WCDZ

Voter Blahblahblah

We of the grand orginazation the World Conspiracy to Destroy Zombies (the old and all powerful WCDZ) have found it in our hearts to let you associate with us. The new social will be held at Caiger Mall, Saturday at 0:00 GMT. You will be required to be there to swear your oath and to offer your first-born to the Shadow Lord of the Conspiracy Zaruthustra. Welcome cronie Blahblahblah (and don't forget to fill in your profile on the page.) --Vista 22:19, 31 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Welcome new goon #602951. We would like to congratulate you on your new position in the WCDZ. As an assorted thug your duties will include 1) Crushing our enemies. 2) Driving them before us. 3) Hearing the lamentations of their women. 4) Cleaning the break room. We hope you enjoy your tenure here! --Zaruthustra 23:41, 4 Feb 2006 (GMT)

TheTeeHeeMonster

Actually, that is the one serious suggestion on the page. I'm more than welcoming ideas for it. My goal is 5 lines of text for every possible action, and I'm not even nearly there yet. --TheTeeHeeMonster 21:10, 13 Jan 2006 (GMT)

No, I actually am serious. I don't pick on new guys to the wiki unless they make super-moronic suggestions, have horrible grammar and spelling, and/or flame excessively. I'd love having some help on the suggestion. You can send text to me over AIM (TheTeeHeeMonster), MSN (TheTeeHeeMonster@hotmail.com), or put them in the voting section on the WCDZ page. --TheTeeHeeMonster 21:24, 13 Jan 2006 (GMT)
You. Are. Brilliant. It's going to take me a while to read all these, but damn they look good. Nice job. Edit: Ok, read it. My only problem is the use of the word bullet. Shotguns fire shells or slugs, but not bullets. The gun nuts would tear us apart for that.--TheTeeHeeMonster 22:53, 14 Jan 2006 (GMT)
My only problem is the Church searches. Some of them are fairly offensive. --TheTeeHeeMonster 23:22, 16 Jan 2006 (GMT)
It's cool. And I was editing the suggestions during the same time you messaged me about them. What a coincidence, eh? We don't have to worry about cathedral texts; they can just share the Church ones. Gonna get the power station ones done, but not sure what items you can find there. To the search probabilities page! Away! --TheTeeHeeMonster 17:03, 18 Jan 2006 (GMT)
Thanks for all of your hard work. This has been a crazy week for me, so I've gotten next to nothing done. Girl problems, resolving girl problems, mid-terms, finally got my 360. It's been a bunch of rapid ups and downs. --TheTeeHeeMonster 22:51, 22 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Hey, should we retract the suggestion and make a new one to include the ability to turn it off if wanted? --TheTeeHeeMonster 22:33, 27 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Just wondering: are you going to Caiger? At last count there's nearly a thousand scanned zombies in the area, and doubtless there are more that we haven't tracked yet. We need every man we can get. --TheTeeHeeMonster 00:02, 4 Feb 2006 (GMT)

You could have tried asking for my profile. --TheTeeHeeMonster 23:34, 4 Feb 2006 (GMT)

Maintenance/Guard Suggestions

I've noticed that! I think both suggestions are fair but some people really want to defend being able to attack anonymously. I think they're going to die. Could you help me out and ask anyone you know sympathetic to fair gameplay to come lend their Keep vote to them? Unless we want this to be "Biased Zombie Group Suggestion Page" we can't let people come and override votes by drawing in their forum buddies. We'll have to fight fire with fire. --Jon Pyre 03:38, 25 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Thank you for explaining our case. Three cheers for democracy! --Jon Pyre 20:59, 25 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Jak Rhee

It's a principal thing. Im trying really hard to eliminate the editing of suggestions and frankly you cant have a bendable rule liek "only MJAOR edits need to be resubmitted" 'Major' is too undefined. SO I go by only spelling and grammatical errors can be edited. Thats just my opinion --Jak Rhee 02:51, 5 Feb 2006 (GMT)

It got moved to the archives before voting could really get very far, where it now languishes. --Jak Rhee 20:37, 5 Feb 2006 (GMT)

Omega2

Good work on the Dart Rifle suggestion, but don't have any hopes it'll even remotely pass. The wiki is full of users with set opinions on how UD should be (even though it is, and I'll say once again, still an open Beta), and nothing that goes against their thoughts will ever pass. Horde-mentality, maybe? --Omega2Talk 20:58, 13 Feb 2006 (GMT)

