Gold Star!

Thanks for helping use the templates for this wiki. You get a worthless gold star from me! :) Daniel Hicken 05:41, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

I'm meaning a gold star, because I saw you used the on the Apsey Library and most people can't seem to figure that out. :) Daniel Hicken 05:47, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
To indent as I did you use the almighty colon! ( : ) and the more you use it, the more indented things get.  :) Daniel Hicken 05:53, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Mentor

Hey Gage, my name's Dux Ducis, and I have requested you as my mentor on the project mentor page, newbie registry. Further reasons there. Thanks--Dux Ducis 04:53, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Hey man, what would you like help with first?--Gage 05:05, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Mentor(sig)

Hmm, probably making a cool sig. Could you reply to my talk so I know where to look for this stuff in the future? --Dux Ducis 05:08, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
We'll keep the whole conversation here, okay? First, you want to create the page User:Dux Ducis/sig and place whatever you want to use as a signature there. We have some basic rules on signatures, and they can be found here. Then, place in the "Nickname" field in your preferences, and check the Raw Signature box. Basically, you are using a template as a signature this way. If you have any questions about making different colors or stuff, just ask.--Gage 05:20, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks a bunch! I'll get started then!--Ducis DuxSlothTalk 05:22, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Huur!@%*^@# its not working. I'm trying to add a link to my talk page....--Ducis DuxSlothTalk 05:31, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

You will want to do something like T--Gage 05:33, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Thats what I did, and the bitch isn't working. Oh I'm so stupid! Hahaha! I'm trying to link to the page I'm reading! lawl--Ducis DuxSlothTalk 05:36, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, you can't have a link to a page you are on ;D--Gage 05:37, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Ok, now color! Hmm, what code would I use to add 'DarkSlateGray' to my sig??--Ducis DuxSlothTalk 05:41, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

I made a template to do that. Check out c. You would do something like some color--Gage 05:47, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks man, that template makes it easy as... check it out!--Ducis DuxSlothTalk 05:54, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
You like it?--Gage 05:53, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Very much so!--Ducis DuxSlothTalk 05:56, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Sweet.--Gage 05:58, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Mentor(CSS/Profile)

Brilliant! Now, next I would like to know how to add a color scheme to my page. I imagine its preferable to use CSS? I know the colors I would simply like to add, but I'm not sure how it is all implemented... (DarkSlateGray, SlateGray, DimGray, DarkRed for reference)

Honest to god? I don't know what CSS is. I can tell you what we usually do though. We use wiki code, which is XHTML. I think. Like I said, I am not sure. I can tell you that we will be making your userpage a huge ass table though. Tables begin with {| and end with |}. I stole this from Xoid's talk page:

the text on your page would go here

you can mess with the colors and shit.--Gage 06:06, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Hey, thanks - I was gonna steal the code from his page, but I'm not admin like you! Mucking with it now..--Ducis DuxSlothTalk 06:12, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
So what do you think??--Ducis DuxSlothTalk 06:25, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Snazzy.--Gage 06:26, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Do you know how to change the link colors? I wanna change em all to 'maroon'...--Ducis DuxSlothTalk 06:49, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Use c again.--Gage 07:19, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Let me clarify that one; what I meant was how to change the link colors on my profile page, for example all the links to location pages. Is there a code that will change all of them?
If there is, I am not aware of it.--Gage 07:23, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
Could you find out for me if possible? I don't know who to ask...--Ducis DuxSlothTalk 11:52, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Zone Defenders

If you feel you have the time, step in and lead the group for now. Foobarosa has been missing for a couple of weeks, it appears, and I'd like to see those who've registered their interest already not drift away... http://wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Special:Contributions/Foobarosa --TTHSK 08:56, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Sure, I've got the time... heck, I'm on one of my longest holiday periods ever. It'll take a little while for my char to get down to your HQ. Laws89, UD profile link, be there soon. He's currently at YRC clinic in Yagoton, trying to take back Bale Mall. But your 'little' project certainly has taken my interest. Of note, why give me the link to the user contribution page??--Ducis DuxSlothTalk 09:20, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
Foobarosa is missing, no contributions for a couple of weeks. I don't know whether he will return, but he was founder of the group, and writer of the plan. --TTHSK 10:01, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
Huurrr, scratch that one, I'll bring down DuxDucis, my primary character UD profile link as not to confuse people with my wiki user name and my UD character. So, What do you want me to do here on the wiki to get started?--Ducis DuxSlothTalk 09:24, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
Well, on the wiki, any cleanup of or additions to the Zone Defenders page you can think of. Helping facilitate contact between the Zone Defenders and the Liberation of Crossman Department, who are interested in aiding the plan. Any wiki stuff that can be done to help achieve the immediate needs on the Survivor Security Zone page (people/groups getting involved; knowledge of the plan made common). Another thing that can be done on the wiki is contacting those who have registered as being willing to become involved, and making us all talk to each other. The only other thing I can suggest is creation of a forum for the group, which is a necessary step. Although it will need to be highly organised. (reports on barricade status common, and all that crap) That's all I can come up with. --TTHSK 10:01, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
Ok I'll do some wiki stuff tonight, then do some chunks tomorrow--Ducis DuxSlothTalk 11:20, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

Ugh

Editing your comments after people have responded to you is considered horrible form.--Gage 02:06, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't know that... still a bit new to the wiki and the guidelines...--Ducis DuxSlothTalk 03:49, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

Remote Necronet Access

It'll show you the nearest necrotech, even if it's in a different suburb. It's just more difficult if it's in a different suburb because then phone masts have to be working in both areas. --Jon Pyre 13:23, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the little clarification--Ducis DuxSlothTalk 21:23, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Nav Bar

