Sam Popham

Sam has been in Malton for a very long time. Many didn't take notice to the man in a coma in the hospital just on the wrong side of the wall. That building was basically a safe zone since the only people there were those who couldn't do anything anymore. Basically they were dead weight, but no one wanted to just leave them.

The zombies may have come and ransacked the building, but none ever took notice to the young man that laid in the bed unresponsive. No one knew exactly what happened, and those who guessed were usually passerby's.

Well the story came out the day he woke up...

Sam was part of an anti-terrorist squad for Malton. His work was his passion and he put his all into it. He captured a lot of terrorists, murderers, and stopped a lot of crimes. He was one of the best in the business.

He eventually went into a slump though when things hit closer to home. His fiancee was caught in the middle of a terrorist bombing. She was murdered by a group of terrorists who attacked a mall she was at while on vacation.

The local law enforcement would allow him to be part of the investigation. He was eventually sent home but he never left. He stayed and used his experience, some interrogation techniques, and a lot of money for bribes to get the information he wanted.

By doing all of this he ended up hurting many innocent people and killing the men responsible. The ATS dishonorably discharged him from the squad and tried him for murder. Then the quarantine took affect.

Sam was to be transported out of the city but his transport was hit by another car. He climbed out of the broken car and made his way through the city. Unknown to him, he had a concussion and when he went to sleep that night he slipped into a coma.

He was found a few house later and when the saviors realized he was unresponsive they brought him to a hospital and that is where he rested for five years.
