I've been more-or-less retired from the game for a while. These pages are left for character reference, as well as for other behind-the-scenes stuff I'm working on.

Note that while Tom is by far my best-known character, he is not the only one.

Thomas Chardon

Tom is the oldest of the Chardon siblings. A soft-spoken leader, both Rob and Kris often look to him for guidance. He is gifted with being able to see subtle patterns in the world around him, and he draws conclusions about the future based on those patterns. More often than not, his conclusions are eerily accurate. In spite of his talents, he has difficulty maintaining a positive self-image, as he constantly compares himself to some perfect, unattainable ideal. He has unusually sensitive eyes, which sometimes works to his disadvantage; he is easily blinded by bright flashes of light, which usually leave him crippled by a debilitating migraine.

A former computer science major at a nearby university, Tom was enjoying the summer break before the apocalypse. He'd found an apartment he could afford in northwest Malton, and he'd landed a job doing server maintenance work for NecroTech, a research firm based in the area.

Of course, that was before the zombies.

He spent the next year or so after the outbreak on the run, relying on rumors and hearsay to determine where to move next. It wasn't really "living", anymore, but it was more life than the zombies had, and he didn't want to lose it. Eventually, he found the MFU, which, in his mind, offered the only real hope of stemming the tide of zombies. Respected for his excellent leadership and communication skills, Tom's ultimate goal is to take back what was lost-- for everybody.

Tom, along with his younger brother and sister, is also part of an ongoing research initiative called Project New Hope. For security, safety, and legal reasons, little more information is publicly available regarding this initiative.