Check out User:Gage/Nav for some code you can steal. I saw your comment on Mia's talk page, and I know for a fact that she planned to go on vacation over the holiday.--Gage 07:29, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

Lower The AP Cost To Use a Syringe On a Murder Victim

Hi, this is in regard to your vote on this suggestion. I'm not sure how you're worried it could be exploited. On the whole it should just prevent lots of scientists from having to pay the AP cost because of the ease of a PKer's kill. --Jon Pyre 03:30, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Alright, I'll give you one - how about PKer groups maintaining thier own revive points, so they can revive their PK buddies for less and get back into the action quicker? Thing is John, Urban Dead is supposed to be simple. Keep it that way. You know how things become more complex? It's when you start adding exceptions and 'buts' to the established rules. Such as this AP differing reviving cost system. And the flack jacket change on the same page above. Both, in my opinion, not needed. If you want to add rules, add simple rules or game mechanics. Don't complicate the established ones. Remember, Keep It Simple Stupid! --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 04:02, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Sorry about the delay, New Year's and all that. Ah, but see this suggestion isn't taking sides between PKers and Bounty Hunters. It makes no moral judgements about whether it's right or wrong or whether PK groups should be thwarted in their efforts. It's viewing it simply in terms of the AP cost it takes for one human to kill another human. It's cheaper than a zombie would have it, therefore the cost to undo it should be cheaper as well. And I suspect PKers kill a lot more people than bounty hunters kill PKers. On the whole this would lessen the damage caused by PKing far more than it would aid PK groups. --Jon Pyre 07:47, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

ever stop

I don't need to rely on the law of averages. I ride the bell curve like a surfer. --Jon Pyre 08:03, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

yeah yeah, good one Jon. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 10:37, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
It's generally accepted that if Jon or Mr. Aushvitz ever stop submitting suggestions, the suggestions page will enter a state of vacuum, collapse in on itself, become a black hole, and suck the rest of the wiki into itself, leading to the destruction of the wiki.--J Muller 22:05, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Location Project

Hey there, you're doing a pretty good job overall, glad of your input. But when you're grouping the suburb motels together, they go with the Hotels from the suburb, under the name Suburb Hotels (rather than Suburb Motels). It's no biggy, just add the hotels to the page you've created, and then get the mods to move it (via M/MR) to Chudleyton Hotels, and change the redirects -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 12:14, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Oh, should have linked you to this page too, LSG -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 12:16, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Bah, dammit. I was not too sure about the motels bit. There were no hotels, so I went with motels. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 12:20, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Ha, no hotels, makes it kinda stupid calling it Chudleyton Hotels then don't it... but it's in the style guide, that's what it's gotta be, or you drive the beaurocracy (me) insane ;) -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 12:26, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for letting me know. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 12:27, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Ah, bugger it, just create a redirect at Chudleyton Hotels and point it at Chudleyton Motels, that'll do the trick -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 12:31, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Done ;) --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 12:33, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Coupla pointers

Hi, just a few things I noticed about your grouped location pages that need fixing. You're trying to link to some nondescript locations (warehouses, cemeteries, etc.) pages named a warehouse, you've got to be sure to take out the "A", it's just a warehouse (same for all nondescripts). And instead of , group location pages get a template, Cinemas (so that all the group pages get put first on the Category list). I know it's a lot to remember, and it's no biggy, someone will fix it for you later if you forget. Just making sure you know :) -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 07:51, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

*Slaps hand on foreheaed* righteo. Will do in future. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 07:52, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Lemme guess, you're most likely the person who will "fix it for you later if you forget"? ha ha, is there anybody else besides you who is heavily involved in filling-in the blanks too? --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 08:05, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Oh, musta missed that last reply. Yeah, there's a good chance of it. There've been a few come through doing up locations pages. They come and they go -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 08:08, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Nomination

As a general rule, I don't vote for people who nominate themselves. I am much more inclined to vote for somebody who has been nominated by a 3rd party (see the nominations of Boxy and Ron Burgundy). Asheets 23:55, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

X:00

The X:00 page has been heavily updated to reflect that X:00 is rolling into a new "active test phase". If you have a zombie you can use in Riddleybank, please join in. There will be some metagaming involved (obviously, otherwise you would not get this message) but it will be for the purpose of testing in-game methods of attack coordination. All required communication can be done through the wiki. If interested, please also visit and use the X:00 User Registration page. --Swiers X:00 18:51, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

You Rang?

In response to your comment on my talk page, no, I am NOT still around. Heh, I just happened to be around and see a message. At any rate, you said you liked my comment on the SSZ, and I thought I'd mention that I'm not a Wiki-nut. I am just really analytical by nature. I'll try to check in to see if you respond, but frankly, I can't remember if I ate anything today. If you're interested in tracking me down, and you don't hear back from me, I'm a lot more frequently on the RedRum forums, and am REALLY easy to reach there. I would, naturally, be IneptOne over there. --Craer 06:38, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Mod bid

Xoid asked me to - oshit. I just realised where I went wrong. Hold on - I'll fix it. SORRRRRYYYYYY.... damn, have I made a mess of things. --Hubrid Nox Mod WTF U! B! 03:28, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Oh. Actually, I was correct. You only had two Vouches, and the bid had been up for 2 weeks. Sorry. --Hubrid Nox Mod WTF U! B! 03:32, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

I'll have to dispute you there. The third vouch by Jon Pyre was done on the 27th January, which was the third. This is also within the two week deadline, which ended 1st February. Go ahead and check. Jon was the last to vote. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 03:37, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
Actually, there is no deadline to get vouches in. But generally speaking, two weeks is what I use, give or take. –Xoid MTFU! 06:23, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
