History

Hawkstrap had been working her way up the military ranks for a number of years. She was forced to leave home at 16 and found that she had no other choice but to seek refuge in the amy, which had previously treated her well as a member of the Macclesbury Cadets.

Her hunched back and dark yet pallid expression made her seem double her actual age, so no questions were asked when she signed up for full-time training.

Under the military's control she began to prosper. She rekindled her interest in becoming a doctor and began to train as a medic. She trained alongside Erin, who later became her best friend. For Erin's last recorded birthday, Hawkstrap (although she was not then known as Hawkstrap) gave her a handmade onyx and silver bracelet with the inscription 'Rinny'. No-one quite understands what the meaning behind these words are, but we can gather that there is quite a lot of meaning in them. Months passed and it was realised that Hawk and Erin were building a very strong relationship indeed, they were seperated into different regiments and it seemed as if their timetables had been structured to have negligible time free at the same time. They refused to accept this as the end of their relationship, but it was a noticeable strain on them. Secrets began to be kept from each other as both were suffering abuse as a result of their contraversial relationship. It was decided that, under such circumstances, they could no longer do their love for each other justice, and it was agreed that their relationship be postponed until they had acheived acceptance from the ever laxing TA sect.

Hawk was out training in Malton's surrounding countryside when she was informed of the crisis within the city. She was told that she would be driving a truck to evacuate survivors. In a bizarre twist of fate, the post was disassigned at the last minute. Hawkstrap thought nothing more of it. The truck collected passengers and was not heard from again. after several radio attempts, Hawkstrap and her regiment went to recover it. The truck was found overturned in a laybay and with severe damage to the truck's doors and windows. The cargo hold contained nothing but blood and small splinters of bone. A limbless body was found in the front seat of the truck. It was so badly mutilated that a series of tests had to be taken to truly identify the body, but Hawk immediately knew that it was her Rinny.

This event lead her to lose all her remaining respect for the army. She left their services with the aim of joining another group and ensuring that such negligence of the company would never happen again. She spent two days putting her hair into dreadlocks as she did not expect there to be appropriate washing facilities whilst in the midst of the invasion. It was then that she changed her name to 'Hawkstrap' and therefore detached herself from any contact with her previous army life. This was a shame as further forensic evidence surrounding the vehicle showed that there had been a small engraving- perhaps from a key or bracelet - with the words 'don't forget bluebell, don't go to Malton'. One could imagine that, had Hawkstrap stayed on, she would have been able to understand the message and aid the forensic team. As it stands, the case was close two weeks after the evidence was found.

Hawkstrap drove into the suburbs of Malton joined 'The Safety Patrol' not long afterwards. At present she wears a heavily customised army uniform and heavy duty army-issued boots (she had no other clothes at the time). There is a large 'medic' symbol burned into the skin of her back as part of an unofficial initiation into the medic sect. This symbol is also printed on her uniform and her mind. She continues her role as a medic and is especially giving to those within her Patrol and around the suburb of Dulston.

After settling into her role within the city, she has come across many who do not appreciate life. Her experiences have made this absolutely intolerable to her, and she cannot see why someone so selfish to decide to take away a human life in such troubled times can ever be forgiven. Her loss has made her vengeful.
