speaks well for him and his maturity. In fact, I was even considering putting him up for nomination myself, so I was glad to see that Spider had done so.
Despite all my praise, I'm a tad concerned by his overeagerness for the position (i.e. something wrong in his head, as the saying goes) and would offer some minor suggestions. First, be careful that you don't let it go to your head. People who are overeager are oftentimes so because they see the position as a status symbol. Don't be that way. Second, you've been playing the role of crowd-pleaser for the last two months to reach this point, which is fine, but be careful that you don't play that role in your rulings. We need correct rulings, not popular ones. I doubt that either of these will actually ever be problems, but they're things I'd suggest you be aware of and take care to avoid anyway. —Aich on— 20:00, 13 May 2012 (BST)

Last bid taught me much, specifically about the scope of the role of sysop here. Stuff like the fact that sysops are seen as having an important role in terms of drama and shouldn't solely be administrative and the fact that, as a direct result, it pays to know both the community and the game quite well so that you can deal with those issues fairly as they arise.
