Art!

If I'm not mistaken, I heard you're a very good artist. Ever try anime? --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 13:54, 27 March 2007 (BST)

If you're talking about drawing, I can't do that for crap. Layout design, editing, and the like, that's something I'm very good at. My wiki page and Vista's user page are both examples of my handiwork at wiki-markup and the like. I'm also pretty good with Micro$oft Word. "Word?!" I hear you say? Yes, it's amazing how deep that program is and how nice you can make pages look. Heh. Styles are a man's best friend in MS Word. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 13:58, 27 March 2007 (BST)
A programmer, eh? If you don't mind...I like to see some of your layouts. I might use one of 'em for my MySpace. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 14:43, 28 March 2007 (BST)
No no, not a programmer. I tell the programmers what to do and how to set it out. Well, I want to one day. That and feature writing. I'm studying Journalism, so fingers crossed. I only know Wiki markup and medium HTML. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 14:47, 28 March 2007 (BST)
I see...hm...maybe you can make a wiki layout for my User and talk page? --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 14:50, 28 March 2007 (BST)
Ha, ok if you want. Maybe I can call in a favour sometime in the future then, ay? --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 14:59, 28 March 2007 (BST)
Works fine with me. --•▬ ▬••▬ • •••• •▬ ▬•▬• ▬•▬ #nerftemplatedsigs 13:52, 29 March 2007 (BST)

Promotion Bid

Hi Dux, I figure that you should be able to put your bid up again, given that your last bid was moved down to the voting section over a month ago (by my reckoning). Voting should have closed 2 weeks ago, enough time for mine. I think leaving if for a while before another bid is simply a good idea, rather than a hard and fast rule or policy. It probably would have been prudent to have withdrawn that bid early on... hindsight eh! It really is a pity about Xoid becoming less involved in the wiki. He was good value, and mega-knowledgeable about all things wiki -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 09:02, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Broken Templates

Haha, that'll learn ya fer insisting we all put templates in every heading >:) Um, I think the only way to fix it, is to copy all the content elsewhere, in small sections, archive a heap of it in smaller pages, and just move back what you absolutely need left on the page. I think Funt Solo worked out how to do it, with his work on the Suggestions talk page, that often broke -- boxy T L ZS Nuts2U DA 12:12, 5 April 2007 (BST)

Hmmm, I joined around July last year. Really got into the wiki around September/December. I wanted to join in the suggestions discussion, and make a cool group page (they no longer really exist - Apsey Urban Militia). --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 06:46, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
I just came to make a suggestion, then I discovered the wonders of 9-block maps. Great work on Chudleyton, I'm doing Dakerstown. --Cap'n Silly T/W/P/CAussieflag.JPG 06:49, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
yeah besides Caiger, I've done most of Chudleyton myself. I'll finish it up soon (don't expect me to do the streets though!) and I'm revising the welcomenewbie template and a few other newbie guidelines. Check out the discussion between Lachryma and me. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 12:41, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Being

aka, Lach's great plan

Not too bad, not too great. Anyway, does the whole Survivor Security Zone work well, or does everything go to hell in a handbasket? --Cap'n Silly T/W/P/CAussieflag.JPG 09:48, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Working quite well at the moment. Have a read of our stuff - if one mall falls, then the other three pick up the slack, and a counter-attack is issued. Simple really. We only need more people involved. I've talked to Lach about this, and was wondering if the GC would like to help us out if you're in the area? --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 09:56, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
It makes a hell of a lot more sense than Lach's current plan. --Cap'n Silly T/W/P/CAussieflag.JPG 10:05, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
Current plan in regards to what? GC or the SSZ? --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 10:24, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
Oh, whoops, her plan does make sense. GC is at Nichols Mall, which happens to be part of the SSZ. I thought it was just some ra--Cap'n Silly T/W/P/CAussieflag.JPG 07:51, 14 March 2007 (UTC)ndom mall she picked. --Cap'n Silly T/W/P/CAussieflag.JPG 10:33, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
So, what is her plan then? --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 10:35, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
Read the shiny coloured text at the top of the GC page. Foolproof. In theory. --Cap'n Silly T/W/P/CAussieflag.JPG 11:16, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
I can't believe you short-sighted fools dare to mock my plan!--Lachryma 21:39, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
We're not mocking it, only... er.. uh.. analyzing it. Yeah, analyzing. That's it. --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 23:48, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
Yes, analyzing. --Cap'n Silly T/W/P/CAussieflag.JPG 23:53, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
Uh huh. I got my eye on you two, and your evil, plotting ways.--Lachryma 23:57, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Just a joke, about how many rules you have to post here (Obsesive Compulsive Disorder) :P-- Che -T GC X 04:35, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

