South Park Images

erm... south park images should be linked to South Park Studios or Comedy Central ? --People's Commissar Hagnat [cloned] [mod] 07:37, 9 September 2007 (BST)

Comedy Central, I think. They own the rights to the episodes. --Cyberbob DORIS CGR U! 07:37, 9 September 2007 (BST)

Some wiki help

I just uppdated my userpage and somehow the UD WIKI navigationbar (left side) moved down under the page. Have you any idea as of why it could do this? -- Karth  FoD 01:53, 18 October 2007 (BST)

Looks fine to me... it's probably because of your browser (if you're using IE, it can display pages weirdly) or your resolution. --Cyberbob DORIS CGR U! 07:57, 18 October 2007 (BST)

Insert Title Here

A loooooong time ago, when I was about 3 days old to the wiki, I got a warning on my userpage. No links, no information, nothing. Just YOU FUCKING VANDAL-cyberbob. I was so new I didn't know where to go to ask, what a warning even did, or what was considered vandalism. And now that I look at that warning in my talk page history, its been driving me insane...What the hell did I vandalize?--Wooty 06:14, 30 September 2007 (BST)

What Boxy said. --Cyberbob DORIS CGR U! 13:44, 30 September 2007 (BST)
Additionally, my message wasn't really very abusive at all. --Cyberbob DORIS CGR U! 13:45, 30 September 2007 (BST)
I know its not abusive, I just summarised the vandalism warning. And as to what boxy said, WHAT THE FUCK? I never would do that. People who wipe pages make me want to eat babies. Someone was on my account. But since that can't be proved, I'll just forget about it again.--Wooty 19:34, 30 September 2007 (BST)
I wouldn't worry much. With plenty more than 250 edits and 2 months after the infraction, that warning is just waiting to be striken out. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 19:47, 30 September 2007 (BST)
Well there's a lesson for you (and everyone else), always log out from the wiki if you use a computer that others have access to (especially younger siblings) >:) -- boxytalk • 15:53 5 October 2007 (BST)

Withdrawn promotion

I'd like to go on record that although I think you're not that suited for being a sysop, I do think that you're generally a good editor that has done a lot for this wiki. And I hope that you continue like you have the last couple of weeks.-- Vista  +1  03:16, 16 September 2007 (BST)

If I show that I can maintain this for, say, a few months, would you be willing to change your mind? --Cyberbob DORIS CGR U! 03:18, 16 September 2007 (BST)
Part of my problem with that statement is the semantics you use. You see you don't have to show that you can maintain it for a few months because I'm fully convinced of that already, you'll have to show that you will maintain it as long as you are a sysop. You can do that by continue to act in this way for several months, but with these sort of statements you limit your change to just until you get to be sysop. It's a fundamental difference, the first statement makes it sound like you want a reward for good behaviour, the second makes it sound like you are serious about being a good sysop.
Now I can't look a couple of months into the future because that is a long time on this wiki, you and I might not even be active here then. It could very well be that i would chance my mind in a couple of months, but you'll have to show me that you'll maintain it indefinitely instead of a couple of months. If you can maintain it indefinitely you'll be a good sysop and I'll gladly support you.-- Vista  +1  03:46, 16 September 2007 (BST)
I know what you mean, and I think I misspoke myself slightly. I'm looking for a period of time after which you would be satisfied that I could maintain my present level of decorum forever. --Cyberbob DORIS CGR U! 03:54, 16 September 2007 (BST)
I'm sorry but I can't give you a arbitrary time that would convince me, I've got no idea what time would convince me, it might be just a month, it might likely be longer, I won't know until you've actually convinced me. And I also think that you setting a time for a new bid would be counterproductive, because that way people could doubt whether you just kept up appearances until then or whether you actually were in for the long haul. My advice for you is to be patient and let somebody nominate you in due time.-- Vista  +1  04:16, 16 September 2007 (BST)

Re: Jeez

I could use this case, however it has too much drama and not proper for Kevan's talk page. And if you thought i'm bitching about some certain player - you were wrong, im only concerned about an abusable moment --~~~~ [Talk] 12:00, 8 September 2007 (BST)

Re: Ban Evasion

I didn't want to clog up Kevans talk page. But I think that Conndraka's 750+ blocks was a little more noticable then your 300ish, hence I mentioned him. Anyway you should know by now that nobody gets the appreciation that they deserve. Thems the breaks. - If Jedaz = 10:03, 15 October 2007 (BST) then pi = 2 + 1