Various Hipsters

Would you look at and review My Knife Sugestion? I'd greatly appreciate your ideas on the subject. Thank you for your time. --Matthew Stewart 23:29, 21 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Thanks for the encouragement and I have taken off Dark Science for a rethink - will start off on the Suggestions discussion page - look forward to your input - have fun!--KyleTravis 02:05, 22 Jan 2006 (GMT)

  • Blahblahblah, if possible please check my revision (refer to EDIT) for the suggested idea Barricade Status. If this alteration is more to your liking feel free to recast your vote. If not, then you can let your current Kill vote stand. -- Mobius187 6:19 PM, 18 Feb 2006 (EST)

Flavor text

actually, i am all against more flavor text. Have you ever hear the expression 'less is more' ? Well, by having only a few lines to read one can spent the 50 AP real quickly. If i have to carefully read 10 lines of text just to find out that i found nothing in a search, that just annoy me to hell. I enjoy playing UD at work cuz it doesnt take me too much time to spend all AP from both my alts, and i dont want that to be changed. My reply for you on the Suggestion page was more of a humorous reply than a serious, but now that i see more and more people voting kill i have no reason to change my vote. --hagnat 01:54, 28 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Re - Notes 1 & 2: I made a 're' in my vote adding that I basically don't see this suggestion as aiding anything, and w/r/t role playing it would actually have a negative effect, being a crutch to creativity. With that said, it would imho be great if everyone could create their own customized flavor texts that would be sent to other players. So if you, YYY, missed an attack on my one of my characters, XXX (a character that was a clown before the zombification), we would both get my characters flavor text: (standard text then)"the funny faces made by XXX left you too distracted" or if you succedeed in your attack, it would be up to you, maybe we would get something like: (standard text then)"albeit with the skill of a little girl YYY was able to leave you bleeding and wimpering, sorry you ever messed with them". Of course then you could have anything you wanted for searches, etc.. What do you think? --Pwaz 10:54, 30 Jan 2006 (GMT)

I am new to the suggestions thing, thanks for the advice. How would I go about getting numbers that more people would agree with though?

Should I?

D'ya think I should make an alternate too just in case?Kripcat 03:20, 18 February 2006 (GMT)

Jon Pyre

I put a new flare suggestion up. This would allows people to select the angle they want to fire the flare at and has a lot more options than my old suggestion with the drop-down menu. --Jon Pyre 18:57, 19 February 2006 (GMT)

Yeah, it'd be great to come up with a way to make flares useful. Flare angle and flare color could work very well together if we brainstorm. --Jon Pyre 20:22, 19 February 2006 (GMT)

While it wouldn't be completely general use like colors would provide flare trajectory also can help players not in a group. I could enter a safehouse and announce that I'm going to fire a flare at 27 degrees if the mall is under attack and at 37 degrees if there are no zombies there, etc. This would allow players to communicate with flares by talking with other people first. Of course having general colors wouldn't be bad too, it'd would make flares even more useful. --Jon Pyre 23:05, 19 February 2006 (GMT)

It sounds good but I have the feeling it'd get a lot of kill votes because some people dislike the idea of manufacturing anything. I think we need to figure out a way to implement colors and something else without actually manufacturing anything, if only for flavor reasons. --Jon Pyre 22:13, 20 February 2006 (GMT)

I do want to work on flares further, though I think I might wait until the current flare suggestions we put up leave voting though, just to see if anyone has some new comments and to prevent people from confusing different versions. But I think there's definitely a perfect version out there waiting for us to find it. --Jon Pyre 18:17, 23 February 2006 (GMT)

I didn't mean to cause any offence --Agent 24601 21:20, 20 February 2006 (GMT)

BTW, do you have msn messenger? You can add me at Shadowslasher_123@hotmail.com

Just being friendly --Agent 24601 21:34, 20 February 2006 (GMT)

ah, just checking - some people are bastards here, and didn't know if you were just fucking with me. No, I don't have MSN - I have yahoo. You been playing Urban Dead long? - You seem fairly new to the suggestions page (as in, just started seeing your username recently). --Blahblahblah 21:42, 20 February 2006 (GMT)

Actually, I just started Urban Dead the 16th. Since I'm on my winter break from school, I had plenty of time to read the wiki and get used to the game. You can see what I've done so far hereand here. I want to become part of the Urban Dead community, though.

