Bishop Healy was once merrily round in both cheek and belly but anxious years in hiding have left his fat hanging loose off the bones. He's aged mercilessly since that May long ago—a man of sixty who looks more like eighty, with dark-rimmed, watery eyes and wisps of snow white hair sticking out around his drooping ears.