A few things.
  • 300 is still a shitload. There was nothing to be lost by mentioning others as well, apart from a few extra keystrokes.
  • The statement "nobody gets the appreciation that they deserve" doesn't apply when the withdrawal of said appreciation is a conscious decision. Attempting to use it as a get-out-of-jail-free card only makes you look like a dick, Jedaz.
I really hope you pick up your game in future, both with regard to respect for others' contributions to the wiki and dealing with criticism. Spouting "them's the breaks" only makes you look like a condescending arse, which I know you aren't. People might get the wrong impression of you, and I think we can both agree that that is always a bad thing. --Cyberbob DORIS CGR U! 11:50, 15 October 2007 (BST)
I never said 300 wasn't alot, and I never said that Conndraka was the only person to block proxies. Your "criticism" sounded more of a hurt user then anything else, as of such I came here to explain why. Conndraka's contributions were more noticable (because they were more numerous), as of such his contributions were an easy example to point to.
Now, I'm sorry if my idioms sound condescending, but thats just how I express myself. Belive it or not I'm not trying to put you, or your contributions to this wiki down at every waking moment. (Or anyones for that matter)
I never get why we are always like this, seriously, like WTF, it's time for both of us to get over this crap. Now I don't know if you yourself are holding any grudges, I'm trying not to, but it's hard when you pull shit like this. You could have just gone and thought "Oh well, he forgot about those edits" and moved on, but you actually made the effort to be noticed. So tell me please, whats the deal with that? What are you wanting or expecting to happen when you do that?
Theres definitly something which I'm missing and I want the correct impression of you. - If Jedaz = 13:09, 15 October 2007 (BST) then pi = 2 + 1
Ironically, I thought you were being childish by ignoring my blockages. I'm sure you can see how easy it would be for me, given our history, to assume bad motives behind your comment (I remember not so long ago the roles here being reversed, actually). I don't really know how we're going to fix this... maybe a simple agreement to try to get along? I mean, if we go back to being on friendly terms again, we're not likely to take anything the other says the wrong way, are we?
I'm sorry for taking it the wrong way. It's hard - I don't have many friends (on here) anymore, and I know there are a fair few users who'd be happy to see my back. Up until the message you just posted, I counted you as one of them. --Cyberbob DORIS CGR U! 13:42, 15 October 2007 (BST)
I can see how that would happen, I know at times I felt the same way about some of your comments. The agreement sounds good. I think though, to fix this, it will take time and a bit of effort. I'm glad that I could see the real you for a change. - If Jedaz = 14:28, 15 October 2007 (BST) then pi = 2 + 1

You know...

You managed to put the following words together. "Killing survivors is generally what zombies do." Learning how to play the game before being killed multiple times is generally what new players do. This is a pathetic excuse for a game. Congratulations on contributing to the reasons why I'm leaving it so soon. - ZachsMind 11:36, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

"A steep learning curve is not necessarily the mark of a bad game." Actually. It's a hallmark. It's a screaming festering pile of a mark that a game is bad, if it presumes anything more of a new player than an interest to learn HOW to play. The fact this game doesn't help new players gain an interest in it is a warning. I'm taking the hint. New people are not welcome, unless they're sadistic idiots who want to be treated like crap for no reason. You'd do well to drop it and find something productive: like anything. Picking one's nose is a nobler effort than this game. - ZachsMind 11:48, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Misconduct

Can you at least help protect me from his threats of VB'ing me after the case is over? Can you reassure me on whether or not that's allowed?  Nalikill  TALK  E!  W!  M!  USAI  05:08, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

To be honest, I have no idea whether the Misconduct case counts as "shitting the admin pages up". Your vote did seem like a trollish one to me, but IMO as long as you can show that you honestly believed it was misconduct I reckon you should stand a fairly good chance. Withdrawing the case with an apology to Grim would also go a long way - he might not even take it to VB at all. --Cyberbob DORIS CGR U! 05:12, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. I was on the fence as to honesty versus apologising hurting my case, and I'll go with your suggestion- being honest and apologizing.  Nalikill  TALK  E!  W!  M!  USAI  05:17, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

eeek. Done. Now... am I allowed to withdraw the case? If so I have done so and asked for whoever is allowed to move it to Grim's archive.  Nalikill  TALK  E!  W!  M!  USAI  05:22, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
Yeah - misconduct cases can be withdrawn at any time. Note that this episode won't have won you any friends... --Cyberbob DORIS CGR U! 05:25, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
Okay, then, would you mind moving it?  Nalikill  TALK  E!  W!  M!  USAI  05:26, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
I believe only sysops are allowed to. They're also deliberately left up for a few days, to make sure nothing is hidden. Back in the day, sysops were accused of helping each other out (read: lolconspiracy) because cases were archived straight away. --Cyberbob DORIS CGR U! 05:28, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
Ah, okay then. I'm just anxious to put this behind me... hopefully with no time behind bars.  Nalikill  TALK  E!  W!  M!  USAI  05:29, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
Grim's a fairly reasonable guy... though given his opinion of you he could do anything. --Cyberbob DORIS CGR U! 05:30, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Vista's talk

Don't get me wrong, I think the same same as you of Grim's comments, but I'd rather don't see Vista's farewell (and when I say "farewell" I certainly hope its not) being tainted by a discussion, any discussion. Just my two cents. --Matthew Fahrenheit YRCT+1 02:39, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
