DYK Template

I'm thinking there should be a Template:Did You Know template that would be included on this page, main page and the ComPort. Changes the the current DYK would only need to be an edit to the template. Mmm? --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 21:21, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Nominations Procedure

We've got a rough procedure, can we just flesh out a bit more? First off, do we need a "submitted by" line? If we do, it shouldn't get transferred to the template at any rate. Next, just what happens with "disputed" DYKs? Can any user just remove them, should they get transferred to somewhere on this talk page for a quick check and discussion? If it's just a fact check, I guess a "submitted by" line would be helpful so the user who can back up the fact can be traced easily in order to provide the reference. Would it be permissible to allow editing of current nominations, for example to add links or make minor corrections? Finally, 10 a week? I hope I'm just being pessimistic but that seems steep, maybe 5 or 6? Guess we could see how it pans out. --  RoosterDragon  17:57, 30 March 2009 (BST)

The "submitted by" part was just crediting you, normally a simple signature will due. It won't go on the template. Perhaps we could have a "ready" spot for whatever 5 - 10 DYKs to be added to the template. That way, disputed nominations could sit for a while for people to try and fix it up. If discussion dies, it could be moved to the talk page or to an archive. Editing of a DYK is fine (like adding a link, fixing a typo) though if there is an alternate DYK someone wants to propose, they could do so underneath by ALT 1, ALT 2 etc. They do this on Wikipedia. --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 18:10, 30 March 2009 (BST)

Great First Week

I liked the first week's worth of DYK's, and it's good to see more of them coming. We should start getting back into adding some more or we might fall behind. When I wake up tomorow I think I'll add it onto Wiki News template.

Erm....

Password was a 42 level character once. But he was used to test the 'move outside the border' bug, which used to cause all skills and exp to be erased once kevan had a chance to unstuck him. Yes i do recall the purchasing of brain rot by you :P So someone/s levelled him to 42 (not you or me) then tested the leaving malton bug then he went back to lvl 1 and us amongst others got him back up to 43 where i presume he is today?--xoxo 09:19, 10 June 2009 (BST)

About the list...

I've been thinking about updating the template (it hasn't been updated in over 15 months, unless the definition of week has just recently changed or we're on a very slowly-revolving planet), even though I'm relatively new to the wiki. I'm here to ask how I should go about it. Judging from what I've seen, the DYKs put in the template are removed from the complete list, right? So I have to put them back on the complete list and move (not copy) the ones I wanna put into the template, is that correct? -- †  talk ? f.u. 15:35, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

I think you move the current DYK (from the template) to the complete list, then pick 10 from the nominations spot and put those into the current DYK (all of them are good). --  AHLGTG THE END IS NIGH! 17:19, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
