Character Description

This young Canadian man's intention was to come to Malton for university, then head back home. Now, he has no idea whether he'll ever see his home again. A student of history, he constantly adds to his account of the Malton Outbreak.

He was in Pitneybank during the outbreak of the zombie plague and hid there for several months. Eventually, he heard about a group of survivors in Lukinswood, and ventured over to meet them. The group would later name itself the Knights of the Burnt Bridge. Toffey's current role is recording the group's operations, as well as the general role of defending the weak in Malton.

For months after joining the Knights of the Burnt Bridge, Toffey was able to avoid joining the living dead. During the Lukinswood operation, in September of 2009, he fell for the first time. Since then, his fear of death has subsided. He has died and risen again many times and is content to be living or dead. He does not die willingly, or without a fight, but Toffey does not despair when he finds himself amongst the dead. In Malton, there is no true death. That realization has allowed him to achieve a deep sense of inner peace.

In the Spring of 2010, the Knights of the Burnt Bridge all but disappeared. Most members have either severed contact with the order, joined another group, or perished. Toffey continues to act as a knight, maintaining his vow to protect the weak and protect Malton.
