You are inside the Portman Building, an elongated building with offices. Doors lead to rooms off hallways. Dried flecks of blood mark walls. The building has been lightly barricaded.
- You wander down one of the doorways, down a hall. Nothing presents itself (and nor do you present anything, being vapid to the rooms and halls). For the first time, if it is the first time (you are not sure), you do not have any idea what to do. There is nothing pressing at you, telling you to go that way, or this, or sideways; or making you do something unusual. Usual things tend to progressively merge together, when usual things become more usual, until they are so together and so usual that they happen without happening. You happen over top of the usual.
You lie down on the floor. Black-outs have served to propel the plot before (not that there is a plot) so you decide to induce one. It ends up being a nap; or maybe you merely shut your eyes, forget your hearing, let your brain skip.