Cool! When my group actually becomes useful, I'll be sure to ask an alliance with you. I'm trying to put alot of work into my group (the different pages, the website, etc). I'm using the Dunell Hills Police Department as a model cause they, y'know, own. (BTW my character needs alot of work but is slowly growing, still level 1 (his name is Agent 24601) --Agent 24601 22:15, 20 February 2006 (GMT)

I still don't like the idea; barricades fall fast enough as is. --Agent 24601 17:37, 23 February 2006 (GMT)

Random junk

Just FYI, in reply to your comment here: Suggestions#Signaling_2.3...Actually all my characters are mostly human. I play three survivors and one zombie. So, i can't be accused of being a "zombie only" player. :-P Bentley Foss 20:53, 20 February 2006 (GMT)

Flare suggestions

Sorry I didn’t reply right away something was up with the wiki. My main problem with the trajectory thing is that it seems too nitty gritty, too specific, e.g when your barricading a room, you cant select what you barricade with or when your axeing a zed you cant choose to axe off its arm. That’s why I killed it, I couldn't vote Keep on a suggestion I wasn't 100% happy with.

Votage =P

Ok, cheers for the heads up on that suggestion, and for telling me reasons for you withdrawal - just so you know, I think the suggestion is solid, and I'm not going to change it (will put this in bold at the end of the description in a moment) --HVLD 02:56, 24 February 2006 (GMT)

I see where you're coming from =) Like I said - no more changes coming now, I promise, plus (at the current rate) its doing pretty well (not meaning to be cocky, but the facts at the moment show it to be so).

Throwing up? Nonono, that won't do! Anyway...no more changes coming =) TAG!--HVLD 03:08, 24 February 2006 (GMT)

Woo, unanimous Keeps =) --HVLD 03:10, 24 February 2006 (GMT) Grim s is a very...Grim person...most (if not all) of his votes that I've seen are kill...=S Anyway, very tired, must sleep, g'night, and thanks for the tips 'n' stuff =) Probably drop you a message tomorrow sometime--HVLD 03:19, 24 February 2006 (GMT)

Hmm, one kill vote now, but another 2 keeps. I feel that kill is unjustified =( oh well...--HVLD 17:52, 24 February 2006 (GMT)

Kung Fu

'S ok, I'm not going to submit any good ideas, Because when you think of it, People are really stupid. they'll only vote for ideads that give them a direct advantage. I found out, according to a bunch of gathered data, that most of those voters were zombies at Caiger. So, I'll just Submit this, to make everyone shut up, Because it asks how peple can learn this skll with no body to teach them Everytime someone submits this.

Kung Fu: A beam shot from outer space hits Malton, turning everybody into Asians. Suddenly, everyone also knows Kung Fu. (Just like real asians). Zombies also know Zomb Fu, Where they can break off a fellow zombies limbs and use them as Nun Chucks. -10% on attacks if Pirates are present.

Aberrant Form

Just wanted to mention I posted my reply to your thoughts here. While I don't feel that it will threaten raise barricades as much, considering Body Slam, I still think that the main thing keeping me from voting Keep is the Pry skill. Well, read what I wrote and feel free to point out any addition miscalculations I might have made as I'm unfamiliar with zombie skills. --Mobius186 4:47 PM, 24 February 2006 (EST)

  • First off, I will apologize for my "speed reading". I noticed though you never did mention I had totally messed up on the zombie vs. barricade math. It seems that Body Slam was a straight 50% chance, not +50% as I had first thought. At the same time I found it disturbing that it wasn't listed as a +%, but rather allowed any zombie who purchased the skill to have his barricade attack % upped to 50%. Still, I suppose it's still better than +50%. That said, you mentioned that "...their mechanics are different, and it would be a matter of using one or the other...", but Pry is not an action skill. Rather it's a bonus, as the Pry description reads: "...When this zombie makes a successful attack against a barricade VSB or lesser, it gains an additional 10% to its success rate with attacks against those barricades until it looses it's grasp...". In that sense it is like Tangling Grasp in that it sounds like it is automatically added to any "barricade attack" action. Also, I'm never had complaints against Aberrant Form, but rather Pry, which to me was another skill being packaged with the first, but not a part of it. If it had just been Aberrant Form I would have voted Keep, but Pry is worded loosely enough that I feel it will add to Body Slam (or skills like it that could appear later). If Pry were an action skill, like Body Slam, then I would know for certain they couldn't be merged. While I have nothing against given zombies a slightly higher barricade attack %, I like to consider the big picture for possible later additions. But that's just my opinion. --Mobius186 7:14 PM, 24 February 2006 (EST)