RE: The SSZ

Personally, I think the SSZ has found the perfect time to implement itself. With Shacknews gone, the game balance is heavily towards the survivors at this time. With random ferals proving no difficulty, and even the largest, most organized mobs being repelled easily, the overlap in Ridleybank is not only hardly a problem, but can become a center of focus. Personally, I've got a Mall Tourist alt stopped dead. I think it would be a great boon to get that power behind you guys. Maybe send a few people up there to talk up the Zone, maybe get in touch with a few of those groups. The key is to get the sort of people who are beating back the Mall Tour into Ridleybank to beat them off of you while you establish it. From an alternate perspective, constant clashing with the RRF will keep the game interesting for the zone defenders, offering a place where there are plenty of zombies for training low-level defenders, as well as a good area in which they will have to work for their ground, as opposed to the other malls, which will experience most likely very small zombie resistance, and incredibly unlikely break-ins. Your biggest asset, though, is your ability to take a hit in that zone. With other malls, what happens when it's ransacked and empty? The survivors all wander to the nearest rev point and become good little mrh cows. In the zone? People will go to the other malls for revives, regroup, restock, and retake the lost mall. Such operations will keep the game not only interesting for the defenders, as things will rarely be boring when there's an occasional survivor influx accompanied by cries of "For Nichols!" urging people to action, but it allows you to lose a mall, or even evacuate one, without losing morale. I believe I have covered most of my other sentiments regarding the zone earlier. If you want any specific opinions regarding more recent events, I will need the information to process on it. All I know is that Harmanz are up, Zombies are down, and the CRs are frequent at Stickling. You gotta grab a hold of the opportunity that's being given to you by the current abhorrent game balance before someone gets off their ass and fixes it. Ridleybank is more a boon to your cause once you've established than it is a drawback. Having a place to level, a place where there's going to be excitement and action? A place where you can fight perhaps the last real zombie group in the game? Sure, it'll put you off to a rocky start. But once you get it, the RRF can keep the game interesting, just as you can keep it interesting for them once the game balance is in their favor. You people have to stop looking in the short-term. Once you're established, the portion of Ridleybank you have is going to be the action zone of the zone. if the zone was populated by nothing but ferals and tiny groups, what fun would it be? Where would you get your exp? What would you DO all day? Sit on your four malls and tell jokes over the radio? Jeeze. You have something that can't be torn away from you without a number of zombies that frankly does not exist in Malton today. So what if you've got a border dispute with the only group left that can provide some action to you people? If you don't want to fight zombies, quit. If you can't stand the undead, get out of the apocalypse. This has potential to provide you with an obstacle. Every story has to have an obstacle. If everything falls into place, what fun is it? If the zone fell into your hands, who would care? If you didn't have to defend it, it wouldn't need defenders.

But that's just one man's opinion, I assume. --Craer 21:04, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for replying. Hmm, there is some useful information there to digest.--Ducis DuxSlothTalk 03:58, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Your user page is weird and its too hard to figure out how to leave you a message. I still love ya though... Also I prefer to be spanked than slapped (repeatedly). --genie in a bottle - zone 03:08, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Well, it seems as though you were successful - therefore you will not be slapped. Or spanked. However you are welcome if you want it ;) --Ducis DuxSlothTalk 03:16, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
My brother used to have a ham licence and probably still does but I was never allowed to mess with it. I just get to in the game. It is supposed to be easier now because you don't have to learn morse code but all the equipment is so expensive I'll probablly never do it. --genie in a bottle - zone 03:49, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

DNA Scanner Improvement: # of Unscanned Zombies

You asked how can Necronet know which zombies are scanned already and where they are. I honestly don't know. But I do know that Necronet does this, through some process Kevan has left unexplained. DNA Scanning allows Necronet to track recently scanned zombies via the Necronet Access map. This proves that DNA Extractors must do something, maybe implant a chip or inject radioactive material, that allows Necrotech to locate their position. This information exists (fictionally) in Necrotech's databases before a scientist begins their work. If there are scanned zombies in a square already Necrotech knows. If Necrotech has this information and the ability to share information with their scientists why would they not provide it? --Jon Pyre 15:52, 2 April 2007 (BST)
