Matt Spencer

Matt was born and raised in Burnley, Lancashire. He studied chemistry and molecular physics at the University of Nottingham from 2002 to 2005, and after graduating he moved to Malton to work for NectoTech as a lab assistant. Not long after he started work there, though, the outbreak occurred, and people began to be evacuated. Approximately six months after he arrived Matt found himself being shipped out again.

However, that is not where his story ends. He became separated from his convoy, and did not manage to get outside the city before it was locked down. Lost and with no idea what to do next, he made his way back to his place of work, the Marks Building. There, he met up with a small group of his fiends who had also failed to escape the quarantine, and they formed the Peppardville Defense Force. Matt served as the head scientist (and later as joint commander) of the PDF for over 8 months, until he and his brother (Vamp X) disbanded the group and joined the Creedy Defense Force, as they were the only surviving members.

As members of the CDF Matt and his brother led the Peppardville Homeland Defense Squad. By the time that unit was retired in late 2006 Matt had lost his brother, but not his desire to help survivors in and around Peppardville, and became Co-Leader of the CDF's new medic squad, Team CLERIC.

Matt the zombie

As above, only after becoming separated from his convoy he did not meet up with any friends, and was killed by a zombie. Though he was soon revived, this experience left a mark on him, and he began to help zombies in the area by healing them when they were injured. Soon the desire to feast on his fellow survivors' flesh became overpowering, and he ran blindly out into the street to once more join the ranks of the living dead.

In his wild dash to get away from the safehouse he had been staying in, Matt managed to get almost all the way across the city. When he eventually stopped and was devoured he awoke to unlife in Arkham, and joined the ranks of the Plague. He has since migrated all over Malton with them, but has recently parted with what is left of the horde in order to join the REV-Reservists.

Matt the orangutan

Matt the orangutan led a fairly ordinary life. He had a good job and an active social life, and things were really looking up. He couldn't really remember much of his past before a couple of years ago, but his colleagues at NecroTech assured him that it was nothing out of the ordinary, and he had no reason not to trust them. After all, they were his friends, right?

However, when the zombie outbreak occurred, things started to take a turn for the worse. As his human colleagues were gradually evacuated from the city over the next twelve months, no thought seemed to be spared for the lowly lab technician, until he was eventually left to man the place by himself. He arrived at work one day to find a DNA extractor, a book on its operation, and a note saying he should monitor the situation from where he was and update NecroNet with his findings.

Well, enough was enough. If NecroTech weren't going to help him, then he decided he'd find someone who would. He wandered for a whole day before he eventually found a place that seemed somewhat familiar and inviting, a place that seemed like a second home to him, though he couldn't recall ever being there before; the zoo. After dying and being revived several times trying to collect the data NecroTech wanted, he soon leant that he should stay away from the zombies, and his former employer's orders were forgotten as he took up a role reviving those that hadn't yet learnt to stay off the streets...