FYI - You forgot to remove the strikeout from your vote on "Security Cameras". That's your idea right? Man, I was totally going to suggest that same idea. Not sure about the Rewind. While it sounds interesting people might complain it's using up server space (log file for each building). Unless that's done already... how does UD tell you what messages get displayed when you sign in? Anywho I'm confused why so many people voted Kill on that idea. Until we find a use for generators and fuel there's going to be a glut on them, hell I have one and I just keep it for emergencies... like I'm sure lots of NT Scientists do and it only takes one. Can you imagine what would happen if players could drop multiple generators and fuel them? There would be like 50+ in each NT building... crazy. Limiting it doesn't really solve the problem Kevan has to find other disposable uses for them so players will drop them in buildings other than just NT Buildings and Hospitals. --Mobius186 8:09 PM, 24 February 2006 (EST)
    • Personally I liked my suggestions for improvements on the security camera. I wanted first of all to simplify the matter by having Security Cameras at every building. Also Security Cameras would cost 2 AP to use (same as stepping outside and coming back, so it's the minimum AP cost as I see it)
Survivor PROS
  1. Survivors can look outside even if the barricades are above VS+2 (no long distance traveling)
  2. Survivors are not put in any danger, especially during a zombie siege
Survivor CONS:
  1. Security Cameras require a working Portable Generator to function (i.e. like NecroNet). The portable generator can be sabotaged or run out of fuel.
  2. Only shows just outside the building, but NO adjacent blocks. Unlike a survivor who spends 2 AP to actually go outside and back (view 3x3 grid view; all adjacent blocks).
What do you think? Personally I wasn't a big fan of the Rewind part of the suggestion, but I can see it as possibly useful to identifying PKers or GKers... or tracking players. Still I'm not sure what trouble that would cause for the servers storing the logs for each building/location. --Mobius186 1:17 AM, 25 February 2006 (EST)

Deleted Votes?

I can't say why people are removing my votes, although you'll notice that sometimes other people complain about their votes disappearing too. If I were a bit more suspicious, I'd probably name a person or two who I'd imagine was responsible. However, I'm not that suspicious and I'm going to bet it's some sort of database error....maybe. Bentley Foss 20:15, 25 February 2006 (GMT)

Security Cameras (Redux)

Ok, I took your advice and posted my version of the Security Cameras suggestion here. I wonder how many people will blindly vote DUPE even after I posted that lengthy text about it in my vote... Anywho, feel free to vote. Also, do you wanna bet on whether Grim s will vote Kill on it? My review of past votes shows him voting Kill on a lot of pro-survivor ideas. Hmmm. Maybe I'm just too suspicious. --Mobius186 9:50 PM, 25 February 2006 (EST)

  • EDIT - HAHAHA, I never bothered to check his profile, who knew he was the leader of the Drunken Dead? Well that still doesn't mean he arbitrarily votes Kill on every pro-survivor idea, right? I bet he has lots of moral integrity. And stuff. --Mobius186 9:50 PM, 25 February 2006 (EST)
    • Yeah, you're right. That's why when I see people vote one way or the other I don't blindly declare "Oh you're only voting against my idea because you're pro-(player type)!". You just can't really know their reasons for voting Kill, although it struck me that Grim_s had a lot of reason to vote against pro-survivor ideas since he has no productive survivors (his only living character is a PKer). Anyway, that hardly matters as this is a hot potato idea as is, so I'm not expecting much. Ironically, my research shows 2 "look outside from inside buildings" suggestions did pass into peer review already. Binoculars just might appear one day and give more reason to tall buildings other than "Jump out window". Heh. Still, considering NecroNet I doubt it will be as good as the original suggestion or each person would have their own NecroNet in their pocket, without a need for a generator or NT Building. --Mobius186 4:58 PM, 26 February 2006 (EST)
